Been there. Make sure you get your affairs in order. Based on what you’ve said, if you leave first she’s going to roast you and everyone is going to side with the poor pregnant woman. Plan ahead so when it comes down you’re not having to run scared

I got a trainer and started hitting the gym regularly for the first time. It helped deal with some of the sudden free time, the anger and anxiety. Honestly at this point here’s nothing quite like seeing yourself in the mirror and saying “fuck yeah”. I was at a pool party the other day and a bunch of friends I haven’t seen since the divorce were like holy shit dude when did this happen. Put it right in my veins, man.

This is the right answer. The party line for me is, what happened between your mom and I isn’t about you. So I feel like it’s still my responsibility to help them do the traditional things like get mom presents for MD, birthday, Xmas etc. it may not be reciprocated but fuck it, it’s being a good dad

I did. First one since split up. We are mostly amicable, and the presents have always been “from the kids”. There’s so much upside down for them I figured I’d set up something special for them to give her. Will see if Father’s Day gets us the same thoughtfulness, but not expecting it. Even when together Father’s Day is a “leave dad alone” kind of holiday.

Yeah I mean that’s what would be right for me, others experience may vary. Personally I would understand that this is a major moment that deserves closure. But then, I am all into putting away my toys these days

If your fiance is a hard no to saying goodbye to a person you were close to and is literally dying that’s a hell of a red flag.

I would visit her for my own closure. Our time here is finite, and you can have a relative of hers get word that you’d like to see her to see if she’s ok with it. Say your goodbyes and no hard feelings and settle your past. You won’t get the chance again.

First off, I’m really sorry, and in almost the exact situation, kids, expensive area. She told me 3 days before thanksgiving, but I did know we had problems well in advance. We did counseling but the truth is, once they’ve decided in their heads there’s not a ton you could do differently. Likely she decided a long time ago, and you’re just finding out. I have meds too, but I’ll echo what other people have said in the past. Go to the gym yourself, and do it in the morning. It’s better than any pi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
