It comes up a lot on the news here where crimes are not punished severely enough. I am of the opinion that longer prison sentence doesn't necessarily mean better. Just going to prison and having a record is detrimental enough to deter people from committing crimes. I have no problem with short sentences. We don't even have death penalty here, it's safe to say that canada in general is lenient when it comes to punishment.

Just an FYI, this is what the criminal code of Canada says, it's not even the minimum sentence; the minimum is only 1 year. In the first half they said they did the experiment for 2 hours. The video is clearly not 2 hours. It's obvious that they edited the video (no surprise there) and they obviously didn't show every single one. Besides, we don't know the percentages, ie, how many said something vs those who didn't.
