I agree. Most of the minimalist advice I found was solid, but was not oriented towards men or bachelors, but more families and chumps. This is a niche a lot of single guys could use.

Thank you for that! I actually started the blog because of this. I learned everything I could about Simple living as a bachelor for the past few years but the information I found was always wide-spread nuggets of wisdom, and not in one place. I really do hope to help as many as I can and build a community!

Thanks for reading! I agree I've lived in a large studio and found myself unable to fill the space in it.

If it's the only way for you to save up to get a place then it's a viable option. It's not a long term plan for one to do so.

My philosophy is, if it doesn't add value or have an every day function to your life you should toss it. If those decorative items are a part of you and you would like to keep them around for reflection/display of achievement there is nothing wrong with that. However, the idea is you want to be able to pack up as little as possible and hit the road if needed.

Yes, we all try to wear many hats these days instead of mastering one craft. The internet makes us feel like we can do it all.

Thanks for the reply, I wish I could find a studio for that! Moving somewhere cheaper is definitely in the future plan.

Thank you for sharing this. I never knew of this man's works but this has piqued my interest. I usually don't think much when I see a quote but this one actually made me think.

I put everything in the freezer including the rice. Refrigerating it makes it hard and sticky but freezing it seems to work for me. It's trial and error how much food you'll need for a week/ month/ etc.

I have rambled for a long time and I always came off as annoying. Being more succinct has been a game changer in my daily interactions.

I shouldn't have even made a #5....then it would have been even more succinct haha

Indeed. It can be hard not to want to fill the space with more banter to avoid it being awkward.

It's very hard to find other men to bond with that don't share a cookie-cutter world view

Absolutely. I can't tell you how many "friends" I have removed from my life because they had nothing to contribute to it. I know that sounds selfish but you have a finite life here and if you waste it with people who want to keep you at their level then you are going to have a very hard time advancing in life. I would rather have a small network of people I can trust and that can add value to each other's lives.

Self discipline seems to be a strong winner here

Lmao fucking class. You're right it is in fact a huge beacon of "turn the fuck around and run" and we should be thankful for technology making it easier.

Dude this other woman isn't worth the effort, time, or stress you seem to be putting into it. If you already have a gf then focus on your current relationship or get out of it if it's not providing you what you want. But for the love of god, don't stress out about this woman from work. She had her fun with you and now she's either found a new flame or she got bored. The reason isn't what matters. What does matter is that you don't exert any more unnecessary time into this. You can run through al…

Great point, transportation doesn't have to be nearly as much as we think. You can get a 1-2k car that runs and drives and not have $700 a month car payments for example. I didn't really think about motorcycles

Yeah don't get me wrong I have a few nice things, but we are sold a lie that we need them for status and to attract women. All buying expensive things does is put a lot of guys in a bind.

If he can afford them yes, but a lot of guys buy shit they don't need. The point here is to show how little we can get by with on our own.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
