Generally I only downvote when someone just gets outright hateful or starts getting off topic to throw the discussion. I usually don't remember to up or downvote, I just jump in and start running my mouth. I'm always a little surprised at people's problem with covering certain issues with insurance as a whole, or labeling kinds of insurance as "socialism".
