Nah dude. I don't believe blue pill/red pill factors into this. I got what I wanted from drugs and have no further need to use any, other than the occasional beer and coffee.

I get you man. I used quite a bit of marijuana and lsd in my later teen years, and after quitting cold turkey, I felt like shit. Lifting and starting healthier habits with food made it bearable and nowadays I feel even better than what the pot made me feel. I'm lucky I realized the problems with my ways early, and had time to recoup. I'm almost 21 and I've never felt better.

But, your competition has much more in common with the girls, isn't that true? They are from a closer generation, maybe in the same college, and have friends around those ages too, creating mutual friend potential. Eventually girls want commitment at the end of the day, and it makes more sense to build a future with someone rather than live off a future someone has built for a commitment. Unless they're a gold digger or have some other problem, I fail to see how being a 40 year old well off guy …

Hey man, I'm pretty new to Reddit, and this is kinda long and I hope you read it. I wanted to say I was in a very similar situation to you for the past 3 years. About 5 months ago I finally met with a psychiatrist who suggested I might be depressed and prescribed some zoloft. It took about 3 months for me to notice a difference, and I'm off it now, but I'm much more confident and don't fuck up my ambitions like I used to. I'm turning 21 soon and I can't wait to show my parents how much I've grow…
