Wife gave me an insight into her angle to get more money during divorce.Fought mine all the way. I supported her through 2 career changes. I was always a hands on dad. Did more than her and my career is where it is due to me. If anything she cost me earlier progression. I support my children above and beyond financially and emotionally. But she knew from the day she mentioned keeping to her lifestyle and a rediculous amount of spousal support, I would fight her all the way. She personally got nothing. I don't revel in this. I just protected myself. Best money I ever… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/01/24 03:07 PM
my 14 years old princess wants nothing to do with me boys, it's over for meStick with it my brother. I speak from 4 years of what I can only describe as periods of intense pain. My eldest is 16, my divorce has had a huge impact on her. She is vulnerable, angry, fragile and navigating the challenges of the youth of today. I never miss an opportunity to tell her I love her, I respect her space and I'm there ready for her. I cherish the little things and one day we will get to our new normal. Please remember you have to be here for that to happen. Talk to someone. Occupy … | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/06/23 09:30 PM

The last supperMy youngest was 4 when I realised my marriage was over. I hung on rediculously my friend, another 7 years. I held on for as long as I could for similar reasons you are. The damage to me mentally was huge. In my situation I wish I'd gone sooner, young children have great abilities when it comes to adapting. My ex used everything she could against me and with teenage daughters she has tried to emotionally destroy my relationship with my children. Youngsters are far more resilient. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/08/21 06:11 PM
Change of nameIt feels a long way off but I look forward to this dsy | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/01/21 06:59 PM
Change of nameIn terms of custody I was supposed to have them 2 days /nights a week but it's never happened. My ex says it's their choice. A job has been done on them I know. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/01/21 04:58 PM
Change of nameThey can't answer. I've asked them. I've since found out my ex has told them she wants to change her name but doesn't want to have them with different names. So she has said she'll keep my name. You can see the work being done here. My kids have joined the dots as she's presented things to them | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/01/21 04:57 PM

Will I be happy again?8 months in and I continue to have the emotional and financial drubbing. But guess what? The advice is right. Look after yourself, breath, exercise. I manage my expectations around my children. I have found its all about control with my stbxw. So I am picking my battles and slowly getting my ducks in a row. One step at a time. This group has been so important to me over the last few months. Hang in there, we will be happy again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/11/19 09:43 AM
