I see a mix of perspectives from my friends, especially in social media. A small % praise and acknowledge their husbands for the Father's they are, posting photos and celebrating them with words of affection and appreciation. It's wonderful to see. We put our best faces on for Social Media (usually) so is it genuine? From what I saw, yes, I believe so, knowing what I know about those relationships. Another sobering takeaway.... Seriously.... triple check yourself before engaging in any sort of sexual activity. Not just for false accusations, but if you indeed father a child, you run into an mammoth legal system hell bent on supporting the mother of your child, all at your expense. It's easier to believe that Privilege is the reason for it, rather than personality, attitude and approach to situations. I.e. A persons character is what matters and is the leader in why good and bad things happen, not privilege.

Usually if a response is made by the man struck, it's followed up with something like "That didn't hurt." or "Well, you deserved it." It's just plain wrong. Even if the man could tolerate more pain or even if what was said was inappropriate, physical or verbal responses are not appropriate. This is the moment to react as we should, not react on the same level (i.e. crude, sexist or yelling) or worse.
