Terrible advice followed by terrible analogies. Consuming Fox News without question (skepticism) would directly contradict the point I just made. There will be truth, but there will also be bias, which is a universal phenomenon because since the day we are born we are being molded based on our social standpoint. If I had been born in the bible belt, I may be arguing for Fox News & Christianity right now (generalizing here for sake of argument). You have to seek other sources as well, while not c…

Just ignore whatever advice feminists give men. It's not worth the heartache. Terrible advice itself. At its heart, feminism is about equal rights for all creatures. I am a pro-feminist male who has learned loads from informed feminists, particularly in academia. Be skeptical and critical of all advice you receive, feminist or otherwise, and learn that generalizations about social movements inevitably fall short of reality.

From a very young age we encourage little girls to be nurturing and little boys to be independent. We reinforce those with the toys that we let them play with, the activities they participate in, and eventually the roles they play in their own family. So basically, if you're a male babysitter, you have your culture & your media going against you.

Biologists have argued that there is a larger difference in physical strength within the sexes than between them. Also, sociologists theorize that trends of lower physical strength in women result from encouraging gender roles and stereotypes of keeping little girls away from physical activities while supporting little boys - thus nurturing muscle development. We also see this in the encouragement of muscle-building diet; "Drink all your milk so you can grow up to be big and strong like Daddy."

Otherwise, we're just as bad as Feminists. A bit of a generalization there. There is ignorance on both sides, why contribute further to it? I only say it because I know quite a few feminists, both in academia and otherwise, who would agree with you - I base this on having had similar conversations.

Thanks for addressing the humanistic aspect of this as well as the monetary. People often forget that money is not the sole requisite of societal well-being.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
