I saw this earlier and thought “who needs men?”. Seriously though, I am fully leaning into cat-lady status. I love my perfect little cat son.

They say they don’t want to initiate because they don’t want to be seen as creepy. They want women to initiate, but the go post and comment things like “men of Reddit, what creepy things have women done to you?” If you hit on a man, he will probably find a way to turn it against you.

Back when that video came out, I was in middle school. The only male teacher in the building, who was in his late 20s, was very open about having a crush on Britney after that video. Looking back, I’m disgusted.

I just saw a post on the front page where a woman was asking to be roasted without anyone mentioning a certain website. What did they all do instead? Made fat jokes.

I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’ve been working in service and retail for more than half my life, but I can usually tell the married couples that are splitting things from the women with leeches who are trying to show they are cool girls by treating the guy they are dating. You develop a feel for spotting it.

There is a difference between the couples with joint accounts and the girls with scrubby boyfriends who make a big show about paying.

One of my coworkers is always complaining about his ex. I don’t know how long ago they broke up, but I’ve worked with him for 6 months and he wasn’t dating anyone then. A friend of mine used to work with him and had many stories to share, one of which being that he cheated on his ex.

My mom and stepdad were married for 19 years when she died a couple years ago. A few months later, he had a serious girlfriend. Of course, he was trying to divorce my mom when she was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. They stayed married, but that jerk lost the family house after she died. She worked a crappy job right up until her last month to try to keep it. It really pissed me off mostly because I had always thought he was a good man. Now I don’t believe such a thing exsists.

I wish women weren’t so scared about 30. It’s not a big deal at all. One day you’re 29 and then you wake up 30 and nothing has changed. I’m about to turn 35 and I still feel the same as I did in my 20s, just slightly wiser. I know I have a lot left to learn. I suppose it helped that I never was one who needed to be married or have kids or anything like that by 30. I have a few friends who are approaching 30, acting like it’s a death sentence.

I don’t do it for empowerment, I do it for comfort. I went 6 weeks without one during quarantine and now the only time I wear one is when I’m working. I’m not small chested and one is slightly bigger than the other, but I give absolutely no fucks what men, or anyone, think about it, it’s about me and my comfort.

My friend had already been keeping hives for a couple years before, so I joined up with her. Her parents had a farm outside of our city, so we kept them there, but where I live, you can keep them in the city, too. I read a few books and found some resources online, and learned what she could teach me. I think she had learned a lot from a local beekeeping group. Most beekeepers seem interested in sharing knowledge and advice (and in some cases, loaning equipment), so if you could find some people…

I don’t subscribe to twox, but I ran into this thread earlier. One of the comments I happened to see was from some man complaining about how he is too tall and hefty to find clothes that fit, because it’s hard to find a 38 waist, so “he knows how y’all” women struggle. He also added that even though he could go up to a 40 or down to a 36, he didn’t want to, because he is comfortable with himself. Fuck that guy.

Well you know, what’s the point of improving ourselves and our relationships when we don’t have a hospitable planet on which do live. I don’t think of myself so much as a Negative Nancy, but more a Pragmatic Polly. But maybe if I spell it out in bright, colorful balloons for you...

Environmentally friendly? He uses them, and the process to create mylar damages the environment. Does he replace them if they pop? Either way they are going to end up polluting some river or ocean, when he is done with them. I’m guessing since he is so environmentally friendly, he doesn’t use helium, so there’s that, at least. However, people see these posts and get inspired to do their own “cute” little balloon messages. But I guess as long as he is reusing them, he is helping solve climate cha…

Yesterday, I was walking with a girlfriend when a guy on a bike behind us yellEd “move out of the way whxxxx!”, so we moved out of his way to see him ride into the street on the next block to move around a man who was walking. Pretty sure he would have gladly rode into us, if we hadn’t moved.

That could be a location thing. In my area of my country, people are known for being friendly and helpful. In rural areas, people depend on their neighbors a lot and people are happy to help each other out. Of course, this is not always accurate. There are plenty of people in all demographics that would screw over anyone else, given the chance.

I work in fine dinning and I deal with wealthy, educated men all the time. Some of them are pure trash. They can be so rude, arrogant, sexist, ignorant, etc. They might be more common than polite wealthy men, in fact. I’ve worked in much more working-class kind of places before and some of the most polite and gentlemanly guys I’ve dealt with are farmers, factory workers, mechanic types. It depends on what your own personal values are, but if I went down that road, I think would feel much more co…

Men are visual creatures, my ass. I have 2 male roommates who can’t see dust, breadcrumbs, a sign on the toilet lid that says “put me down”, dust bunnies, etc. This week one of them left not one, but two, faucets running for 15 minutes, until I noticed and turned them off. He literally “forgot” he left the kitchen sink running and the next day the bathroom sink! He also left our apartment door open one day while rushing out and when I pointed it out he blamed the other roommate (who had not been…

The only person anyone truly has is herself. It’s a hard and scary fact to accept, but it’s true. If you can’t be happy being alone, you won’t be able to be happy with anyone else. It sounds like you have a lot to work on and adding the problems of someone else into your life, won’t solve yours. Your relationship is exhausting to me, and I’m not even in it.

It’s not going to happen and it totally sounds like you need to be single a while and reevaluate yourself and learn to be happy on your own. Get your anxiety issues treated and stop making excuses for him but especially for yourself. Sometimes it is better to be alone. This might sound harsh, but I’ve read so many posts by …

It’s not your maturity that’s the issue, it’s someone who is in their mid thirties and wants a girlfriend that could technically be a daughter whose maturity is the issue. Between 21 and 25 and then 25 and 30, I think people just really change a lot. So many people think “I’m 25, I’m so old” but then in a few years, they realize they aren’t. As far as socializing, it depends on the people, but it goes back to being in different stages in life. Sometimes I actually relate more to people your age …

Some would say the age difference itself is a big red flag. As a 34 year old, myself, I would be one of those people. You probably already know that it’s a less than ideal situation, which is why you are asking. I work with people in their early 20s and it’s hard enough to relate socially sometimes, that I couldn’t imagine being romantically involved with someone so young. Of course at 21, people tend to think they are grown up, but they really aren’t. Watch out for any controlling behavior, kee…

I think one of the worst things a person can do is have kids because they think it will fill a hole in their lives, whether that be loneliness, to save a relationship, “because it’s what you’re supposed to do!”, etc. I was born to a couple of people who should not have had kids, especially not together, and for this reason, as well as many others, I have never desired to have my own. I decided that at a pretty young age too. There have been times when my hormones and society made me slightly dou…

This isn’t just in couples relationships. My brother lives with me and we are constantly going over this same issue, as well as all the other things he neglects to do because he “didn’t know” or “forgot” or “didn’t realize”. I’m the bitch now, of course.

I didn’t realize this was abusive until recently. My mom would throw away toys of mine when I was young and then as I got older she would throw out clothes of mine, which had been purchased with money I earned working after school. When I was 11, she had the dog put down without telling anyone she was going to do it. I did realize, at the time, that was pretty fucked up.
