1	Bar scene - Is it not for me? You'll get more comfortable and better the more time you spend doing something. That includes picking up girls at a bar. Honestly (and I kinda hate to say it) drinking more does help you come out of your shell. I'm not saying to get hammered, but a good buzz can be good especially since you're in college.
