If every guy stood up to this like you did, our experience on dating apps, and in life, would improve dramatically. The problem is that there are so many desperate, thirsty loser guys out there, that this will never happen.

I am all for people making money how they want, but I can't stand onlyfans and the idea of men paying these women money. Imagine if all the men who subscribed to these accounts used that money for self-betterment. The world would be a better place, their lives would be better, and ironically, these men would be more likely to actually date, for free, the hot women they are paying to see naked.

That study from the medium article is really flawed (very limited size, not peer-reviewed, based on interviews), and while I believe it probably does reflect reality, here is an actual peer-reviewed study which found women only swiped right 4.5% of the time (that data is buried in the actual study): https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0272775719301104. The data for Hinge isn't much better, where 1% of guys get 16% of the female likes, and half of all guys are fighting for 4% of th…

Good video and observation. Here's my take, which is that male thirst is the driving reason behind online dating sucking for men and women both: https://medium.com/@dbennett_46189/male-thirst-is-driving-online-dating-woes-e35d67d96fb2

You're welcome! I posted it a few weeks back if I recall. It got some discussion and kind of disappeared among some other stuff. I really do think if more guys reflected on how online dating is NOT working for them, and the literally thousands of women around them on a weekly basis they could engage, many guys would get off dating apps. Most guys just create limitations in their mind like "I can't talk to her because she's working" or "talking to strangers is creepy" and end up going back to onl…

I think actually meeting women in person in a variety of ways is going to be the new trend (including simply socially engaging those around you whenever appropriate). Online dating is just too broken and I think guys in particular are finally waking up: https://medium.com/@dbennett_46189/why-talking-to-random-women-is-a-guys-only-real-option-in-2019-f710b0e51c10?fbclid=IwAR1A1s3yBAc-HyCL_4Eseb5IxgBrqZX56PK-Awcr99Pgm2RRHKohGCysHmA

Thanks for the reply! It's funny because I noticed that 2018 was when online dating started getting really bad. I went from getting about a date a week from Tinder in 2017, to maybe getting one a month if I was lucky. I feel like we are in a dating app bubble right now (kind of like the housing bubble back in 2007). I think it's going to pop soon as men and women both are realizing that dating apps basically suck at doing what they are supposed to do: help you get a quality date. Most women I kn…

Good for you! Definitely keep it up. I think it's also just more fun and invigorating than relying totally on online stuff (not that I'm opposed to it. I think online can be a part of an overall program).
/r/seduction21/05/19 03:00 PM

Thanks! My friends and I realized a few months ago that the online dating market is so saturated and limiting that approaching is the only way to have any kind of control. On this sub it's preaching to the choir to a degree, but I know a lot of guys still resist the idea of approaching.

tl;dr: Meeting women online has gotten much harder because of limiting dating app algorithms and filters, as well as the crowded marketplace of online messages (some women getting hundreds of messages on their Instagrams from rando guys), where a message and like from a guy is virtually worthless. The only way to truly be in control of your dating life, and to get your foot in the door among the crowded competition in this marketplace is to know how to approach.
/r/seduction21/05/19 01:20 PM

The biggest one I hear is from parents and friends: "Just be yourself and someone will come along" (nope: https://thepopularman.com/forever-alone-guys-science-says-yes/) Being yourself is great, but that is no guarantee someone will come along. And, "yourself" changes constantly as you learn new skills, etc. So, I prefer the advice become your best self.
/r/seduction17/05/19 02:35 PM

I'm not trying to invalidate your experience, but research shows having a dominant personality is more important than looks when it comes to getting sex and dates. So, what I'm saying is that there is hope, with personality changes. That's the point of learning some social skills, etc. It can make a difference. I see ugly men with decent women all the time. In fact the guy who taught me "game" (so to speak...it wasn't PUA type game) was a guy who is 150 pounds overweight whose face looks like Jo…

This is where I think learning how to talk to strangers is essential in 2019. Thirsty guys have flooded the online market with random DMs, dick pics, liking every woman on dating apps, etc, so that women are skeptical of any online engagement (not to mention when they get 1000 likes from these guys they get overwhelmed and get off dating apps). I did pretty well with online dating in 2017-2018, but lately it's like their algorithms suck unless you pay, and a lot of the good women are off the app…

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/nearly-1-in-3-american-men-aged-18-29-didnt-have-sex-in-2018 If you look at the stats, there isn't an equal number of women who are sexless, so the guys that are having sex are having sex with more women. And maybe all of those sexless guys do have better things to do (which is fine by me), but if the number of guys I see on social media complaining about being single, or the number of guys "sliding into the DMS" of random women with their amazing "your(si…
/r/seduction16/05/19 02:27 PM

I think it depends on what you mean by "game." If you are talking early 2000s PUA stuff then, yeah. But the stats show 1 in 3(!!) guys under 30 haven't had sex in a year. This isn't about teaching early 2000s "game." This is about guys lacking basic social skills that were once standard for most every guy to have. So, if someone is one of these 1 in 3 guys, and is lonely and frustrated, then I would think these guys would want to make time to learn a few basic skills that could help them get out…

If by "game" you mean teaching guys things like charisma, social skills, etc, then I think part of it is the guys themselves. Most of the single guys I know consider any form of personality or social improvement to be "not being themselves" or even worse, "manipulating women." For some reason, these guys will study every little thing about a sports team, band, or movie, but if you suggest maybe studying social skills they act like it's insane. For example, I told one friend that he should learn …

This is 100% true. I have done this experiment multiple times at my local gym, filled to the brim with very attractive women in their 20s. I set my Tinder and Bumble to a mile radius away. I have done this as an experiment about every 2 weeks for a year. Not ONCE have I ever seen any of these women on any dating app. Why? Because as you mention, if they are "single" that means "talking to multiple guys," or if they are really single, it's such a brief window, that the minute anyone finds out, gu…

I think it's possible a long term thing can come of it, because when I think about my past relationships, there were women I knew (at least subconsciously) that I was settling with. I had lost attraction, was just doing things out of habit, was really not happy, etc. I could have seen myself leaving them if a better woman came along. In fact, I did find myself looking a lot. However, if one of the women who came along was good enough, I would definitely stop my pursuit at her. I am dating around…

I have found that women only open themselves up to this when they are not satisfied in their relationship. I should note that in many cases, I'm not engaging a lot of these women regularly. It's just that when I do (like seeing them around occasionally, them viewing my snap stories, etc) it can have the impact of making them aware of the gap in their current relationship. And, in some cases, they don't see me as a better option and probably like their boyfriend more if I'm not their type. Like I…

I do appreciate your post, and I am not going to actively "steal" a woman or try to get a hook-up if I know she is taken (it's a lot of drama, for one, and some of these guys can get jealous and violent). However, I don't quite think there are a lot of high quality single women out there. Most women that I find attractive physically and with a good personality are taken. I think that is the experience of most guys. Go into, for example, your average workplace and pick out the women who aren't ob…

I appreciate the reply! I didn't really mention the issue of trying to date women taken by friends and even acquaintances, and I would never do that. I have too much value for my friends, and honestly, I'm not going to ruin a friendship for a woman. There are way too many women out there and not enough friends. Sadly, some of my friends have had no problem attempting this with my girlfriends in the past. And I agree with what you say about social media. I know many who are miserable behind the "…

I'll go against the grain and say "it depends" and I wouldn't rule them out (except I wouldn't mess with married women at all). And here's why. As you say, most attractive younger women are never single. Every quality relationship I have had recently came because I met them either while they were with a guy or at the very least crushing on a guy. So, here is how it often works with pretty women. When they are feeling done with one guy (in many cases they are even living together), they aren't go…

I think it depends on the situation. If you randomly added her (like, say, from a dating app), and she's a wannabe Instagram model, be aware she is likely getting a lot of random messages on a daily basis. My friend's girlfriend will post a story and get 10 messages like that. She ignores them. Why? Because she's doing that shit for attention and to collect followers. If you know her to some degree and can think of something to say beyond just "hey" or even worse, "you're beautiful," then it mig…

Oh man that sucks. Unfortunately, some women would rather block/ghost you than deal with something they feel uncomfortable. If it were me, I'd say something like "I'm surprised you're at school and not in some haunted house somewhere because you ghosted me pretty good." But that's me, and I don't have time for these things lol. Ultimately, I would just ignore her, pursue other women, and go from there. You'll find that she isn't as special as you thought.

A woman I know consistently gets 5-10 DMs for every instagram story she posts. She is 21 and pretty decent. Another woman I kind of see off and on gets a lot of the same number of messages (she is around the same age). A woman I met on Tinder who was 21 and cute showed me the over 100 random messages she got on Facebook from guys she didn't even know. It was crazy!

These were "likes" and not necessarily matches. None of the women (except the one below) actually matched with this many. They were just showing me the notifications showing how many they have gotten. Although the girl my brother ended up dating was in a competition with a guy friend to see who could get the most matches, so I'm guessing she did swipe on every guy. Here's a screenshot I took while swiping locally that shows that the numbers I'm giving aren't even that crazy compared to some wome…

The women I have hung out with have shown me their Tinders, and I have personally seen that number (sometimes lower, sometimes even higher). A girl my brother dated got 500 likes in a week of being on the app. So that's my experience with the women I often date and hang out with. I wouldn't say the likes are from quality guys per se.

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of women have checked out of club/bar life, and would rather watch Netflix or hang out with their pets than go out to places where I used to see them. Many women I have met literally will spend a Friday or Saturday night watching Harry Potter movies over going to a bar. And, if they are at bars, they seem to be at more intimate venues, so it's harder to find larger places with a ton of women where approaching a lot of them won't make you look weird. I also …

I definitely agree. The problem I hear from a lot of women is that the one guy they want to talk to them never does, but all the losers are always hitting on them. I think the whole system would benefit if women actually were more proactive. I tell my female friends that if you like a guy, tell him. Because most just harbor a crush, hope the guy approaches, and then they get sick of waiting for that one guy and settle with one of the guys who talks to them. And, they hate it.

So are you sure you're in the friend zone? Maybe just not engaging her for a bit and trying to date other women would be the best strategy if every time you do engage her she just wants to be a friend.

I think women can get very invested in a guy, but they find that guy in a different way than men have to. They just don't have to do much work. It's like if you were unemployed, and had 20 people contacting you with job offers each day that were all decent jobs, you probably wouldn't be doing the hard work of driving from business to business submitting resumes.

I would say that if they know you're actually getting romantic attention from these girls, then yes, being seen with other pretty women could cause a friend who is a girl to become jealous or see you in a new light. I have had women come out of the woodwork to like me after seeing me with other women. If, however, it's clear the women you're with are also friend-zoning you, then I doubt it will do much. A lot of guys are surrounded by women who are "good buddies" and women know this.

You have to look at is this way. Even above average women can get away with doing very little work. Imagine if you woke up to 10 DMs in your Instagram inbox just from posting a selfie, got hit on 5 times a day, and also got 200 likes after being on Tinder for a day (I know women that this describes who aren't even that pretty). Are you really going to take the social risk of putting yourself out there? No, you're going to probably just give hints and see which guy will take you up on them, becau…

My best guess is that the numbers would be lower simply because a lot of women live on their phones and are not used to engaging guys in person (so they'd be awkward and possible hostile to such a low value line like that). And, they have so many guys they are messaging on Instagram, Snap Chat, and dating apps, that an approach like this may fail to win them over unless you can be better than any of those guys. That being said, I do know a lot of women who are also very sick of the caliber of gu…

She ghosted you? Did you say or do something to piss her off? If she ghosted you and asked your friend out she could be getting some type of revenge.

It would depend on your interaction. This girl has been into me for a long time and we have gone on dates, gotten physical, etc. In your case, she may just be trying to get you to make some sort of move. Has she been flirtatious? Does she send you half-naked/provocative snaps? Does she hint around about romantic/sexual things? Those are usually good signs she is into you. Again, I have no idea if she wants you to make a move or if she truly views you as a buddy, but some women will use tactics l…

First of all, you haven't given enough details to know the dynamics, so this is just speculation.... I don't know the circumstances, but one possible scenario is that you moved too slowly. How long did you text her without ever making any romantic intention clear (or maybe you did?)? It is possible she liked you at the beginning, but if you have texted her "for a long time" without any sexual and romantic escalation, then maybe she figured you didn't like her romantically. Most women I know assu…

A lot of guys make the mistake of assuming that getting a girl is about directly winning over a woman, when in reality, most research shows that getting a woman is ultimately about competing with other men who also want that girl. It's why research shows that a man's level of dominance is a better predictor sexual partners than is being attractive. A pretty woman will always get attention, and a single woman (even some in relationships lol) will give attention back. That doesn't mean that guy is…

Honestly, I prefer the OT for pick up tips. The "King David" method is great for getting the girl of your dreams. Step 1: Go to your roof and find a woman bathing. Step 2: Have her significant other killed in battle. Step 3: She's yours!

It's funny you mention this because I realized the same thing. Tinder made me lazy, and I also realized that when you put in the effort to swipe, match, message, etc (and I would often pay for boosts because otherwise the quality of women was lower), it was easier just to talk to a few in person. In fact I would say that if I broke down how my time is used, that if I talk to a few even randomly that I pre-selected as quality, it would be a far better use of 20 minutes doing a cold approach than …

I think it would be very interesting to see which male profiles a hot girl gets in her stacks, versus ones an unattractive girl gets.
/r/seduction05/04/18 07:02 PM

I have often wondered if for guys, the Elo score isn't more about who sees you rather than whom you see. From what I have seen, the ratio of men to women on Tinder is about 2 to 3. Not only that, but guys tend to swipe right on about 50% of women, versus women swiping right on 10% of men. So, this creates a huge "like overload" scenario where it's women who need the male profiles pre-sorted, and not vice-versa.

You are correct that you don't want to validate someone just seeking attention, because you'll just be another chump giving her attention and getting nothing in return. But...a woman posting something like this on instagram is one thing. A girl sending it to you personally is another thing entirely. If you pretty much know this went to you alone (and wasn't sent out to 10 different guys), then the right way to respond is to tell her she looks hot (they seem to love it phrased like, "you are so f…

Welcome to the game haha. This is pretty common. The worst thing about women in clubs hanging in large groups is there are always friends who act like this. Often it's jealousy that you weren't into them. I was talking to a girl recently, who I actually knew. Her wasted friend comes between us and starts getting hostile. My response was basically, to the other girl, "what the hell is your friend doing?" It took this other girl three times to calm her friend down. I found out later this friend is…

A good rule of thumb I use is this: how would you judge a guy in a similar circumstance? If you basically view them as the same, you're ok. If your first thought is to excuse bad behavior from a woman and/or be treated disrespectfully by a woman, you're in pedestal territory. For example, a guy robs a bank with a cute girl accomplice. Do you automatically assume he's the bad guy and she was just "taken in" by him, or that if you could just get to her, you could save her? That's pedestal thinking…

I'm 39, and I've dated far more attractive women in my late 30s than I ever did in my 20s. And, these are pretty much all women in the 20-29 age range. I never dreamed when I was 22 that a 22 year old would rather date and sleep with a 39 year old than my 22 year old self. That being said, I'm 30 pounds lighter (and more muscular) and much more charismatic and confident now than I ever was in my 20s.

Some insecure guys will find flaws in women as a defense mechanism because they can't get them. However, if you rule that out, it's probably a good thing you are judging women's looks this way, because you're actually being realistic. Not every actress or model is objectively cute. Same with cheerleaders and other types of women most people automatically assume must be pretty. If you're judging them based on what you actually like, that's a good point to be at, because you've eliminated desperat…

To me, focusing on yourself means making yourself better, irrespective of trying to get women. If the average guy would take six months to lose/gain weight (depending on if you're obese or scrawny), get fit and lift weights, learn a few basic personality and social skill adjustments, work on gaining a little more status in his career, and practice things like meditation to relax, he'd find that after 6 months, meeting women would be a lot easier. Maybe ask yourself why do you like him so much as a friend, but why aren't you interested in him romantically? That is where the "gap" is, and where he needs to improve to get a girlfriend. He has friend qualities but something is off romantically. It sounds like he's boring, can't hold conversation, and gives off a slightly creeper vibe. I feel for you, but let me lay it out. In my business and consulting I deal with the reality of actual relationships (i.e. I don't deal in "pleasantries" like what you see presented on Facebook) and I can tell you that many, many women harbor deep feelings for an ex, even after 10 and 20 years. People don't get better at social living due to time. If anything, they get worse. I would argue a kind of social entropy ensues for most people, especially after high school and college: gaining weight, losing friends, lower testosterone, job/relationship stagnation, and so forth. Virtually every one of my fit, vibrant, fun, assertive, outgoing high school buddies has turned into a boring, overweight guy who takes orders from his wife and then escapes to a bar to sit by himself.

It's not needy to make people feel important. It's a basic principle of "how to win friends and influence people." It's also a key component of charisma.

For example, being flirtatious, funny, escalating sexually (i.e. holding her hand, kino, etc), making her feel as if she's important to you would be showing interest. She feels special when she's with you. Being needy would be getting mad when she talks to another guy (and acting like a child about it), or doesn't get back to you in the timeframe you think. It would also be never leaving her side, or letting her emotionally dump her problems onto you.

He mentioned gaining confidence though, and having sex with an escort likely isn't going to provide much of that. If just getting a quick lay is the goal, then yeah, it's cheaper and less time intensive than putting in the effort to be attractive and have the skills to get a woman in bed.

My point was that if you spend $500 on an escort, that amount of investment in self-improvement could likely get you laid without resorting to an escort, and it would also result in the ability to get laid more easily in the future. For example, do you lift? Exercise? What are you reading/watching related to self-improvement? What about fashion improvements? How much would the price of an escort get you in terms of self-improvement?

I'll take a contrary view to what I am seeing on the top comments. I have nothing against two adults making an exchange like this, however, my question is "why, when it's pretty easy to get action?" So, you spend $500 for two hours with an escort (or whatever the price is), and you get someone paid to like you and have sex with you for a few hours, but is that really going to cause you to go out and suddenly become a confident ladies man? I doubt it. That money could be spent on a gym membership…

Tip 1: Honestly evaluate where you need to self improve. Tip 2: Have a "growth mindset" related to change (i.e. believe change is possible). These are two very important tips that a lot of guys miss. We guys on this sub get this, but I know guys who are overweight, have no hygiene, white knight on social media all day, and then seriously wonder why no women will date them, and instead of recognizing they have issues, they blame women or society.

First of all, don't give up because you may be coming across as creepy. However, if you sense that you give off this vibe, you likely want to address its root causes. Creepiness is more of a "vibe" than anything else, and even if you say the right things, you could still be coming across as creepy. Rather than type everything out here, I wrote 3 articles to address the whole creepy angle, since it's so hard to quantify. Check this out: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/most-people-dont-use-tinder-for-love-or-sex-heres-why-they-really-use-it-2017-03-23 That study showed among 18-22 year old Tinder users, only 4% (yes 4) were looking for a relationships, while 44% were using it to waste time or get a confidence boost. I think it's possible the outcomes could differ from intentions (i.e. a woman looking for a confidence boost could ultimately get in a relationship if a guy played his cards right), but it still show…

When she insisted on dinner, you should have told her that if you do dinner, it's dutch. I had a girl do this to me. I upfront told her I don't go to dinner on first dates when I don't know someone, because I want to get to know them without money being a factor. She grumbled, and eventually agreed. I wasn't attracted to her for other reasons, but she actually respected me more for that. I wrote an article about this and it's importance that should answer some of this: http://thepopularman.com/always-assume-attraction/ Basically, to summarize the article, you do it by intuitively interacting with her like she's totally into you. Think back to a time when you knew a girl was totally into you. How did you act? What did you think? Even when I was in junior high, and awkward as hell, if I knew a girl was totally into me, I would instinctively become more confident, flirtatious, fun,…

One study showed that among 18-22 year olds, 70% of Tinder users never have gone on a date from the app. Most were on there to pass time and get attention. So keep that in mind. I am very picky on my right swipes (must be thin, cute, usually under 30, and not advertising she's a total pain in the ass or gold-digger). That being said, I have matched quite a bit and gone on multiple dates. Some don't bite, but when they do, it goes like this: I usually message her pretty soon after a match. Most w…

First, you have to determine if you want to proceed. It's either a shit test, or she actually has one. It doesn't necessarily mean she actually likes him if she has one. If you feel like proceeding, here are a few lines I use if she specifically tells you she has one: "Well, you look like the type who could use two" "That's crazy. I have a girlfriend. We should introduce them to each other. I bet they'd hit it off." "You have a boyfriend? Interesting"

It's mainly demographics. People have always tried to get their friends in relationships, and obesity rates are at record highs. Thus it follows that a lot of single women will be overweight, and their friends will try to get them dates.

I tend to take thirst as more wanting sex with desperation, like messaging random women or telling even the fattest woman how beautiful she is. Being sexual and wanting sex (with or without commitment) is simply called "being a man."

This is why you have to "fake it til you make it" to a degree. Kino is still kind of hard for me with people I don't know very well, but I make sure to do it, and each time it gets easier. Just keep at it knowing that it is likely what she expects, and it will increase your odds of getting a romantic response from her. Like any other habit, your brain is wired based on past behavior to do what you have done thousands of times (in your case, not doing kino). Changing brain wiring as an adult is c…

Choose the closest metro area and start swiping. Since you're not paying rent, you can afford to take a trip there to see these women some. Absolutely it could be. I know a lot of women in long term relationships that they hate (guys too, but that's another post). And when they are around guys they really like (versus the guy they are settling for and can't stand) they experience a variety of emotions. They are paradoxically happy and sad/angry at the same time. Why? Because they love the "other guy's" company, but for hundreds of reasons (fear of moving on, having a kid with the other guy, fear of judgement, etc), they tell themsel…

Odds are good you won't get them "back home" after meeting them randomly unless they have been drinking a lot. If you have built some connection first (like messaging them on tinder and you got them out), then maybe. I would personally measure your approaches against 3 criteria. Just because a girl confides in you about serious stuff doesn't mean you're in the friend zone. It depends on the context. A little empathy is a good thing, as long as relating to her emotionally is not all you're getting. I would meet her, gauge attraction, and make sure the conversations steer back to flirting. If you try to steer it back to flirting, and she takes it back to emotional stuff all the time, I would back off.

Your photo gives a kind of creepy vibe. Also, if you're being mistaken for being in your 50s, you're not going to get a girl your age. You also look very "soft" and chubby. While looks don't matter as much with women, looking kind of creepy, 20 years older, and soft is going to pretty much telegraph that you are not attractive, even with "game." A lot of guys would love women take the initiative in this regard. Women have no idea how intimidating it is for guys to talk to women, especially ones they like. I would just tell him you always thought he was really cute and cool, and that you want to get coffee (or something else very non-committal, but clearly a type of "date.") before graduation. That gives a "I like you more than a friend, but I'm not desperate" vibe. Good luck!

I would argue that erotica is closer to what women actually want than a self-help book on the subject would be. That a woman likes a dominant and sadistic billionaire who has rough sex with her but is kind of sweet about it is closer to reality than advice that a woman just wants a sweet nice guy who spoils her.

I don't see how it isn't simple. If you know that talking too much is "just a friend" behavior, that's why you don't just "talk." You flirt, tease, physically escalate, etc. And if you do that, she rejects it, and she just wants someone to talk to, you can decide if having her as a conversation buddy is what you really want.

I think extreme degradation is a type of dominance, but there are many other ways to be dominant. I've found that if she doesn't like something you try, you'll know, and then you go from there. I think no matter what, most women respect that you're taking charge.

I think online dating gives the impression of ease, but is actually even worse in terms of rejection. But it's a facade. Yes, online dating is easy from a front-end technical standpoint, but ultimately it creates horrible odds of the actual goal (getting a quality, pretty girl on a date). Cold approaching is difficult technically, but produces much better odds of achieving your goal. My experience has been good too. However if a guy isn't physically attractive it's going to be hard as a guy in his twenties, and even harder for a guy in his thirties and forties. But for guys who care about their self development, tinder can be a great way to meet women, especially younger ones.
/r/seduction20/03/17 11:45 AM

In terms of Tinder, to be fully honest, I think it depends on how much older, how attractive you are, and how willing you are to lie about your age. My experience is that if you're in your mid to late 30s and beyond, your options on Tinder are very limited, unless you are willing to get a little fudgy about your age and appear in more of the results for younger women.

My first comment was a joke, but here is a serious reply. Keep teasing and ramping up your flirtatious behavior every time you see her. Make sure you're slightly touching her too when you interact. Get her out alone at some point soon (without friends). Next time it is going well, I would say something like "you seem pretty fun; we need to hang out after school soon." I agree with this assessment in a lot of ways. To be successful on Tinder you have to put in more effort than it seems, including getting past the competition, attention seekers, inactive accounts, etc. However, I think the reason Tinder seems frustrating is because of the perception it gives to guys that it is sooooo easy. I find two types of people who don't recognize this reality. 1 - Older women who can't stand that men their age would date that much younger. 2 - Younger, single, guys who can't fathom why someone their age would fall for a much older man. Generally, younger women and romantically successful older guys absolutely recognize that younger women like attractive older guys (note: not ALL older guys, just a small subset of them).
/r/seduction05/02/17 09:08 PM

This is very true. Every woman I have known who dated a much older guy said it was their "rule" to not go over [fill in the blank with an arbitrary number] years older, yet when they actually met an attractive older guy, they quickly violated that rule.

It's what girls do because they can. Imagine being a pretty girl. You literally have 10 or more guys messaging you (some you barely even know), many of them desperate. No offense, but your story illustrates a problem that sometimes happens when very socially awkward guys are given PUA tools. Creepiness + confidence - social skills = amplified creepiness. One tool I use with my clients is to start very slowly and go from there. We do a thing called the "hi" game to start. We walk around a mall or crowded (usually 2-3 of us) and compete to see which one of us can say "hi" to the most people. At first it is tough for them. Even mustering a "hi" to someone walking by is work. However, by the end, they are working hard to say hi to everyone, even people far off, just to win the game. Most guys build follow-up into their initial statements and it removes layers of conversation. If a girl reads it and doesn't respond, you have to really ask yourself if she is worth it. A good maxim to remember is "people give attention to what they value." If she is reading and isn't responding, you're likely (at that moment at least), not that much of a priority. If she has checked you out multiple times, then that is her (subconscious) way of signaling that it's ok to say something to her. She just gave you the evolution-programmed go ahead. Before you say something, take a deep breath. I also find it good to get into a good mental and emotional state before you say something. I always think of my buddy who was admittedly buzzing, but told a girl he just met "your glasses were fucking hot" to which she smiled and they later dated. It always makes me lau…

I get what you're saying, and obviously they still need to learn, but they were still bigger men than the scores of other guys, with beers stuck to their chests, standing around staring at girls doing nothing and feeling self righteous about it.

You did the right thing then. I admire it. Honestly, who cares what her grandma thinks. My late grandma was a good person, but I can only imagine the mess she would have made of my dating life if I gave her any control of it.

Nothing is more frustrating than someone who is so hard to read like that. Some people just are. It seems like things have been pretty positive so far. She volunteered she doesn't go on dates, but she gets asked all the time. That means she must say "no" a lot. You asked and she said yes. And, she seems to be agreeing with every suggestion you've made about continuing the relationship, which seems like a good sign of interest. She may just be being polite, but politeness doesn't usually extend t…

You did the right thing. Since she didn't actually pull out a shotgun, the only issue now is will that girl contact you?

It depends on the girl. Just be aware that a lot of pretty women have a ton of options. She could be texting multiple guys and started liking one more than you. Personally I prefer coffee dates over dinner dates, especially at first. Coffee and a walk. It is cheap and she'll agree if she actually likes you. Dinner is way too expensive and time consuming if you're just another guy she is texting.

Ultimately if she is attracted to you, she'll justify in her head why it's ok you're still in school and don't make as much as she does. Trust me, that isn't a big deal if she's attracted. Focus on getting her attracted to you (look good, flirt, touch her, smell good, etc). You know how many "independent women" I know who are floating their unemployed boyfriends financially? I'm not saying that's you, but trust me, it's not that big of a hurdle.

Pua stuff isn't magic but I've seen it work very well, especially for guys who otherwise have no "game." I don't think you'll go from a dateless creeper to a player in a night but learning some pua techniques will definitely get a lot of guys more action than they have had before. It's not a scam as a whole, although some people in it are somewhat shady, but that's all industries. I'm not saying this statement applies to you, not a lot of guys think it's a scam because they can't believe a 30 ye…

You could just tell your buddy you were giving him a hard time and you aren't really texting that girl. You don't really owe him anything and the lie will eventually fall apart anyway. However, if you like her anyway, I say go for it. Here is how I do it. Usually I start it with something like this: "Hey I heard something that reminded me of you" (you could also say "I saw something...") First of all, think of something you could have heard or seen that would have reminded you of her (like a son…

It's very possible. I've just noticed that if a woman is pretty, sweet, and nice, she has so many options, she's usually in some type of relationship. There are certainly women who go from guy to guy who aren't high quality.

I should have added that she should make a clean break before they actually date or do anything romantic (if that even happens). That is the honest and upfront thing to do and I agree completely. And it is very possible one day she would do the same with another guy, and unfortunately if you look at cheating rates, divorce rates, and the length of your average relationship, that is more likely to happen than not. It is definitely a quandary though because you always risk it happening to you.

This may be controversial, but my business associates and I have been discussing this very issue. Our conclusions are that finding a girl who is unhappy in a relationship is actually a good way to find a good girl. Why? Because if you think about it, the best women tend to be serially "taken." Most high quality women (pretty, great personality, etc) are rarely single, and if they are it is generally for a brief period. I am not suggesting you encourage cheating, but let's be honest: most women a…

Very well said and a great way to look at things. I am reading Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh's book on fear and it addresses this very idea.

I think it there was initial attraction (especially very strong attraction), then the possibility of getting out of the friend zone is likely greater later on. The way brain wiring works is that if you are strongly attracted to someone, it is difficult to shake, even after multiple break-ups and with passing time. My cousin left his wife when he was 70 to date a woman he dated in high school after they met again at a high school reunion!

I would ask a few basic questions before you send it: How well do you know her? How closed is the community you are in with her? Forwardness with a girl you barely know can be very off-putting and creepy, unless she is harboring secret feelings for you. Keep in mind, you may be her buddy, that guy who stares in Chem 101, or whatever. Coming out with how beautiful she is without some attraction or connection to her could be a major turn off. Also, I suggest building things more organically if she…

36% of millennials live with their parents. So, a good percentage of the girls you meet will likely understand that situation. There are other options besides going to your house anyway. So I wouldn't let that hold you back at all. Instead, say you'd rather go for a drive because it's a beautiful night, and end up in a dark parking lot or something.

Generally if you tell a girl you don't know she is hot and "yours," yeah that could be considered creepy. It sounds like maybe you just came across as too forward in this one instance, and aren't necessarily creepy as a rule. I wrote a three part series on creepiness that may be helpful if you (or anyone else here) are concerned about coming across as creepy. http://thepopularteen.com/dont-be-creeper-creepy-the-rule/ http://thepopularteen.com/four-ways-to-know-if-you-are-a-creepy-creeper/ http:/…

I don't believe in "leagues." I have seen plenty of couples that don't line up with someone's preconceived notion of "leagues." Maybe you'd get hot girls if you didn't have league type thinking. Think about it.

This is exactly right. The main goal should be to get her to feel something, hopefully positive and romantic. The benefit of logic in terms of "game" is that you can use logic to figure out how you will speak and act in a way that gets an emotional reaction. This is a hard concept for a lot of my coaching clients. They are so used to logical communication that the idea of eliciting an emotional reaction seems so counter-intuitive...but like I always say, "the way to a woman's heart is through he…

Real life dating - talking to women, connecting with them emotionally, flirting, smelling good, touching them slightly, etc. That is where a guy has the advantage.

You aren't a failure. You tried and it didn't work out. I strongly believe in a concept called "no failure, only feedback." This is the idea that you never fail if you learn from your setbacks. Hopefully this gives you ideas for what you can do better next time. Even the smoothest of players is rejected frequently, especially with random approaches. Plus, there are likely other reasons why she didn't respond that have nothing to do with you: she could have had a boyfriend, she may fear any guy a…

Since you asked, I'll be honest. First, good job for trying something. That puts you ahead of most guys out there who are afraid to approach a girl at all. However, from a woman's perspective, that is pretty creepy behavior. You may have given her flowers for "the fun of it," but my guess is she was thoroughly confused why someone she barely knows gave her flowers. Women view attraction differently from men. They do like getting flowers and things... from guys they are attracted to, and with who…

It's cool to see you here because you can do this at any age. It seems like you are on a good path of self-improvement. As far as age goes, I find that people are very bad at figuring out age anyway. I am 38, and for fun I often tell people I am much younger. Generally I can get away with saying I am 10-15 years younger. I look pretty young thanks to exercise, healthy eating, etc., but I think a lot of it is that people are just generally not good at figuring out age. To answer your questions: 1…

Very good points. This may be what you are referring to: http://www.zdnet.com/article/ten-fake-profiles-one-okcupid-experiment-okcupid-on-trial/ And it absolutely shows why online dating is pretty much a waste of time for all but the most attractive men.

It seems to me that there probably is a guy, and she seems stuck on him. At the very least, she doesn't seem very engaged. Not messaging after 3 days after saying you're creepy seems like a bad sign to me.

I don't think it matters whether it is true or not. I suspect there is some truth to it at the very least (there could be a guy overseas). But either way, my guess based on what evidence you've supplied is that if she openly called you creepy, has been "iffy," and hasn't messaged in 3 days, she isn't exactly into you. At the very least, given her overall lack of enthusiasm, I think it is time to find someone else.

You can send me a DM. I run a coaching business and help guys with this sort of thing. I'd be happy to look over it. Keep in mind though Tinder is a horrible place for guys. Women tend to swipe right very little compared to guys (according to actual studies on the matter). A friend of mine was on Tinder for a month and had 500 matches. Yes, 500, and she is by no means amazingly beautiful. The nature of Tinder means women can be super choosy (even choosier than usual). You can have the perfect pr…

What I see in this post is an assumption that "who you are" is a static reality, and that any sort of social change is inauthentic. I believe social improvement is just like anything else (playing an instrument, getting a degree, learning a sport, etc): through education, changing behaviors, practice, etc, you can alter and expand upon who you are as a person based on your desired social goals. Rather than focus on "who you are," I would think instead about your values. For example, I value frie…

While this post is very vague on details, I can respond broadly. Generally women lose interest for the same reason everybody else does: it got boring. And, if she is pretty, the odds are good other guys are texting her too. One of those guys was probably more interesting and/or attractive, so as you got less of her attention, someone else got more. The lesson is: be exciting and attractive.

It isn't the message of Manson, that is true. I love models and think it's a great book. However the good thing about "fake it til you make it" is that it can teach socially clueless guys skills that they can later internalize. Even though ultimately Manson's way is better, I think a lot of guys need to fake being their best selves at first, especially if they lack in social skills.

That has been my problem most of my life. The real, authentic me is fun and people love it. The problem is fear pops up whenever I am with someone new or someone I think might not appreciate me. One tip I have used is to make a game of it. Next time you're out with a buddy, see which of you can say the craziest/goofiest stuff to the most women in a given night. Winner (the one who actually follows through the most) buys all the beer the next time out. When I do it, usually we figure out what we …

First of all, go easy on yourself man. You learn by trying things, and seeing what works and what doesn't. There are more girls out there. Being upfront is good, in a sense. I agree that you don't want to waste time being a girl's "buddy" when you don't really want that. However, attraction and romance is also a game. Declaring your attraction immediately can scare a girl off, even if she actually likes you romantically. If she doesn't like you that way, or is still deciding, then that just make…
