1	'From a reproductive perspective' That part about monogamy's enforcement is pretty dumb man. Sexual inequality was heightened by the development of civilization, not restrained by it. And yeah, you're right about the part where you talk about how monogamy was about restricting male promiscuity: women have pretty much always been choosy. 1	'From a reproductive perspective' I honestly don't think attractiveness even is that important tbh. Social status, and signifiers of it are the real deal for a dude. You look at what men like: high symmetry, buxom chests, wide hips, high cheekbones, etc. you find that these things are what's big for reproducing. This isn't there with women: sexual dimorphism with height for example, is actually not all that high, but it's huge with women.
