So everyone is different and no relationships are the same but I had a similar situation after telling her that I was done. 20 years. We had great times but her anger and emotional abuse became too much. I felt terrible for the next few days. Committed to a peaceful and fair separation. And then she busted in the room that one afternoon and said the most terrible things that she's ever said to me. That was the last night that I spent in my home. Completely changed everything. Minute by minute is going to be day by day soon man. It's going to get better. I can remember forcing myself to eat a few times too. My brain was so overwhelmed. Take care of yourself man. But I am happier now. You will be too.

Dude. I'm 9 months into separation (22 year marriage) and still regularly have days where I'm just sad. And that's OK. And it's fine to cry man. That's how you feel. It helps me to focus on the things that I'm thankful for. And walking makes me feel better. I walk A LOT. Hang in there man.

So, I have friends and family who have been through divorce but none like my situation. It was really hard because I didn't have anyone that could relate to MY situation. I found this hiking group that meets weekly. I met/meet people in situations like mine. I found myself crying on a hiking trail with total strangers and it was incredibly therapeutic. Real people. Real feelings…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
