We’re doing a podcast ep on male victims of domestic abuse; and I would add that denying that men are victims or can be victims adds to stigma for any men in an abusive situation, meaning they’re less likely to identify that they are a victim of abuse, less likely to seek help for their situation and therefore remain in a harmful environment.

So we’re just putting the finishing touches on 2 episodes of our podcast about false allegations; and it’s honestly scary as hell. Another point to add to your list is therapy. There’s been a lot of work done by counsellors to attribute later problems to childhood abuse; so there’s this belief that troubled adults are troubled because of sexual abuse and are encouraged to believe that.
