I waited with my first husband and we ended up divorced after he cheated. It felt kind of silly to hold out a second time, so I didn’t and I never shared my number with anyone I dated, not even my now-husband knows. I feel like any man that would push to know wouldn’t have been worth my time, and quite frankly I think most men are relieved to date a woman who doesn’t feel the need to dissect past relationships or sexual partners.

I struggled with that for many years too. I was shy in high school and desperate to find a relationship in my early 20s. It’s really hard, but you will never regret guarding your dignity. Don’t chase a man. Let a man court you. The best advice my mom ever gave me was that if a man wants to date you, he will pursue you. And it’s absolutely true. That doesn’t mean you have to feign indifference. But let a man come for you, and if he doesn’t, move right along. Don’t text bomb them. Don’t stalk them…

How many dates have you been on? From the sounds of it, you aren't in a relationship with this person, just some dates. If that's the case, you shouldn't be worried about supporting him, or "leaving him," because you're simply in the exploration phase. If I had a few dates with a guy and he started trying to offer me partner-like support and thought we were a couple I'd be running for the hills. Is that maybe what's happening here? Are you being a stage-5 clinger?

Why would losing a few pounds affect your ability to conceive? Unless you're malnourished or underweight, I can't imagine why it would have any effect at all. You can lose weight by eating healthy and clean. And doing so is probably better for you if you're trying to get pregnant anyway. I'm a foodie so I've learned that the key to not gaining weight is to make very tasty, healthy meals. Meals you're excited to eat, not "diet" food. You don't need to calorie count, just do less carbs, lots of fr…

I just took a peek at married red pill, and I am super confused as to why you would want to send your husband there. From the FAQ: So yes, Red Pill is against marriage because of the way it works in modern society. However, in MRP we are already married. We don't support modern marriage, but we detest divorce even more. However, we no longer fear it. Have you read some of the posts? There are some seriously angsty men there, and after clicking a few posts they were just douche-bros raging on abo…

I'm married now, but I have never in my life asked my partners number. Not even my husband. I don't know why people feel entitled to that information TBH. I've asked when they were last tested for STDs and that it. From what I've seen, the numbers conversation does nothing but lead to unnecessary problems and/or insecurities.

If a space heater is a no go, get a heated blanket. Obviously it won't help when you're up and doing stuff, but it will help keep you very nice and toasty without so many layers when you're sitting or sleeping.

It's hard to think of specifics on the spot, but in my time here I've noticed a lot of questions from women who almost fear questioning their husbands, disagreeing with them, asking something of them, or wanting something that may go against their husband's desires. For many here, fitting into the box of the ideal red pill wife has become an obsession, and I think it's sad and unhealthy. And I feel a lot of users here perpetuate the behavior. We are still human beings with our own minds, and our…

Sorry if I misunderstood. I think that verbiage threw me and I've noticed a lot of wives here who seem to be submissive in ways that seem really unhealthy, and that was the vibe I was getting. Again, sorry I read into it too much. Would drawing up a diagram and taping it to the machine lid be patronizing? It seems like a sensible reminder, but I know some people are funny about stuff like that.

Asking him not to do the laundry is challenging his authority??? I'm a traditional woman, but sometimes the things I read here damn near knock me back. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: there is a difference between being led by your man and being a doormat. It should not even be an issue to say to your husband, "I love you, and I appreciate you, but I prefer you don't do the laundry (and here's why)." There are certain tasks I prefer my husband not do, as I like them to be done a spec…

We don't have any outlets in our entry so I got one of those Air Wick autospray air fresheners and it works pretty well. I wish there were better scents to choose from (most of them are sickly sweet), but the fresh linen is decent. You can set it to spritz every 9, 18, or 36 minutes, and I suspect the 9 minute cycle would do the trick for you. If you have an outlet with surface space, wax warmers have much nicer scent options, but they aren't as strong and require more attention (cleaning out th…

I was so pissed when I watched that video. To hear an overweight, unattractive man berate the women of his congregation was infuriating. Like, man, you need to get on a treadmill and get a grip. And let's not kid ourselves, the "ultimate trophy wife" Melania wouldn't have looked twice at Donald if he wasn't filthy rich. What kind of marriage goals is that to emulate??? So absurd. Personally, I've always taken care in my appearance. The biggest struggle for me was the year following the birth of …

It can be done, but first and foremost is mental health. I had a colicky baby when I had my first and went back to work full time (small business owner) after 3 weeks (I hired a mother's helper - who was only there to assist me during my business hours - and brought our baby to work with me). I worked full time, kept a clean home, and still had home cooked dinners. My husband and I tagged teamed cooking during that time. I also made sure I showered and got myself ready with makeup and hair every…

Same exact situation. I hadn’t contributed here yet, just subbed to see what it was all about. That was okay with me. Breakingmoms culture could be a little toxic itself being that you could never say anything that wasn’t congratulatory or back patting. A lot of those women needed a little constructive criticism. It was basically turning into a place that existed solely to validate shitty behavior.

This is a strange issue. Are you on any medications that can affect your hormones? Are you bisexual, or gay leaning? Are you still in love with, or hung up on your partner from 4-5 years ago? Does your boyfriend turn you off for any reason: odor, not a provider, not very manly, unattractive, etc? Have you ever been attracted to him? Are you depressed? I doubt you suddenly became asexual. There's probably something going on and you didn't really give any info to narrow it down. Break up with your…

Kick the sister out. I’ve been in a similar situation with a family member before and I cannot express how much your mental health will improve once you remove a destructive person from your home. Get hair extensions. If long hair will make you feel good, and attractive, get it done. Life is too short for bad hair. Find a way to come to terms with the tattoos. If it was me, I’d find a way to rock em. Dress ultra feminine, in pinks and frills, you’ll feel like a pinup. Or dress very chic, blacks …

I'm in the US so I'm not sure what size you actually are, and I feel too lazy to google the conversion. But, in my experience, fad diets or super restrictive diets never work and lead to self-loathing, either because you're miserable or you fall of the wagon over and over. Couple suggestions: You could hire a personal trainer. A lot of personal trainers will also help address diet needs. A personal trainer is a great way to have accountability, being that you'll need to show up to your sessions …

It sounds like you are carrying a lot of baggage from the trauma of your first relationship. It sounds like he manipulated you into feeling worthless, by his cruel words and by taking your virginity. I would suggest you think about seeing a therapist to help you work through this. Your boyfriend can't fix this for you by reassuring you, or marrying you, or whatever. You need to fix this. Right now, I'd say you are at risk of either pushing your boyfriend away, or making a mistake by jumping into…

I got banned from a moms subreddit for subbing here. I hadn’t even contributed here yet. I wasn’t too bummed, I thought that while the community could be great at times, they were often really inadvertently toxic (you were never allowed to criticize, even in a kind and constructive manner, so really unhealthy behavior was often perpetuated). I guess I figure if a community is that obnoxiously concerned about muting people who have dissenting views, even though they follow the sub rules, then it’…

Sounds like he thinks you already are a blessing! He wants to take care of you, and that's really sweet. If he's happy, and he's happy to work a little extra to cover the bills, you have no reason to feel guilty. You offered to contribute, if he wanted, he could have supported you moving forward with that. Continue to show appreciation by doing the homemaking that you are. He obviously really enjoys it. That being said, I'm not sure being a Christian wife means you must blindly obey your husband…

Hun....your husband sounds manipulative and selfish. He's using compliments and sweet sentiments to make you feel too guilty to hold his feet to the fire and participate. I'm sure you didn't choose to have children so you could be a pseudo single-parent...but that's kind of what he's forcing you to do. Even if one parent is working and one stays home, the off-hours are still supposed to be a team effort. Everyone needs breaks, but it isn't a free for all. Honestly, I hate to be that person that …

I used to be a terrible cook too, but there is hope! My suggestion is to slowly work your way up. A couple times a week, pick a recipe that you would normally avoid (because it has more ingredients or steps, or whatever). Don't go for the hardest recipes, just a little more complex than normal. Don't make every recipe for the week a hard one, you'll get tired of it and give up. Work your way up. Also, if a recipe was really hard the first time, don't give up on it. I have learned that often the …

Whoa, 2 hours!!! I'm not sure what to say because giving himself a 2 hour break from parenting every day would be more annoying than the fact that he's blocking toilet use for those 2 hours. I would be super, super pissed. Are you a SAHM? Just curious if he thinks he earns that break by working or something? I'm trying to understand his self-justification here. Either way, I'm a firm believer that dad's don't get to just bugger off during the day for nice little breaks whenever they feel like it…

I mean, you're not the gatekeeper to the rpw ideology. It's not up to you to decide who is and who isn't rpw... Should we encourage women to settle in their 20's simply because it fits the rpw ideal? What about women who haven't even had the opportunity? Are they kicked out of rpw because they didn't get their chance fast enough? Too bad, so sad? My personal take on rpw is that it's a traditional, conservative group of women. I take what works for me from the rpw ideals and let the rest go.

I'm a tad bit confused at the issue here. What do you need to stand up for yourself for? If you like coming up with ideas and enjoy it then who really cares if he doesn't take the advice. If you don't want to do it and feel like your time is wasted then say you don't feel like looking up ideas right now. It's really that simple. My husband is a pretty flippy-floppy guy (will ask for ideas on things and then do his own thing anyway) and if I feel like offering my ideas, I do, and if I don't feel …

If it's simply not in your character to be a warm, sweet person that's okay. Everybody is different, and it's really how you emphasize your good qualities that matter. I'm not really the most gentile woman either. I like to make snarky jokes, and I'm career oriented, and strong-willed... But I keep an immaculate home, I dress pretty, I cook nice meals, and I show my husband respect and love. I don't think men are looking for a doormat, at least not the good men. They are looking for someone to r…

I think that sounds weird tbh. I wouldn’t wear a necklace that says “art dealer” (my job) lol. Also, it feels a little doormat-esque. Do you need a visible statement declaring to everyone you meet that you cook and clean for your husband? I don’t know. I just think it’s goofy and not much different than the wives who wear “army wife” stuff. It’s like okay, who cares? Nobody asked.

Girl! You are trying way too hard, and worrying way too much! First, dressing well doesn’t need to be expensive or hard. Look into a capsule wardrobe. Find pieces that are easy to put together. Have a couple everyday shoes to rotate and keep it simple. I have one go-to pair of knee high boots, booties, and casual flats. I have more because I like shoes, but I rarely wear them. You only need a few staples. Once you’ve simplified your wardrobe you’ll find it much less intimidating and time consumi…

Would be for me. I had a LTR with someone who liked anime and I felt like the lack of maturity that existed for him to enjoy anime leaked into other aspects of his personality and our relationship. After that ended, it was a huge red flag/dealbreaker for me when I was dating, if a guy was into that stuff. To each their own, but that’s a no for me.

This is my never ending struggle. I live in the North and I’m always cold in general. I wear soft leggings, knitted socks, and a sweatshirt. It’s not sexy, but it doesn’t look frumpy. I can’t wear it it to bed though because it’s too constricting. So I change into loose pajama shorts and a baggy t-shirt right before bed. There’s no two ways about, I look like a frump first thing in the morning. I wish I looked cuter, but I guess I figure it’s not that big of a deal considering the effort I put i…

If I didn't really know the guy yet, I usually dressed based off the date location. For a basic local restaurant I'd wear skinny jeans with sandals or booties and a flattering shirt. If it was an expensive restaurant or borderline club atmosphere, I'd wear a skirt, sexy top, and heels. If it was winter, I had a pair of super cool wide leg dress pants that I kept for such occasions. I think you maybe just got a little catfished on your date. I wouldn't be reconsidering my aesthetic if I was you. …

I agree with you. It’s patronizing to pretend I need help or stroke someone’s ego so they feel more manly. I’ll often tell my husband how much I appreciate his “manliness,” but it’s very genuine. I was married before and my ex wasn’t manly. I had to take care of things on my own a lot. I felt like a mom, not a partner. So I’ll express gratitude for those things I missed the first time. I’ll tell him that it’s sexy! Because it is! I don’t say it to reward the behavior or whatever, I just feel gra…

My husband and I slept in separate rooms for about 6 months when I was recovering from a postpartum insomnia incident. I needed a quiet room with no disruptions to be able to sleep. It was great. We both slept very well for those 6 months. We’re back to sharing a bed but fairly often my husband will get up and go sleep in another room if he’s having trouble falling sleep, or if he notices I’m struggling to fall asleep. I have a whiteboard in the kitchen and when I run out of something, I write it down. That’s pretty much how I keep track of my pantry items. I shop once a week for groceries, or we order online. Due to a lot of errors with the online shopping I really only use it if I’m in a pinch and really don’t have time. We spend an excessive amount on groceries IMO, about $180 a week. We buy healthy foods, eat a lot of meat (particularly chicken), and it seems we tend to prefer ingredient heavy meals. We al…

I have kids and I still don’t like other people’s kids. I’ve gotten better at pretending I like them...but not much. Don’t overthink it. Don’t volunteer with kids. When you have your own it’s different. You don’t have to be maternal with anyone else’s kids but your own. I love my babies. I adore them and I think they’re the cutest little things on the planet. That’s all that really matters.

Absolutely, I think we all know deep down when we're flirting with danger, and what it really comes down to is how we respond to that. I was in the exact same situation as you once, in my first marriage. I cut it off and never saw the guy again. One thing that I realized later, is that no man or woman of value would flirt with, or try to tempt, a married person. They might seem great at the time, especially if you're struggling with your partner at home, but they're not. If they were, they would…

I wouldn't want my husband to tell me if he had one kiss with a woman in the past. However, I'd definitely tell my husband because I couldn't live with the guilt. I suppose that makes me a little selfish? I believe affairs happen gradually, but I think the red flags are instantly obvious. I remember when my ex-husband started a new job and he came home one night and told me how his female co-worker was dressed that day. We were having a conversation about proper office attire and he relayed what…

I know exactly what you’re talking about! I felt that way so much when I was younger, but I eventually grew out of it. I used to be nervous to change my hairstyle even, for fear it might garner attention and comments. Looking back I can definitely say the issue was deep rooted insecurity. I can’t tell you how I grew out of it other than time (and getting out of an unhealthy relationship that was holding me back). The best advice I can give is that you dress and style yourself how you’d like. Don…

I would be incredibly turned off by a man who considered a rape victim to be not pure enough for him. Now, if it was unresolved issues stemming from the trauma, I can understand that. Not everyone is equipped mentally to deal with things like that. But because she wasn't pure enough? That's gross. What if you were to get assaulted someday down the road? I don't think there's anything wrong with responding quickly. I'm a couple-hours-later responder because I'm really busy with work and kids, but when my single furloughed friends respond super fast, I don't think anything of it. Most people who don't respond right away aren't doing it with an agenda, it usually that they're just busy or distracted. And they probably don't care, or notice even, that you aren't the same way. I agree that making sure you're compatible is important, but I think you're grossly over-simplifying it. Three dates and the sex wasn't good? I mean, that's like really not shocking in the slightest. Hell, I'd still be deciding if I like someone on the 3rd date, not worrying about if they're going to rock my world in the bedroom. The first few times with my husband were laughably terrible. My husband has a half sleeve and a medium sized tattoo on the inside of his other arm. I love them, I think tattoos look really sexy. He’s a traditional guy, and he actually got them after we were married. One is a piece symbolizing personal growth (he got it after completing his rookie year on the Fire Department) and the other represents myself and our children (it’s not the typical name or face tattoos). Not the person you commented to, but I've been with my husband for 7 years and we've never had a conversation about past sexual partners. It's not that hard to believe, tons of people don't care to talk about that stuff, and genuinely don't care what someone's number is. It's never even come up, like I've never had to say, "I don't feel like I want to share that." I've never been asked in my life, and I've never asked anyone else. Thank you for saying this. I refer to it as "don't ask, don't tell" as well, but not because it's some trick or manipulation. I just really don't think my past intimacies are anyone's business, and I don't care about my partner's past either. Having made past mistakes does not need to dictate your future. I was married and divorced at a young age (my ex-husband cheated and left), I did some things I wish I hadn't as a result, and I remember being worried that no good man would want me. I don't really see any logic to your dad's sentiment. When you're young, and especially before you have kids, it's very easy and cheap to part ways. When I got divorced from my first husband (he cheated, but we maintained civility during the process) we split the cost of an attorney (that I retained, we agreed ahead of time on how to split assets), and since there were no kids, it cost a couple hundred dollars and took 30 days. There's not a lot of context here, but I will say that if you just met this person you may want to be careful to not come off too aggressive (talking about marriage with a brand new partner is pretty intense), and to also take a little time to relax and focus on getting to know your partner. People present themselves in their best light in early dating, and it takes a while for the flaws and potential issues to arise. I often think that relationship advice seekers are not looking for advice, more than they're looking for validation. And in the process of ensuring they get said validation, they make their partners sound like losers. So of course Reddit offers advice that is often more than probably necessary (run now, divorce, therapy). Not to say therapy isn't good blanket advice, but a lot of the stuff is probably petty arguments blown out of proportion, or a person grossly misrepresenting the situation/rela…

I think that until reality hits, the idea of welcoming a SAHW is really easy to give lip service too.
