So farrels book is "evidence" because it supports the views of the majority of the people here? There are a lot of authors who use the term patriarchy and say that it has impacted most known societies. But that suddenly is propaganda? Some threads on this sub are actually very insightful. But more often than not i ask myself why i even subscribed.

Thanks here, that is actually a good point. Language and speech is always received and that has to be taken into account. The term hegemonic masculinity might be a better fit here. I still think women are allowed to talk about this topic, since these traits tend to harm them aswell as other men or oneself.

Toxic masculinity does NOT mean, that all masculinity is toxic. That is not how english works. If i say American people i will be talking about the people, that are American, which is a subset of all people. And why should women be not allowed to talk about it? Certain parts of toxic masculinity definitely affect them.

Changing your gender to escape the societal expectations has only become possibly and accepted in the last decades (and for a lot of people it still isn't). Changing your line of work is comparably way easier.
