I'm not promoting for anything. As an immigrant I enjoy the change of culture, living in different countries and exploring the world. Before covid I was planning to move to a different country. You have this outdated view of immigration of poor people going to rich countries. But there are tons of Europeans immigrating to other European countries, the middle east (Dubai/UAE, Kuwait, etc.) and Asia. As I said there are tons of Spanish (European) people immigrating. It's not a bad thing. It's funn…

Yes they can. If they decide not to its up to them. I know in some places they can get fired for doing so. But that's the discrimination we are talking about and how this law doesn't really help them that much.

I mean they can offer free education and scholarships. If the kid isn't raised properly or he just doesn't feel like studying there isn't much to do about it. What I see here is people are expecting other to take care of their kids and not assuming the responsibility of their own decisions. If your country abortion is illegal then fight for that instead of wanting to get paid. It does doesn't make sense to me, sorry. Edit: giving a chance to immigrants to work in their field isn't leeching off. …

Ok so instead of pushing for free day care and all that stuff you want to get paid? Sorry but your argument doesn't make sense for me. In Europe having kids is a choice. Therefore you shouldn't be paid. And it's not like the government doesn't educate it's kids. It's just that is cheaper getting skilled immigrants than having kids who as I said probably won't contribute to society as much as you did because jobs ate getting more precarious and life in general is each time more hard. The child fr…

Answer to your edit: I don't care about paying for children. When I was a kid I got school, healthcare, and more non necessary stuff for free. And I think kids deserve this the same way I had it. I would even say to add more: free daycare, free university, etc. You already get taxes deductions, some countries even give benefits (like 150€ monthly that are supposed to be spent for the kid). What I don't agree with is paying you for a decision that no need forced you to do. Also if we're thinking …

The post was about people's reaction to this law. I made clear I'm in favour of this law. So there's no need of all this explanation on why it's a good thing.

Spain. And we often complain because other European countries have like one year if maternity leave and free day care. I think Denmark, Norway and Germany have way more time than us.

The people of that subreddit are delusional. I've seen a bunch of men in their 40s talking about how they wouldn't date a women in their 30s and only would fuck an 18/25 year oldggirl (which by the way is creepy taking into consideration that maturity of the brain and body is reached at the age of 25) Like how delusional you have to be to think a young pretty girl would want to be with them. If it really happens it's clearly because they are using them and they are too dumb to even see it. And a…

I don't think this will end or help end job discrimination. Women go on leave five months into the pregnancy. So four months before the baby is born and three months once is born. The men only takes three months. Therefore employers will still discriminate women. And as I said I'm not against this new law. I'm glad they made it. What annoys me are the reactions. Giving birth is not 50/50. Is 100/0 and the women deals with all the sickness, all the pain and all the depression after having a baby.…

I think having to pay mothers more than what they usually make during maternity leave would increase even more the discrimination in hiring. But who knows.

I'm 22 and I've been directly asked if I'm planning to get married soon or have kids. Probably because I'm Moroccan (I live in Spain) and they always assume that Muslim girls / girls from a Muslim country have tons of kids. But women still get discriminated. They usually take maternity leave into five month of pregnancy. So 4 months while they are pregnant + 3 months while the baby is born. Men only take 3 months. But again as I said I'm glad we have equal paternity leave. But what annoys me is …

Yes as I said I'm glad they have the same leave. What I'm not in favor is of all this "equality" thing. They are ignoring that the mother is the one carrying the burden of pregnancy and people often. It's like when men complain about women aborting even if they are against it. We can't pretend that it's equal. She's the one going through the hardship of it and people ignore it. We have to acknowledge this. I agree that it's unfair for the women if the father only has two weeks of paternity leave…

Yes I feel the same. I don't really have kids but my first thought it was that daycare in my country is expensive. Only single moms get it for free. So I always thought if they could take it in different times it would be better as you wouldn't have to pay for daycare after six months. And I mean also the reason you said, more time one on one with the baby. I don't really understand why they made it this way.

That would be smart so the baby doesn't go to daycare until six months. In my country you have to take the leave right after the baby is born so they are both together during the first 3 months. That's why I say during this time the husband should take more work. I do want to have kids but hearing the stories of moms after giving birth and how their partners react it makes me feel like maybe it's not a good idea. Also like the state of the world right now doesn't make me feel like it's a smart i…

What is a promise ring? I'm assuming it's not a proposal ring? If it means what I think it means this is honestly pathetic. I mean gifting ring pops to your girlfriend is already pathetic jut it's like he's actively trying to lower the bar.

This is so scary. The fact that a man could have this mentality. But it's even scarier knowing it's true and men like this exist.

I think they are looking for validation. Like "try to communicate with him. I grew up in a family where we did a lot of joking. This is normal for some families. Sit down and have a long conversation with him on way he thinks this is funny. He will probably have a reasonable explanation." Or something like this. It's crazy the answers you get on those relationship subs. And it's a good place for women on denial to get the outside validation they need.

Good explanation. I never thought about how manipulative it could be. I always thought they were just delusional. I've only had one relationship in my life but I'm so glad I discovered this. I feel like I'm avoiding so many LVM with this sub😊

This is a bit random but that's why I love Rose from 90s day fiance. She was poor, had no roof on her house , her sister was struggling with money. And yet she dumped that disgusting thing she was dating. She preferred going back to poverty than staying with someone like Ed. People kept calling her a gold digger and she proves them wrong. Now she is smartly using the social media fame she got to provide for all her family. But it's such a double standard: that man was a photographer, he had no m…

Sorry but this seems fake. A lawyer wouldn't say this. Taking what's legally hers isn't ripping him off. This seems like a fake post a man would do to complain about feminists.

I remember when I was set up a date with someone my friends introduced me. I ended up cancelling the date because he wanted to change locations last minute and instead of going to a cute restaurant told me to go to a bar (thanks FDA or I would have been dumb enough to go!) I posted about the experience on Reddit (AITA) and half the comments were telling me I should have suggested to split the bill so he didn't feel like I was taking advantage of him and trying to get a free meal. The other half …

I've always heard that there are a ton of moms out there happier once they got divorced. They say at least now he is forced to be with the kids a few day each month so they have more free time. Also what she said. They have one less person to take care of. I used to have a coworker who was not married but had three kids at the age of 25 with her boyfriend. The oldest kid was 6 I think. I'm not sure. But the point is that the dad was unemployed. The kids all went to school except one. So in the m…

I've seen women here are usually against prenups. I guess that's one of the things were we disagree. But I lived in a country were marriages have always a prenuptial agreement as default. And I defined think it's better. I would always sign a prenup. Even if he makes more money than me. I just think it's a bad idea to merge finances together.

So to make it clear. He wanted to take a date to a place were homeless people go to eat? I was reading it and thinking well... Maybe there's something lost in the translation. But nope. Also the way I say it: first option. he is profiting off a service for homeless people who actually need the help. Who knows if a homeless man couldn't eat because of him. Second option. He is broke and hasn't money to eat. In that case he shouldn't be dating to focus on getting into a better situation. Focusing …

This is giving me major flashbacks of my ex boyfriend. Very attractive and successful dude. Dated me for a year, put minimum effort into dates: our first date was a picnic with the cheapest snack brands available, a romantic night would be staying at his place, microwave a pizza and some popcorn and watch a movie. When he fucked up he would buy me expensive flowers. And I would easily forgive him. He admitted to his friends that he was just with me because I was easy to impress and the sex was g…

I don't think that's what the post means. I think it means to not date a LVM just because he's attractive. And don't settle for less or lower your expectations on how he treats you just because he's handsome.

But isn't this the bare minimum? I mean the guy is 16 so I'm glad he's mature. But like if you get pregnant a girl and she has to abort, the fair thing is for you to support her. It's unfair that the girl has to go through this alone when getting pregnant is something they both did. Edit: also what type of mother leaves her daughter alone while going through a traumatic experience for cooking a meal.

That's rape right? Like by definition. You're telling someone to please stop because they're hurting you and they decide to ignore you. I would call that rape. This man is probably the type of men who are too scared to ask a girl out because "she could ruin my life if she decides to sue me for rape"
