Maybe look at what other people in your area are charging for similar work, then set your rates at 10-20% below that to help you build a customer base. You might also consider offering a large discount off your standard rate for first-time customers; this will encourage them to take a chance on someone new.

What's the market rate in your area?

Don't make a move on her- there's lots of cute girls in the world, and it's not worth damaging a long term friendship over a girl who might not even be around in six months. I would also let my friend know what happened so that he can start moving on.

Q4W: How often do you get approached by men in public? About old are you, and how attractive would you rate yourself?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 04:26 PM

Would you want men to approach you more often?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 04:22 PM

Watch The Last King of Scotland. Great movie, and there’s a really (darkly) funny scene that goes over this. “You did not persuade me!”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 05:08 AM

There's an idea out there that the real men do the hard physical labor, and stuff you do in offices is just fake bs and you are sitting around on your butt in air conditioning and collecting a paycheck. The fetishization of manual labor always struck me as weird. The entire reason those dudes are wrecking their bodies out in the field/factory is so that their sons have the chance to work in air conditioned office buildings instead of the field/factory. That being said, I do think the main benefi…

I mean, the number of single men in her age range making 300k a year or more is already miniscule- you're basically just looking at celebrities and a handful of finance/tech folks. And then you add in all the other requirements she has? The men she's looking for barely exist.

Our caveman brains like sex better without condoms than with them, because our instinctual desire is to be fruitful and multiply. All there is to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/25 03:17 AM

Yeah, but all I’d think of is how much better the sex “could” be if I were bigger lol And my sex life would probably be better if I were taller, or richer, or higher status. We’re all born with a set of advantages and disadvantages. Your hand may be better or worse, but all you can do is play the cards you’re dealt. > What size(s) do you think would go under the “large” category, or the size that you’d think women would most “prefer”? The downside of dating someone attractive enough to have options is that you may not be the option they go with.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 11:15 PM

Ah, that’s a tough one. Unfortunately with lost romance, sometimes you just gotta let the grief run its course. It’s ok to feel what you’re feeling, as long as you’re keeping room for other things as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 03:57 AM

Is it a person or a thing that’s out of reach for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 01:09 AM

What’s your strategy look like? I’ve done pretty well with women overall, but nearly all of the women I’ve been with are from my social circle or from the apps. I’ve brought home a few girls from bars/clubs, but with them it was pure dumb luck- they were horny, and I was in the right place at the right time. I’m not quite sure how some dudes do it week after week.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:52 AM

In general, I’d say it primarily manifests as women refusing to take an active role in solving problems, as initiative and agency are “unladylike”. Another example might be a woman using the traditional view of her gender as soft and fragile to manipulate others into doing what she wants.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:46 AM

How do you usually approach night game? Are you by yourself, or with friends? What kind of bars do you go to?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:17 AM

I imagine that as AI tech improves, it’ll put a significant dent in OF creators’ pockets. The ones who already have devoted fanbases will be fine, but the lower-end creators will start having to compete with artificially generated women who can be customized to user preferences and can do literally anything (and for free to boot).
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/25 10:22 PM

I’m at social events 4-5 days per week, and I have a large number of mostly female friends. Depends on how you’d define “flirtatious interaction”. If it’s stuff like “You look nice,” or “You smell good,” then relatively often. If we’re talking more blatant things (i.e. acquaintances or strangers openly making passes at me), maybe 3-4 times a year?

The issue is that “what they are” can vary wildly from woman to woman. There’s no script that all of them follow. I’ve known women who were fine with straight up grinding on dudes they had zero interest in. I’ve also encountered women who threw me zero IOIs, then told me years later that they had had a huge crush on me and were hoping I would make a move. Now that’s not to say that there aren’t indicators you can look for and act on, but it’s an art, not a science.

There will always be people who are better than you at something; that’s just life. Always someone stronger, always someone hotter, always someone richer. Nothing you can do about that. If you’re in a relationship worth having, your partner will accept you fully- all the good and all the bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 10:56 AM

Yes, they often do brag about it. Just like women will brag about how hot, or how rich, or how successful their boyfriend is. However, there are still plenty of average looking, average income, working class men who manage to have fulfilling relationships. It’s a bonus, not a requirement.

As someone who is fortunately blessed in that area, some observations from my experience: There is such a thing as “too big”. Where that point is depends on the woman in question, but they’ve all got a limit. Girth >>> length. I’m doing pretty well in both areas, but I get a lot more compliments related to thickness. If you’re above a certain length, you have to be careful; a hit to the cervix is painful for most gals. Assuming you don’t have a micropenis, you’re probably going to be just fine. …

there is this active social message that a woman is sexual for the sake of men and not for her own pleasure I don’t fully agree with everything you wrote here, but I think this is an interesting point. I’ve spoken about this a few times in other contexts, but there’s a longstanding convention in media of all types: chaste, innocent women who sit around and look pretty while they wait for their prince to come are “good girls”, while women who actively chase sex are viewed as crass, unladylike, an…

That trend has changed in recent years; you see a lot more sex-positive female characters in media today than you would 20-30 years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/25 10:59 PM

Social conditioning is the primary causal factor imo. Consider female characters in well-known stories. You’ll often see a chaste, innocent “good girl” who waits for her prince to come portrayed as the feminine ideal. By contrast, the wily seductress who actively pursues sex is portrayed as bad. This is also why a significant number of romance stories aimed at women see the male lead engaged in forceful and sometimes even rapey behavior. Even if a woman desires a man, to openly tell him that wou…

Anybody (man or woman) who adheres to these social expectations or uses phrases like the above are reinforcing misogyny. It doesn't mean that they are misogynistic, but they are doing something that stems from misogyny. One I heard recently that really helped me: “Stop worrying about the love you didn’t get. Start thinking about the love you have right now.” As someone who can have a hard time letting go of things, this is definitely something I needed to hear (it’s from The White Lotus, which I highly recommend).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 02:46 PM

Same- get occasional IOIs, but not a ton. However, if I’m able to get a foot in the door, my “conversion rate” is probably the best out of the guys in my social sphere. Knowing how to talk to people can lead to infinite opportunities.

I think it’s a shame, honestly. People say that the magic around special occasions (holidays, birthdays, etc) disappears when you’re an adult, but that’s only if you let it. Throw a barbecue! Usually if a girl says she’s busy but doesn’t offer a specific date/time as an alternative, that’s a “No”. That being said, there are exceptions to every rule. Just say “cool, let me know!” and don’t text her again unless she texts you.

I think you misinterpret my original comment. I often say on this sub that attractive personality traits include charisma, assertiveness, good humor. These are morally neutral traits; both good people and bad can have them. So yeah, a hypothetical ugly dude with those traits will be more attractive than a hypothetical ugly guy without them; nice or mean doesn’t make a difference.

Not super often. Liberal men usually live in cities, where they’re surrounded by women who are more aligned with their political views. The ones that don’t are usually ethnic minorities, and most of them wouldn’t want to date a far-right chick for reasons that should be obvious.

Yes: Different race, goes to church, really talkative, taller than me, SAHM, lives with parents, in sorority, 6’3”. Maybe, depending on various factors: Different religion, 1000 miles away, 50+ sexual partners, gets drunk once per week, dislikes video games, military, 200 lbs, slept with friend. No: Smokes, two kids, alcoholic, OF, really quiet, waiting until marriage, refuses to have kids, same first name as mom.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 05:59 AM

And yet he's still incredibly successful with women! So it logically follows that being an asshole is not required to attract girls.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 05:23 AM
12

The issue here is that "Chad" could be a violent, unfaithful drug dealer, but he could also be a hunky firefighter who's nice to everyone and spends his free time volunteering at a retirement home. Attraction and morality exist independently of each other. Women DO go for assholes, but the guys being assholes is not an attractive quality. Assertiveness, charisma, physical fitness, and good humor are attractive qualities, and there are both good and bad men in possession of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 05:19 AM
19

I occasionally see things to the tune of "women only go for assholes"; These people completely miss the point. Attractive assholes are successful with women, as are attractive good guys. If a guy isn't already attractive, him being an asshole is only going to make him even less attractive.

Historically speaking, it’s because men were expected to be the sole breadwinners, while women were pressured to marry a provider as soon as possible. While attitudes about gender and labor have liberalized, there are still plenty of holdovers from that era.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 03:04 AM

There’s no inherent reason why; it’s just societal convention. Complying with that tradition usually gives you as a man much higher odds of getting what you want out of the date (whether that’s a hookup or an LTR).

I think that once you’re in at least decent shape, there are diminishing returns on fitness. A guy going from decent shape to excellent shape may not notice that much of a change in circumstances. However, a guy who’s fat or skinnyfat who can get himself into decent shape will have a whole world of opportunities open up for him.

You shouldn't be asking people out on dates whose company you don’t enjoy regardless. If I do this and the girl turns out not to be into me, I’ve still enjoyed a fun outing with a friend (who can potentially be my introduction to lots of other women).

Also reposting this from yesterday; I think a lot of guys might find it helpful. There’s a simple process I recommend to all guys (and honestly girls too) who think someone in their social orbit is into them, but don’t want to mess with the dynamic if they’re wrong/the other person gets cold feet. if the woman is listing off things she expects then it is fair game. In my experience, women don’t generally do this. “What does this woman bring to the table?” is a good question. But it’s one that you should be thinking about, not one you should ask, unless you’re okay with running off potential mates.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 12:06 AM

For example: I’m not looking for a serious relationship at the moment, but when the time comes I definitely want kids. If a woman doesn’t want kids, that’d be a dealbreaker for me, even if she was perfect otherwise. This is one of the positives of dating apps; people can avoid anyone who has one of their dealbreakers quickly and easily.

I agree with your conclusion; men shouldn’t be asking that question. It’s needlessly confrontational and borderline accusatory. Furthermore the information the man is hoping to get can be acquired in the course of normal conversation: “What do you like to do?”, “What are your goals for the future?”, and the like. If you don’t like her answers or just aren’t feeling her overall, you can simply not go out with her again. No need to be rude.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 05:57 PM

Artists, musicians, and other creative types are affected by mental illness and substance abuse issues at a far higher rate than the general population. You’re right; all the sex in the world won’t save you if you’re not taking care of your body and mind. That being said, I don’t think having a fulfilling social/family life and being able to pull women easily are mutually exclusive.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 02:57 PM

Every question along the lines of “Is X cheating?” comes down to the same thing: What are you okay with in your relationship? Some people would consider simply having lunch with an unrelated member of the opposite sex to be cheating. Other people are fine with their partner straight up screwing other people on the side. Where you want to draw the line is your call.

I’m not sure why some people act like “I like being friends with this person” and “This person is physically attractive” are mutually exclusive statements. I’m not sure if there’s a proper name for this, but I’ve been seeing a lot of people (men and women) engaging in what I’ve come to think of as the “Vulture” mating strategy. Essentially, they seek out people whose relationships are on the rocks, then sort of just hover around them and offer emotional support. You should go for it! At worst you’ll have some good drinks and pleasant conversation; at best you might end up meeting someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 10:31 PM

There are a lot of great NA beers and wines nowadays. Most bars carry at least a few of them, so if you wanna go out and avoid the peer pressure, that's an option.

You’re working out because you want to have a healthier life. I’m working out because I want other people to feel bad about themselves when I walk in the room. We are not the same 😤.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 07:55 PM

I'm.. not sure what "moving like a single man" even means I’ve met a few people who say stuff like that; what it means can vary from person to person. It ranges from reasonable boundaries (i.e. not wanting their bf to entertain advances from women who approach him) to unhealthy controlling behavior (i.e. not wanting their boyfriend to ever be alone with any woman who isn’t related to them, regardless of the context).
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 04:21 PM

I think it’s pretty obvious, and most people (men and women) will tell you the same. Feeling attractive feels nice. To illustrate what I mean, let me recycle an old comment of mine. Imagine two friends, Arthur and Bill, are going out for drinks. Arthur and Bill are both very happily married, and neither has any intention of cheating on their wife. While they’re out, women are constantly coming up to Bill, telling him how hot he is, and trying to get his number (though Bill, being a happily marri…

There’s a difference between going on Tinder and just being an attractive person in public. If the person you’re dating (regardless of gender) is good-looking, they’re going to get hit on a LOT. They’re going to get hit on in clubs, at school, at work, in shops, at the gym, at church, on vacation, and just randomly on the street. It’s inevitable. Now, if you discover that your person is entertaining any of these advances, it might be time to have a talk (and potentially walk away). But if they’r…

I’ve noticed that the women who are the loudest about disliking men are often bisexual girls with boyfriends. From what I’ve observed, many of them feel judged within the LGBT+ community for being able to “pass” as straight if they want to. As such, shit-talking men constantly makes them feel like they’re bolstering their queer credentials.

I would hazard a guess that the majority of people posting on English language forums are either from the US or the UK. I imagine that if you were to go to a Spanish/French/Portuguese/Arabic/Mandarin Chinese forum, you could get a better idea of what the dating situation is like globally.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/25 06:42 PM

I think we can examine the role of social conditioning here. Women are encouraged to get into fashion and whatnot from a very young age (see the toys/media marketed to young girls) in a way that boys aren’t. As such, the idea of “looksmaxxing” just seems like normality to most women, while most men view it as a novelty.

Patriarchy tells men that it’s their manly duty to throw themselves into meat grinders (be they battlefields or shitty manual labor jobs) for the sake of people who don’t give a shit about them. It makes it so that we’re made to feel like less of “real men” if we talk about how this makes us feel. It pushes us towards dangerous coping mechanisms like substance abuse to cope with the pressure. How is any of that helpful for men? What and who makes that sociopolitical system? The 1%.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/25 12:11 AM

As a man, you should aim to have at least four female friends: One who goes to church/the local equivalent regularly. One who is gossipy, is constantly organizing brunches, and is lowkey an alcoholic. One who is constantly jumping from toxic situationship to toxic situationship. One who is mildly evil. Whatever sex/relationship issues you may be having, one of these girls will know exactly what to do (speaking from experience).

I think dating apps (and the internet as a whole) may be the culprits here. A lot of the comedians you’re listening to probably have intimate experience with how rough dating apps can be for men- most guys struggle to get a even a handful of matches, while a privileged minority enjoy the lion’s share. These guys look online for advice and answers, and the RP rhetoric is right there waiting for them.

I don’t think that the ideas are particularly new. The tropes of “ripped All-American jock who gets all the girls” and “tattooed, motorcycle riding bad boy who gets all the girls” have long been a part of the mainstream. The words they use to talk about those things are just a bit different now.

Have you been to a department store before? The XXL+ men’s stuff is usually on the same rack as the S-XL stuff. The women’s stuff is usually the same way; I’ve never seen a dedicated plus size women’s section at major department store. The women’s section is larger than the men’s section because they buy more clothes; that’s all there is to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 04:30 PM

There are. Why would you open a Kohl’s or Target somewhere like Mississippi and not sell plus size men’s clothes? The sections are just smaller because of smaller demand.

Men don't get "plus sized" clothes lol You’ve never seen a men’s big and tall store? But I digress. Women buy more clothes than men do, and the American populace is disproportionately obese, so it makes financial sense to sell a wide variety of plus size women’s clothing.

Casual sex is very common; I imagine that pretty much anyone who has been to college or worked in a restaurant/bar knows this. Cheating? It certainly happens plenty across a wide range of demographics, but it’s tough to tell how common it actually is. Cheaters have a vested interest in covering their tracks, and they ESPECIALLY have a vested interest in making sure their social circle never sees said tracks. I do think that it’s a minority of people who do most of the cheating though.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 04:09 PM

I think you make some solid points. Imagine a middle-to-upper tier guy meets two different women; he finds both of them to be physically attractive and personally compatible. The only difference is that one is eager for sex after a couple dates, while the other wants to wait until they’re in a fully committed relationship. It’s unsurprising which one the guy will pick 90% of the time. Our losing gal in this example has a couple options: 1) Find a guy on the same page as her about sex (not too mu…

If I’m still awake, sure. I love to cook. But also, I think that a big part of being in a relationship is being considerate of your partner’s time and needs. If I were the one getting back late, why would I disrupt my lady’s beauty rest to ask her to do something I could easily do myself?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 05:36 AM

Something I say a lot here: Women aren’t a monolith. There are women who are completely fine with straight up grinding on dudes they have zero interest in, and women whose idea of being direct is standing vaguely near a guy and hoping he says something. To get an accurate idea of whether a woman is into you, you need to have an idea of her baseline behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 10:06 PM

Obviously the more attractive guys would do better than the less attractive guys. But what are their exact success rates? How much are those success rates affected by demographic factors? Does the location of the approach matter, and if so, how much? Are there certain types of women who are more open to being cold approached than others?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 07:36 PM

I would love to see a scientific study on cold approaching. Take a randomly selected group of 21-35 year old men and give each of them an attractiveness score determined by a randomly selected panel of 21-35 year old women. Each man in the study would be paid to cold approach 100 women over the course of the next 1-2 months and document each attempt. I realize that this would be difficult- you would need a pretty large sample size to account for income, ethnicity, and other demographic factors- …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 07:22 PM

Yeah- in my experience, there are only a couple ways for a woman who isn’t initially attracted to you to become attracted to you: 1) Your circumstances change radically (i.e. you get into incredibly good shape, come into a lot of money/status, etc). Or 2) She notices that you’re getting a lot of attention from other women in her social orbit (oftentimes as a result of the above). Even if both of these things are true, it’s hard to turn a “Hell no!” into a “Hell yeah!”
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/25 09:41 PM

I think that this is partially true, but it’s not necessarily about politics. A lot of conservative women are looking for traditionally-minded men with stereotypically masculine traits. Conservative men likely feel much more pressure to conform to this mold than liberal men do. That’s not to say that there’s any shortage of traditionally masculine men on the left, but a lot of these guys either don’t want to date conservatives, or are ethnic minorities (whom conservative women are often reluctan…

I am happy to engage in chivalry. Stranger, acquaintance, friend, or potential romantic interest, I always open car doors, follow the sidewalk rule, the whole nine yards. I mean, women do get kidnapped and sex trafficked. Not often, and not in such fantastical ways usually, but it happens. Carry mace if it’s legal, keep an eye on your drink, and walk home/to your cab with friends if it’s dark and you’re in a sketchy area. I think you hit on something really important here. If a woman is known to sleep around a lot, her company going to be highly sought after, especially if she’s genuinely attractive. As such, a promiscuous woman will often have her pick of the litter for flings and FWB arrangements. Why wouldn’t she choose the most attractive guys available to her? On the flipside, a woman who won’t put out until she’s committed has to wait to find a guy who’s willing to abide by her timeline. This is why you see…

An attractive woman is always going to be attractive, but certain types/styles of clothing can make her even more attractive.

I respect it. I'm very pro-transparency. Some people think they're being polite by not being up front about what they want, but that sort of attitude tends to cause a lot more problems than it solves. Yeah. Nobody wants to date anyone who doesn't value them/their time, and lots of women want a man who's willing to provide. Sure. I'm fine with paying for dates. Generally though, I try not to invest too heavily in women who haven't shown investment back. Until I see that investment, happy hours, p…

/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/25 04:09 PM

Not necessarily the case. Sometimes you'll see women who are willing to make out with (or do even more with) guys they met all of five minutes ago, but most of the time building attraction is a distance race, not a sprint.

And what about prioritizing one’s own needs necessitates treating others badly?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 07:40 AM

I think there’s a false dichotomy between being nice and being successful with women. No, being nice on its own is not going to have the ladies chasing after you. Being fit, successful, funny, charismatic, and assertive will bring the ladies in; we can easily observe this. However, if a man is fit, successful, funny, charismatic, and assertive, why would him treating others well detract from the aforementioned qualities?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 06:50 AM

Let’s flip this around for a moment (bear with me; I’ll explain why this is relevant in a second)- what are some examples of positive feminine traits?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 05:37 PM

That certainly does happen. I was mostly thinking of situations I’ve personally observed- when a woman cheated, the guy almost never took her back even if she wanted another chance. When a man cheated, the woman often stayed for quite some time afterwards (or even married him).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 05:35 PM
3

That’s a big reason too; didn’t mean to imply otherwise. I was mostly thinking of the women who are actively choosing to stay; not the women who want to leave but fear that doing so would put them/their children in danger.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 05:37 AM
15

I’ve seen examples of all four of the above in the bad relationships my female friends have ended up in. When women get stuck in such relationships, it’s usually one or more of these factors keeping them there: Wishful thinking (“I can change him!/He promised he’d never do it again!”) Sunk cost fallacy (“I’ve invested so much materially/emotionally into this relationship that I feel like I have to make things work.”) Coming from an environment where bad behavior is normalized (“That’s just how m…

Not Red Pill, but I think there are three primary barometers you can use: What kind of people does he spend his time with? How does he treat people who he isn't trying to impress? How does he react to things not going his way? Some abusive dudes are snakes in the grass who can successfully pass all three of these tests unnoticed, but you'll be able to filter out most of the bad guys by getting a good grasp on these questions.

You attempting to strawman what he said into what you want it to say - "aww shucks lady I jus weally weally thought you might enjoy what I have to offer 🥺👉👈" - is a framing I've consistently rejected. Well, we’ll have to agree to disagree on that front. “Delusional” in the colloquial sense and “delusional” in the literal sense are two very different things. Women's people pleasing is often a defense mechanism; there are lots of shitty dudes out there, and it can often be hard to tell which ones they are. Now, in an established friendship or relationship with a person they know and like, this sort of behavior can often cause unnecessary issues (i.e. Alex doesn't let Sam know that something is bothering her because she thinks it's polite not to stir the pot, so Sam never takes any steps to address it. This leads to Alex growing more resentful, and wh…

I feel like the statement "I know I'm a catch, and if someone can't see that, sucks to be them," is a pretty healthy way of thinking for both men and women. I also feel like "His/her loss" and "he's/she's delusional" are both ways of communicating that sentiment, even if one is unnecessarily harsh. Plenty of people will reject you out of hand or take you for granted without even bothering to find out what kind of fruit you are. While them doing that is out of your control, walking away with your…

I think what he means is that for a guy, it's best to respond to rejection by thinking "Eh, her loss- onto the next!" to yourself. There's no requirement for the woman to do anything; it's just better for the man long-term to walk away hyping himself up instead of getting in his feelings.

Because their brain developed in a way such that some extra stuff (feet, piss, etc) got tangled up with the part of the brain that drives arousal for "normal" things (boobs, butts, etc). A guy not having friends at all isn’t necessarily a red flag, but it often is. You’d have to evaluate that fact in the context of the guy’s personality and life circumstances.

My usual advice (and this goes for guys evaluating women too) is to ask yourself: Who does he spend his time with? How does he treat the people around him (particularly those who can’t do anything for him)? How does he react to conflicts/things not going his way? Yeah, some bad guys are extremely good at concealing their true selves, but you can filter most of them out when you have a good grasp on the above three questions.

most of my "chad" friends had mid/unattractive FWB and attractive girlfriends, it was kinda crazy. Yeah. When you’re looking for a FWB, it’s much easier to pull a mid woman who is hungry for validation than it is to pull an attractive woman who has no need for such validation (and can get a much better deal than most college guys can offer them).

I think the reason some people bear this sentiment (which I disagree with btw) is that “Chads” who are also LTR-minded, kind, respectful, and loyal are swiftly snatched off the market by enterprising Stacies. I would amend my previous statement to replace “sex” with “intimacy” (which can come in many forms; sex is just one of them). Humans need to feel close to others; there’s a reason solitary confinement is so destructive to us.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 04:02 PM

What the bathroom hardliners don’t realize is that the effect of the laws would primarily be having cis women who are very tall, are unusually muscular, choose not to shave their body hair, and/or have more angular facial features get harassed for no reason. In fact, it’s already happening

Well, 6/10 dudes date, hook up, and get married all the time. Go outside and look around if you don’t believe me. They’re doing so with 4s and 5s and 6s and maybe the occasional 7 if they’re lucky. The difference between a 6/10 guy who pulls and a 6/10 guy who does not comes down to the personality traits I talked about: confidence, assertiveness, charisma, humor. If he lacks those qualities, not even the 4-7 chicks are going to want to hang out with him.

Let us imagine Kyle, an average office worker making a decent but not spectacular income. He’s got a decently attractive face and is in decent shape. A 6/10 all around. Imagine Kyle asks the following two women out: A) An okay-looking, working-class chick from his apartment building. B) A megahot fitness influencer he sees while running on a local trail one day. Do you think both of them will give him the same answer?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 05:53 PM

I've tried initiating before (I wouldn't say "approach" because I already knew the dudes), and it's always ended in rejection, even when I was just after sex 😂 Imagine how us guys feel then. Rejection’s not so bad once you get used to it; you just learn to not take it personally and move onto the next.

An exercise that I’ve found helpful on this front is attempting to meet 100 strangers. The rules of the challenge are: You have to start a conversation with a person with no direct connection to you (so friends of friends/new work colleagues don’t count). The conversation has to last for at least 10 minutes. The conversation must go beyond the surface level. Doesn’t matter if they’re men or women, young or old, hot or ugly- just make sure that after each one, you take a moment to reflect on what…

/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 04:19 PM

Yes and no. Being introverted isn’t inherently unnattractive to women- a lot of gals swoon over the Mr. Darcy archetype. However, an extroverted guy is going to have a much easier time meeting women, and therefore get a lot more dates than the introverted guy.

I always advise my fellow men to pay for dates (chivalry is still a crowd-pleaser), but I also advise them not to invest too much in girls who haven’t shown some investment back (this investment can be sex, but it can also be things like cooking you a meal, paying for a date herself, etc). Until you see that investment from her, happy hours, picnics, and free/low-cost museums/galleries are your best friends.

People who reach a certain level of wealth often get fixated on the things their money can’t buy; this is why you see so many celebrities who seem to have it made crashing out over random bullshit. Drake wanted to be fully embraced by the culture. But no matter how much money he throws at his lawyers, he cannot change the fact that people are in the clubs every weekend singing along to Kendrick calling him a colonizer.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:59 AM

That’s why I used 7 and not a lower number. There’s a point at which personality can’t make up for a deficiency in the looks department.

Q4A: Who do you consider to be a 10/10 attractiveness wise?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 03:54 AM

I think a lot of folks (men and women) get validation from the idea that they're so special that they can swipe someone else's guy/girl with ease. It's a power trip.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:38 AM

I honestly don't think I've ever discussed my n-count with any woman I've dated. Never felt inclined to ask for theirs either.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:34 AM

Men who fuck around a lot are significantly more likely to have qualities that make women want to be with them (tall, fit, funny, charismatic, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:23 AM

To quote the Weeknd: "If you ain't my n****, then your girl single to me." Though I will say, that phenomenon isn't exclusive to guys. Most men will tell you that they get a lot more attention from women when they're taken than when they're single.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:21 AM

Q4W: When thinking of the men you’ve dated, were you usually attracted to them first, or were they usually not on your radar until they expressed interest in you?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 01:40 AM

In the 1k to 2K range maybe? I’ve spent the past 7 years of my life in the central area of a big city, and spend a lot of time out and about, so that’s a lot of potential exposure.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 01:23 AM

“…..” On a serious note, this is actually true to a degree. If you look at the types of dudes a lot of women thirst over, they’re just as likely to be a slightly effeminate pretty boy as they are a hulking bodybuilder (see Timothee Chalamet, assorted K-Pop dudes, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/25 10:43 PM

As many others have said, men are far more likely to resort to violence in the face of real or perceived slights. There are both biological and cultural reasons for this. A corollary to this is that men are oftentimes bad at expressing their emotions in a healthy way. This is mostly a cultural problem- many societies promote the idea that “real men” don’t need support from anyone, when this is very much not the case.

I've had several female friends "wingwoman" for me in various ways. However, some reasons a woman might not be winging for you: - She doesn't know what to do. Women are usually the passive ones in the human mating dance, so thinking of ways to actively help their male friends in their pursuits doesn't come naturally to them. This can be remedied by giving them specific instructions about how they can help; every time I've done this, they've been happy to do their part. - She doesn't think you'd …

Highly agree with this post. While it’s hard to figure out someone’s dating issues from the other side of a screen, a piece of advice that almost universally helps is “go outside”. Join rec sports leagues. Go to religious services if you’re religious. Instead of watching the big game at home, go to your local sports bar and look for folks wearing the same colors. Got a hobby? There’s probably a meetup group for it. The more people you know, the more likely it is that one of them will be the pers…

but I've noticed modern hollywood now only mentions the red pill when they want a comic relief or stereotype character. I find that somewhat interesting. I get what you’re saying, but I also think media in general is more of a mixed bag than you think. Even in movies where the shy nerd ends up with the popular girl, the popular girl ends up going for the shy nerd because she saw evidence of his strength (i.e. successfully standing up to a bully in more grounded works, or saving the city with his…

I’d actually argue that there are certain benefits to being a good person: FWBs who leave with a positive impression of you will oftentimes recommend you to their friends (assuming you’re decent at sex). People liking you will make them want to hang out with you more and invite you to more things, increasing the pool of people you have access to. Actually being friends with the people you sleep with is nice, and the quality of sex is generally better. Sure, you can certainly get more hookups by …

I actually do think that everyone needs a religion of some sort; it’s just that not every religion needs to have supernatural aspects to it. How do we define what is good? What’s bad? What should we aspire to? What’s your place in your society, in your world? You don’t need to believe in anything supernatural to have a framework you believe in and can use to answer these questions. To give a real life example, I’d argue that a lot of hardcore Marxists are more religious than most of the believer…

Are their personalities good for attracting women? Yeah. Are their personalities good for running a country/staying out of prison/contributing positively to society? No. Different personality traits are good in different situations.

Only one commented on it; I told her before because she was 6’1. She thought it was funny. I’ve done alright for myself on the apps- the girls I’ve gotten with off of them either didn’t notice or liked me enough that they were willing to overlook it. Perhaps some of my unsuccessful dates noticed, but I’ve got no way of knowing if that was their issue or if something else was.

When I showed my dating profile to my female friends, they all agreed I should list myself as 6’0 instead of 5’10 (and change). Their logic was that if I put my actual height in my profile, a lot of women would assume I was 5’8 and swipe left on me.

Personality is the MOST relevant thing, mon ami. It’s just that the personality traits that make you a good person and the personality traits that make you an attractive person aren’t always the same. A man who is passive, meek, and awkward will always do poorly with women, regardless of whether he treats people well or not. Meanwhile, a man who is assertive, confident, funny, and charismatic will do great with women, regardless of whether he treats people well or not. A person saying “assholes …

Something I’ve noticed recently: Some women will say they will only accept certain qualities in a man (i.e. 6 feet or taller, six-figure salary, etc). However, when you look at the men they actually end up dating, they are…not quite what she sayd she was looking for. I have one friend who will go on and on about her high standards, and then pull up to the function with the brokest, bummiest, most 5’8 dudes you’ve seen in your entire life. She will defend them to death when you point out that she…

You misunderstand. Women aren’t attracted to shitty personalities; they’re attracted to certain traits that some shitty guys have (confidence, assertiveness, rebelliousness, etc). Note that none of those qualities are things a good person can’t also have.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 04:34 PM

In my experience, most women don't actually know what 6 feet looks like. Estimating the height of things that are taller than you is difficult. I'm 5'10 and change, but just say I'm 6 foot on dating apps, and I've never had a girl comment on it (I was told by my female friends to do this so that girls don't assume I'm 5'8). Either they don't notice or I'm charming enough that they choose not to notice.

Interesting; I'll have to look at that article in more detail later. My initial response would be that I'd wager that the majority of the single women who don't have casual sex don't have it because they don't want to (which makes sense; casual sex is riskier for the ladies, a lot of guys aren't very good at it anyway, and promiscuity is looked upon more harshly for women than it is for men). While there are certain majors that I would only recommend if you’re thinking of going into academia and/or are rich enough to not need a real job, communications isn’t one of them. There’s lots of things you can do with a comms degree, especially if you went to a reputable school.

I’d argue that there is no such thing as “useless” degrees; there are only useless people: If your goal is to go to law school, you’re better off picking a reading-heavy major like history or philosophy than you would be with something like engineering. Furthermore, if you’re interested in a career that requires extensive networking or volunteer work (such as politics/government), you’ll want a major that doesn’t require to spend too much time working on problem sets in the library (such as poli…

I think that’s normal. There’s no one answer to this, I’m afraid. Every woman is different- some women will flirt with anything that moves, even if they’re not interested in 99% of the people they flirt with. Other women will give you almost no indicators of interest at all, and then tell you years later that they had the biggest crush on you. To tell for sure if a woman is in into you or not, you need a baseline of what her usual behavior is like. If a chick who’s normally very reserved becomes very chatty around you…

Not necessarily. An old FWB of mine described me to a friend as “a super sweet guy and an absolute dork”. That was 9 months of some of the best sex I’ve ever had. I think you err in thinking that “being a gentleman” and “being hot” are connected. You can be a gentleman and be incredibly sexy, or not sexy at all. You can be a “bad boy” who gets tons of chicks, or one who all the girls avoid.

6 inches isn’t average, but I do think that what most girls THINK is 6 inches is average. Speaking from experience, women tend to overestimate length by a inch or so, sometimes by 2 if you’re on the bigger side. Most pornstars are in the 7-8 inch range

It’s about male attention, but it also isn’t. To illustrate what I mean, imagine the following scenario. Arthur and Bill are both happily married men, and have no desire to ever cheat on or leave their wives. One night, the two go drinking together, and for the entire evening, women are approaching Bill, telling him how handsome he is, and trying to give him their numbers. I’m not really pressed about that. However, I did neglect to mention a more subtle and more insidious type of misandry I’ve noticed over recent years, and that’s the idea that men aren’t capable of feeling emotional pain in the same way that women are. I bring up this example a lot on here (I realize it can be tiresome, but it’s very useful for examining a number of social dynamics), but let’s take a look at the tv show Bridgerton. I have plenty of female friends who will often say things to the tune of “Men are trash” usually in response to some romantic misfortune. This is generally accompanied by blasting one of Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion or Ashnikko (depending on their demographic and level of anger/sadness). How many of them actually mean it? Not many, I don’t think. Most of these girls have brothers, fathers, friends, and boyfriends they absolutely adore.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/24 07:50 AM

Let me give a more illustrative example. Imagine twin brothers, both 5/10 in their appearance. We’ll call them Allen and Bill. Allen becomes skilled at making people laugh, has excellent fashion sense, and gets a high paying job right out of college. /r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 07:24 PM

I'm sure that's happening with a handful of people, but I don't buy that it's happening to a significant degree. If you're a woman and you wanted children prior, I doubt that a bad administration taking power would suddenly change your mind (unless you secretly wanted an excuse to not have children anyway).
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 07:03 AM

I'm agreeing lol. South Korea and Japan wonder why their birthrates are falling off a cliff and then make zero changes to their work cultures.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 03:29 AM

Wait, are you saying that forcing men to work inhumane hours at the office and then pressuring them to drink excessively makes them less likely to date?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 03:25 AM

This is the correct take, imo. Guys who were already doing well with women will continue doing well with women. Guys who were not doing well with women will continue to not do well with women. And women in relationships are not going to leave their partners over a TikTok trend (unless they were already planning on leaving anyway).
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 03:21 AM

Do you think it’s moral to pretend that you’re satisfied with your partner instead of letting them find someone who fully appreciates them?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 12:13 AM

You might like Buddhism. I’ve known several people who didn’t really buy into the supernatural elements of it, but still found that the philosophy of it brought them peace.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 12:11 AM

"Bad boy" in the romantic context usually means "A guy who is confident and assertive, but also rebellious and a tad irreverent." It's entirely possible to be a "bad boy" without actually breaking any laws, and equally possible to be a career criminal but fail to attain that elusive "bad boy" energy.

I don't 100% agree with this particular premise, but it's certainly true in some cases, and the reason why seems pretty intuitive. Many women aren't super interested in LTRs/commitment when they're younger, so it makes sense for them to date the most attractive/exciting guys they can find. When they do start looking for commitment, they start screening for qualities that they didn't screen for before, because those qualities aren't super relevant in a casual relationship. This is like saying “Hollywood action movies prove men want to be violent and blow things up and shoot people” I think you're missing the point of this post. You can be seen as creepy or embarrassing when youre confident with no semblance of social grace. This is true, but I think the general point (confidence is a key element of social skills) is valid. Many people from Latin American/Asia fetishize whiteness- it’s a holdover from colonialism that never quite went away. Interestingly enough, this doesn’t seem to have hit the Black community nearly as hard (though that’s not saying it didn’t hit at all; colorism is a very real thing).

Each team has four chances (“downs”) to move the ball a total of ten yards. If they are successful in this, they get a new set of four downs. If not, the other team gets the ball. The goal of the game is to score 6 points by getting the ball to the end of the field (a “touchdown”), or if they can’t do this, to score 3 points kicking it through a set of posts at the end of the field (a “field goal”). After touchdowns, teams also have the chance to kick for an extra point.

Have you approached most women?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 05:32 PM

Indeed. Most of the male love interests in the best known films are princes, and the ones that aren’t are still incredibly handsome.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/24 08:23 PM

That’s true. I make an effort to participate in local clubs/events as much as I’m able.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 09:50 PM

Avoiding loneliness definitely takes more and more effort the older you get- people get busy with careers and kids and whatnot, so making time for friends can be harder. The decline of third spaces and the rise of smartphones have aggravated the problem significantly.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 09:23 PM

I was actually in Scenario B for a bit (She wasn’t making quite that much, but she was still very well-off). It was fun! She ended up breaking things off because she wanted kids, and being in her mid-30s, she needed a guy who would be ready right away. Hopefully she finds what she’s looking for, because she’s really cool. I’d give A a shot too though if she had some ambition on her.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 08:46 PM

If it’s no permanent damage as long as I get to the hospital in time, absolutely. Playing on easy mode for the rest of your life is more than worth a year of physical therapy (or maybe less, depending on where you got shot).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 08:39 PM

This is generally true. I’m mostly friends with women, and they’re shockingly open about their love lives/thoughts on sex and romance. I don’t think I’d have been nearly as successful in my own romantic exploits if I hadn’t learned from them.

The domestication part is an important element of the “Beauty and the Beast” fantasy. “This man is already tame” is a much less fun idea than “No woman could tame him…until he met me.”

I've posted a bit about my friend and the possible romantic tension I have with her. To recap, we were part of the same friend group, she expressed feelings for me (which I reciprocated) but then abruptly changed her mind, which led to us becoming distant for a long while. A couple months ago, she called me and asked if I wanted to have dinner, which I took her up on; afterwards she asked if I wanted to make this a weekly thing. Over the course of said dinners, she would often ask about my love …

Most of my friends are women; I know far more about their sex lives than I do about any of my guy friends. The guys I know might say something along the lines of “I slept with this super hot chick last night”, but that’s about as much detail as they go into. Meanwhile, the women I know will often give the whole play by play, complete with colorful metaphors and comparisons to past lovers.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/24 04:34 PM

All women are different, and as such, the “signs” you are supposed to pick up on will often be different. I’ve known women who were fine with straight up grinding on dudes they had zero interest in. I’ve also known girls whose version of being forward was just standing vaguely near a guy and hoping that he talked to her. All you can do is use your best judgement and accept rejection with grace if you’re wrong.

Q4W: From your experience, do men or women slut-shame more?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/24 10:16 PM

Well said!
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/24 04:44 PM

Stories are stories; life is life. Most girls don’t want to date a psychotic vampire who keeps them locked up all day. However, most girls do want a guy who can take charge and “sweep them off their feet” so to speak. The psychotic vampire example is just an extreme reflection of that desire to feel passive and feminine, in the same way that James Bond is an extreme reflection of the male desire to feel powerful and desirable.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/24 12:11 AM

There’s a lot to it, but the core idea is that while men are usually praised for taking an active role in the romantic process, women were usually shamed for taking an active role. This goes for both men and women- women tend to slut shame far more than men do, and all over the internet you can find women of all ages discouraging other women from approaching men for fear of being seen as desperate. However, even though women are expected by society to be the passive ones, they’re still humans wi…

Others just say looks don't matter, any guy who gets laid by one nightstands a lot is a Chad. /r/PurplePillDebate31/08/24 04:50 PM

From what I've seen of my female friends, most of them are pretty open about preferring tall, handsome, rich dudes. That being said, a point in the Blue Pill's favor is that a lot of these same women will pull up with the most 5'7, least employed loser you've seen in your entire life, and will defend him to the death when other people point out that they're dating a bum.

Anyone who argues that men and women can’t be friends is implicitly also arguing that gay men can’t be friends with other gay men, lesbians can’t be friends with other lesbians, and bisexual people can’t really have friends at all (which would be a very silly thing to argue). Don’t care if my partner has platonic male friends; former exes and FWBs would have to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 10:29 PM
4

By that logic, gay men shouldn’t be able to be friends with other gay men. Given that most gay men irl have numerous friends who are also gay men, it stands to reason that being down to fuck and being friends are not mutually exclusive.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 10:26 PM

Well, if your goal is something casual, and you’re approaching women on the street, there’s a good chance that many of the women you talk to will be taken, not the types that enjoys casual sex, or otherwise unsuitable. With OLD, everyone’s intentions are out in the open, and you don’t even have to put in the effort of going anywhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 08:56 PM

We can agree to disagree on this, but the I think the overall takeaway is that getting laid is trivially easy for top tier dudes, whether they look online or in the real world. Not much point in comparing apples and slightly different types of apples.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 08:17 PM

Mostly because a model tier guy can get those meetups without even getting out of his pajamas. Plus, you already know which girls on apps are DTF, because they’ll usually tell you (especially if you really are model tier). I once matched with a cute girl on a dating app, and she invited me over to her place after 15 minutes of talking- quite lucky, since usually it’s not that easy. True- if the average woman could press a button to make her man taller, she probably would. In the same way, if there was a button the average man could press to make his woman’s boobs/butt firmer and better shaped, he’d probably press it as well. But just because some traits are desirable, that doesn’t mean that anyone without those traits is automatically doomed.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 07:27 PM

People are much more complex than problems in a textbook, unfortunately. It’s because the fantasy of “Beauty and the Beast” is incredibly appealing to a large subset of women. Take a look at romance media marketed to women. Ah, you’re so close to getting it. Our society is structured in such a way that it only could have resulted in the current paradigm. You can see it everywhere: Girls are given baby dolls to play with, while boys are strongly dissuaded from doing the same; this ingrains the idea early that childcare is the domain of women only. Boys are subconsciously taught that they are only worth anything if they are providing for others, which incentivizes boys to pursue high earning careers at higher rates; …

I don’t know why you’re acting like that’s a “gotcha”; I didn’t say that they didn’t. Women do usually take the lead on childcare, which is the result of a combination of social, economic, and cultural factors. Were some of those factors different, we might see the disparity lessened.

I find that a better test to filter out the gold diggers is to suggest free or low-cost activities for the first couple dates. Happy hours, picnics, free museums/galleries, hiking, etc. Girls who are actually interested in me are fine with this; girls who are just looking for a payday will bail or try to steer me towards something expensive.

I’ll take A-D and F for 12 points, bringing me to -7. I’ll take H (I’ve dated radfems before; their views didn’t really factor into my experience), J (crystal girls are fun!) and K (double income household? Why not?) to balance it out.

Improving your fitness, exploring new hobbies, and working on your social skills all have positive impacts on your life that reach far beyond dating. Why wouldn’t you do these things?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/24 09:51 PM

The majority of my friends are in relationships now or getting close to it, but I’m definitely not ready for that at the moment. Getting into a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship doesn’t seem like a good idea, so I think I need to start making more single friends.

From first to last choice: 1) Susan- My body count is higher than hers, so it’d be unfair to criticize her for that. I also love video games and anime, so we’d likely be a good fit. 2) May- I like thick girls, and shopping once a month won’t hit my pockets too hard. 3) Mary- She sounds like a great friend, but I don’t think we’re compatible. 10/10 would go to church with though! 4) Jessica- Once a month? Really? Count me out.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 04:23 AM

personality disorder or was it circumstantial difficulties? Not sure. I didn’t pry, since I’d wager that whatever it was would be unpleasant for her to talk about. She’ll tell me on her own time, I imagine. Personality disorder would be my best guess, though I’m not sure which one.

/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 03:02 AM

True true. I’m fine having her around as a friend tbh. We both handled the original situation in really immature ways (myself moreso than her), so I don’t blame her for distancing herself a bit. I also don’t know the full details of whatever her mental breakdown was.

Just had dinner with a girl who rejected me in college. We were cool after that, but not anywhere near as close as we were before; we would be at the same parties sometimes, but that was as far as it went. We hadn’t spoken one-on-one for about two years. A week ago, she gave me a phone call and asked if I wanted to have dinner, since her rec soccer league has practice near my place. Dinner was great- we talked and laughed like we used to. She also mentioned that she’d had a mental health crisis …

There are a million ways to fail at dating. Some men are out of shape. Some dress badly. Some are poor. Some talk too much. Some are too quiet. Some are too aggressive. Some are too meek. Some have nothing interesting to talk about. Some aren’t interested in anything other people are talking about. And so on. The problem with online forums is that it’s difficult to give specific advice for someone you’ve never met, so there’s a high probability that any advice one gives (outside of the basics) w…

There’s lots of useful intel you can get from the rumor mill if you’re willing to listen a bit. I started hooking up with one of my more recent FWBs because a female friend mentioned to me that this chick had just broken up with her boyfriend and was looking for a rebound.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 07:24 AM

I’m a guy; about two-thirds of my close friends are women, some of them quite attractive. How do I manage this? Well, it’s quite easy. I just make sure that my non-platonic intimacy needs are being met outside of those friendships. And besides, female friends are incredibly useful in improving your dating life. In addition to being able to do the majority of things that male friends can do, they can get you invitations to things you may not have gotten invited to otherwise, introduce you to othe…

"you don't get to decide if you're an asshole or not, other people do," which makes sense and most people seem to agree The term “asshole” is relative. If you’re in a toxic environment, surrounded by toxic people, doing the non-toxic thing could be perceived as asshole behavior. As an example, imagine a frat that engages in intense hazing against university regulations. In the past, people knew each other. Familiarity and moving in the same circles determined who you were likely to have the opportunity to meet. In a world like that, if you were a typical man in your 30s or 40s, dating a woman your age was just what was likely to happen, naturally. The slow decline of third spaces has fucked us in so many ways, unfortunately.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 05:21 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:31 AM

You see lots of partnered women going out to clubs to make out with random guys? Speaking from personal experience, yes. But as to your broader point, women certainly do have a higher activation point for their sexuality than men do, but that point isn’t necessarily all that hard to reach (the club, weddings, birthday/holiday parties, vacations, etc). A slightly above average guy who can put himself in the right place at the right time has the chance to pull way above his weight class.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:22 AM

Indeed. The next episode is primarily focused on criticizing him for not being honest about his circumstances, while nobody ever acknowledges the fact that he was, y’know, raped.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/24 05:17 AM

Then why are some women willing to make out with random guys at the club? Clearly some of them are lusting after dudes who just stumble by.

Something I noticed recently about how gender roles often harm men: The most recent episode of the tv show The Boys depicted one of main male protagonists being sexually assaulted. In an interview after the episode’s release, the showrunner (a man) described the scene as “hilarious”, and explained how he wrote the scene as a joke, even though all the examples of assault against women in the show are rightfully taken very seriously. Another example of this is in the series Bridgerton- the male le…

If chad sends them a 2am booty call message they will say yes. Well, yes. That's what makes him Chad- he can get casual sex with attractive women with very little effort on his part. However, this description of Chad also applies to women. There's plenty of women of all leagues who are doing casual sex that will answer "yes" to a booty call. I usually agree with you on most things, but getting a very attractive woman for a booty call is much more difficult than getting an average or below average woman for one. Why? It's because girls who are very attractive generally have guys in their DMs who are offering them way more than just sex (i.e. dates at nice restaurants). I’ll reference something I’ve noticed that I’ve often discussed here. Men and women from across the pill spectrum have confirmed that I’m not alone in my observation: Women will put up with a LOT more bullshit from their partners than men will. I never really did understand economically disadvantaged groups who support right wing economic policies. My family is quite wealthy- when conservative administrations have tried to do trickle down economics, the only trickling that happens is the trickling of champagne down the throats of people like us (at the expense of everyone else). If those folks want to give us even more money, then sure, I appreciate the gesture. But also, why?

The antagonists are the best part of the show imo. The comic book had the superheroes being one-dimensional cartoon villains, but the show adds so many layers of depth and vulnerability to them- yeah, they have godlike powers and often do monstrous things, but the show constantly reminds you that these people can’t escape their humanity, no matter how hard they try. It’s pretty common for women with low self-esteem or women who come from environments where toxic relationships are the norm to be confused or even off-put by healthy relationship behaviors. In the former case, they subconsciously think they deserve mistreatment, and in the latter case they’re seeking the comfort of familiarity. Either way, in my experience, girls in these categories don’t make up a majority of the female population

Some with short hair, and some a bit bigger. I’m not a very difficult guy to please. I’m not denying that female beauty standards can be awful and difficult to uphold, but I’d argue that they’re often reinforced by women (and companies attempting to pressure women into buying things) more than they are by men.

I think people get carried away with the evo psych stuff here, but I think there’s a kernel of truth to it. I’m also a guy with many friends of both genders (mostly women). The boys (myself included) are almost invariably more flexible in their sexual partner choices than the girls are. We can also see this reflected in swipe rates on dating apps, and in the many women on this subreddit who have noted that casual sex is far riskier for them than it is for men.

It’s just biology, no? A man can father children with many women at once, so he is incentivized to have sex with a wide range of women. A woman, meanwhile, can only carry one man’s child at a time, so she’s incentivized to be extra choosy about her sexual partners.

Hence the water testing. My usual move is to ask her to do an activity typically associated with couples (going to see a romantic movie, having a picnic somewhere scenic, etc). You can then observe how she reacts to your invitation and how she acts during the activity. If she’s not into you, no foul- she’s always inviting you out to places, so why is it so odd that you’re inviting her to do something? And if she does like you, then you’ll have a nice romantic story to tell later.

A girl who’s interested in moving from friends to lovers with you will usually make it fairly obvious (finding reasons to touch you, taking an inordinate interest in your love life, commenting on your appearance, asking to hang out one-on-one frequently, etc). If a guy sees these signs, there are plenty of ways for him to ‘test the waters’ without straight up asking the girl out.

You'll definitely have less obstacles if you look good, dress well, are in shape, smell nice, are charming and sociable, etc etc etc, and those things are worth pursuing for sure, but at the end of the day you still have to let your authentic self shine through I don’t think “be as attractive as you can be” and “be true to yourself” are in conflict. Look at romance media aimed at women, and you’ll see all sorts of archetypes as love interests: All-American jocks, tattooed bad boys, hard-partying…

Compatibility is the most important thing; definitely agree with you there. That being said, if you want to get a chance to find out if you’re compatible with a particular person, you first need to get your foot in the door. How much it takes to get your foot in any given door varies from person to person. But as a general rule, the more attractive, personable, and successful you become, the more doors you’ll have a chance of opening.

I find that a better way to think about dating is in terms of raffle tickets. You would like to win a prize (a girlfriend), and to win the prize, you need to purchase tickets (self-improve). The more tickets you buy, the higher your chance of winning the raffle is, but even if you bought a ton of tickets, it doesn’t guarantee your victory (particularly if there are a lot of well-funded guys around you who have their eyes on the same prize as you). If you win the raffle, great! If you don’t…well,…

Most people are not equipped to deal with even very high-functioning autistics on a daily basis. Speak for yourself 😂. Maybe folks aren’t equipped to deal with you on a daily basis, but plenty of us have people in our lives who love our company.

Speaking as an autistic guy, that’s not true. OP is painting with a brush the width of a steamroller.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 06:50 PM

It’s not about what you say, it’s about how you say it. If you say “Health and fitness are important parts of my life, and I want to date someone who shares my passion”, you’re unlikely to get any pushback on that.

How severe is your autism? I’ve done well enough for myself in dating, but I know that I’d probably be having a much rougher time if I wasn’t on the milder end of the spectrum.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 10:08 PM
1

With those of us on the milder end of the spectrum (which most of the autistic folks you’d have had the chance to interact with are), it can oftentimes be difficult to recognize the autism unless you know specifically what to look for. Furthermore, a lot of formally diagnosed people prefer not to talk about it with people they don’t know well, because the word “autism” comes with a lot of negative connotations, and some people will (oftentimes subconsciously) treat you differently. This can be a…

I don’t get why my man has a preference for white women when Latinas are some of the sexiest women on the planet. There are certain aspects of Latin culture that are astonishingly racist; Google the term “mejorar la raza” if you’re curious.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 06:15 PM

Not flipping. One in the hand vs two in the bush and all that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 01:24 AM

I really am grateful for the white women in my social sphere. Neverending stream of invitations for bottomless brunches and party barges.

Q4A: Imagine that your family is extremely wealthy. They aren’t public figures, so nobody knows that you come from money unless you tell them, but they’re wealthy enough to where you will never have to work again once you receive your inheritance. At what point do you let potential partners know about your background?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 12:20 AM

Why would she think you’re boring? Martial arts and hiking are both pretty interesting; lots of athletic and outdoorsy girls who would love to do those things with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 09:57 PM

Sounds like you do have things going on, and you mention that you’re dating. What’s the big issue?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 09:48 PM

The guys who say that generally aren’t the best fishermen themselves, but I digress. They don’t literally tell you, but I can tell. Well yeah. What you’re seeing is the thing that some guys do where they say what they need to to get a girl into bed, and then fade out to avoid commitment. The level of respect hasn’t changed at all; they’ve just gotten what they wanted.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 09:11 PM

If a guy genuinely likes you, then it doesn’t matter if you do anal on the first date; he’ll still like you. If a guy claims to have lost respect after having sex on the first date, not only is he a hypocrite, but that means he didn’t respect you all that much to begin with. Men and women are quite similar in that regard. When someone really likes you as a person, the games and timers are unnecessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 09:00 PM

The guys who would lose respect for you because you had sex with them too early aren’t the guys you want to have in your life.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 08:55 PM

That’s why I said “make out” not “have sex”. Some girls really are just opposed to fucking on the first date on principle, but they’ll almost always be willing to engage physically to some degree.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 08:49 PM

Does she have casual sex with guys she doesn’t see long-term potential in? Though I do agree, having kids does change the equation some. She’s got to vet the guy as both a partner for herself and as a father for her children.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 06:10 PM

Definitely agree. Like I mentioned, my original comment doesn’t apply for conservative-minded women who don’t engage in casual sex at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 06:09 PM

And let's be real, guys take these kind of women less serious. Why would you take a woman who shows you how much she desires you less seriously? Wouldn’t you prefer a partner who found you irresistible to a partner who was “meh” on you? have a friend that's like this, she goes out on dates with guys she really likes but doesn't do anything sexual with them for several months. Either your friend is an extreme edge case, or she doesn’t like these guys as much as you think she does. Sex and romance…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 05:35 PM

I don’t think this is all that common. If a girl genuinely likes you, she’ll almost always be willing to make out with you by the end of the first date (at a minimum). If a girl is “making you wait”, then chances are she doesn’t actually like you that much. (Edit: This doesn’t apply to girls who are especially inexperienced or especially conservative in their sexuality, but you can usually spot these sorts early on and manage your expectations accordingly.) That being said, there are a minority …

Only rich people age well and idk why. In addition to having less financial stress, rich people have access to a variety of things that help you age better: Tasty, healthy food Personal trainers and nutritionists High quality mattresses, which lead to better sleep Better skincare products and treatments (Sometimes) extra leisure time to focus on their health and wellness And if all that fails, there’s plastic surgery.

It’s always weird to see people who have authority over you (teachers, professors, bosses, etc) out and about, doing normal person things. I feel like we subconsciously think of authority figures in our lives as different from other humans, even though they really aren’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 09:11 PM

I’d probably need to take a shot or two for courage, but I’d give it a try. I can generally tell whether or not a girl is interested within a minute or so, so worst case scenario my ego gets bruised a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 09:08 PM

I don’t think anyone disagrees with the idea that statistically speaking, men who are taller, wealthier, and higher status do better on average than shorter, poorer, lower status men. However, the key word here is on average. If someone says “I make a below average income, so I can never get a cute girlfriend according to statistics”, that’s a misrepresentation of what statistics actually are. It would be easier for him to get a cute girlfriend if he were richer, sure, but there are plenty of ex…

There aren’t all that many people out there who don’t have a single attractive feature, even if they’re unattractive overall.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 10:57 PM
1

Speaking from my own personal experience, I’ve slept with girls I wasn’t attracted to a few times. In all of those cases, it was because I was extremely depressed, mildly (or very) drunk, and just wanted to feel something. The being drunk part helps with the lack of attraction; in the cases where I wasn’t drunk, I just focused on one particular feature of the woman that I did find attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 10:14 PM

Thankfully, it probably wasn’t a real thing
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 10:03 PM

I’d argue that the first step in gaining money and status is your personality. You’ve gotta be disciplined. Patient. Bold. Courageous. Discerning. Cool under pressure. A good leader (which requires charisma, empathy, and assertiveness, among other things). All the things I listed are personality traits. And if you’re having a hard time developing the personality traits you need to succeed, therapy can help you figure out why and give you an idea of the next steps you should take.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 09:42 PM

“Unite dream and day” is a nice turn of phrase. I’m going to start using that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 09:37 PM

There’s a good number of comedies where married couples are portrayed as dysfunctional or straight-up toxic (i.e. Arrested Development, Everybody Loves Raymond, You’re the Worst, White Lotus, etc), but I see your point. I think that it’s more common to see happy marriages in comedies because unless your whole show is leaning into a very dark sort of humor, watching marital issues isn’t particularly fun. You want to see some really toxic couples, a drama series is probably a better bet.

/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 08:45 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 07:30 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 07:02 PM

I wonder if wealthier or poorer men tend to have more children 🤔.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 08:54 PM

No. Things that bring happiness: Friendship, family, sense of purpose, fulfillment. These cannot be purchased. Things that cause unhappiness: Hunger, financial stress, chronic illnesses, living in a bad neighborhood, etc. These can be avoided if you have the cash to get rid of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 05:52 PM

The way I view it, money can remove things that cause unhappiness, but it can’t inherently give you happiness in itself. It does, however, put happiness within much closer reach- you can travel, afford the best doctors and therapists, engage in a wider range of hobbies, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/24 04:56 PM

The demark line is wherever you want it to be. You should have the exclusivity talk as soon as you know you want to be exclusive; if the other person isn’t on the same page, they’re probably not the one.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/24 12:04 AM

There’s an employee at my local grocery store who I’ve built up a rapport with; we spend some time talking almost every time we see each other there. I’d like to test the waters to see if there’s any potential there, but I also don’t want to make her uncomfortable in the event that she’s not interested 🤔. I can’t think of a good way to do this, so I’ll probably let the matter lie. But if any of y’all have ideas, I would appreciate them!
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 11:36 PM

There are plenty of people in this thread talking about the implications of Butker’s speech for women, so I’m going to approach things from a different angle- when he specifies that women in particular have been sold a lie about a career making them happy, what is he implying about men? There’s a quote I quite like: “If gender roles confine women to the home, they exile men from it.” The idea that men are supposed to be strong, stoic killing machines devoid of vulnerability or tenderness is a de…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 06:34 PM

True joy and fulfillment comes from relationships, not work. Family, not clocking in and clocking out. Well, yeah, but why is this a gender specific thing? Ask any man: “Would you rather work overtime at the office, or go home and play with your kids?” Any man with a healthy relationship with his family is going to pick the latter option. And yet, us men have the hustle culture forced down our throats. Society lied to us all.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 06:24 PM

Really? You’ll see a few terminally online folks who make snarky comments about homemakers, but nearly all feminists agree that the point of feminism is that the women who want to stay home can have that option, and those who would prefer not to don’t have to.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 05:30 PM
7

Depends on the person and the circumstances. There’s a huge difference between “going on 2-3 dates with someone you like, but exploring other options just to be sure” and “continuing to sleep around on someone you’ve known for several months and have introduced to friends”.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 06:32 AM
41

You’re not exclusive until you have the talk about exclusivity. However, you should consider that if you’re thinking of getting serious with someone, sleeping around in the pre-exclusivity phase will likely hurt their feelings. That being said, if exclusivity is what you want, you should speak up about it ASAP. If the other person responds to your request for exclusivity with anything other than a “Absolutely!”, then you should probably keep looking.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 02:10 AM

My boilerplate definition of “Chad” is “any man who can easily and consistently pull attractive women, without the women expecting anything (money, favors, gifts, etc) in return”. Chad can be rich or poor, tall or average height (or more rarely below average height), and of any race/ethnicity.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 01:34 AM

There are plenty of broke dudes who have done the exact same thing, and their wives stayed with them too. Women tend to stay in bad situations longer than men do; it’s an unfortunate fact of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 02:56 AM

Cinematography was great, and there’s one incredible scene with Jesse Plemons, but massive waste of the setting. I know the director has been out arguing that the causes or background of the war aren’t the point of the movie, but I don’t see the point of making a movie about a second American civil war when the plot could have been set during literally any real-life war from history. 5/10.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 02:49 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 08:08 PM

It’s not easy. And there’s no one solution for neuroticism. Maybe medication will help some people. Maybe therapy will help others. It all depends on what the root cause of the neuroticism is.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/24 03:53 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 11:34 PM

Indeed. People would be surprised how much they can accomplish if they can get their overthinking under control.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 11:05 PM

It doesn’t, in the same way that buying a raffle ticket doesn’t entitle you to the prize. If you don’t like your odds or the cost of entering the raffle is too high, just don’t buy a ticket.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 10:28 PM

Disagree based on experience. I’ve had sex with a number of women after using the opening line “Can I buy you a drink?” Could I have pulled these women without it? Maybe. But it certainly helped- one of these women said she thought it was sexy that I “treated her like a lady”, citing me buying her a drink as an example.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 10:25 PM

Whether we “should” or not is unimportant; The real question is whether or not it will help a guy get what he wants in the situation (be that a hookup, a number, etc), to which the answer is “Sometimes”.

Personally, I don’t subscribe to the belief “Once a cheater, always a cheater”, but I also think that if you’re going to give a former cheater a chance, there needs to be a measurable difference in their lifestyle and psychology (i.e. guy I knew was a raging alcoholic and total shitbag who cheated left and right, but got a lot better once he went sober and sought help for his issues). Girls can tend more to successful or hot as preference. This is a good point; I like to think of it as a “points system”. Agree with most of your points, but: Dating is exponentially harder for men than women at all levels of attractiveness. I think at the highest levels of attractiveness, men definitely have it easier than women. I’ve known a few of these guys, and they got all the dating benefits that attractive women receive (quality people throwing themselves at you, your pick of the litter if you want casual, etc), without any of the downsides of being a woman in general.

its not like i can just choose what to believe in bc its literally in the bible Yes you can 😂. Why do you think there are 300 different denominations? And besides, none of the Christians I know actually take Genesis as anything more than allegory.

It’s bad for you in the same way that alcohol is bad for you. It can be fine and even fun in moderation, but it’s also easy for it to become a major problem if you aren’t careful. I stopped watching porn a few years back.

Promiscuity can be affected by a ton of different factors. Parental relationships are one of them, but others include: Certain personality disorders Substance abuse issues (as you mentioned) Growing up in a very sexually open culture or environment And more. There’s no singular indicator.

According to Google, the median adult female black bear is 130 pounds. Seems normal enough.

For me, having an exclusive relationship is the first step to settling down. I’m not going to commit myself to dating one person unless I know there’s a possibility of marriage (though I don’t need to know for sure right away). I imagine many men and women feel the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/24 08:06 PM

They think the stability and comfort of a relationship would be nice, but either don’t like their current options, don’t feel emotionally ready for the hard work or relationships, or don’t want to settle down yet.

I actually agree for the most part. On airplanes, they always tell you in the event of an evacuation to put your own oxygen mask on before assisting other people. In the same way, you should help others where you can, but constantly setting yourself on fire to keep other people warm is counterproductive. In addition, the healthier, wealthier, and more skilled you get, the more effective you’ll be at inspiring, uplifting, and supporting the people you care about. A paraphrased quote I really like…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 10:08 PM

it has become incredibly taboo to group and judge people based on pretty much anything 😂😂😂 No it hasn’t. Look at the state of the Republican Party nowadays.

I’m a Black dude in America; plenty of folks see me that way regardless. I just live my life and ignore the idiots who hold that viewpoint.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 09:42 PM

People are taking the Man vs Bear discourse way too seriously. The whole thing started as a woman saying “Hey, it can be scary to be a woman in society, because there are a lot of bad dudes out there” in a tongue-in-cheek way. There’s no real answer to the question because one can manipulate any number of the variables in that situation to make one choice preferable to the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/24 09:37 PM

If I say lose weight, get a good haircut, and learn to dress properly, I’ll get downvoted to oblivion and called inconsiderate. This is probably the most common advice I see on dating subreddits 🤔.

Did you go to a dentist, or use an at home whitening product?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 05:10 PM

Maybe incorporate some relationship development time into your daily routine? Set aside an hour or two each day for talking on the phone, having dinner with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, or attending a social activity.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 04:56 PM

Some of the big ones: Not talking about problems in my relationship that I haven’t first spoken to my partner about. Immediately shutting down comments or lines of questioning that I have reason to think would make my partner uncomfortable. Not discussing our sex life (obviously there are certain exceptions to this). But as a general rule, I try to think “If my partner was doing X behavior with someone else, would I be bothered?” And if the answer is yes, then I won’t do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 09:03 PM

I have relationships with women who are supportive and listen to my problems, so it’d be hypocritical of me to take issue with her doing the same. That being said, there are clear boundaries I set with those women if I’m in a relationship at the moment, and I would expect my partner to do the same.

The quote “Any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king” comes to mind here. If you’re truly a high value guy, you don’t need to constantly hype yourself up to everyone. They’ll see your fitness, wealth, wisdom, and overall awesome lifestyle for themselves and come to that conclusion on their own. No narcissism required.

It certainly did happen in history, but I also question whether the peasant girl was actually in any position to refuse the king.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 10:59 PM

I think what this whole thing is actually talking about is in-group bias, which is certainly real and something that we could all do to work on. People naturally have an easier time sympathizing with people who are similar to them- men will have an easier time sympathizing with men, and women with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 10:54 PM

I wanna be a solid family man in a decade or so, and I’d rather not bring any villainous behavior into that scenario.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 05:15 AM

Should I go into a villain era now that I’m single again? I’m 24 and not getting any younger, so I’m not sure how many more chances for a proper villain era I’ll have. Once you hit 29 or so, it’s just kinda sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 05:13 AM

I believe in you, comrade. Those 4s will have their Stacy friends seething with jealousy when they tell them about the 6’4 dude they hooked up last night.

I don’t necessarily enjoy the act itself, but knowing that I’m making my partner feel good is a big turn-on.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 05:06 AM

I have to say, my biggest pet peeve is people cancelling things at the last minute. Like, I get that sometimes things come up, and we all have situations like that now and then. But I’m talking about when people knew very well that they might have to bail at the last minute the whole time, and still declined to say anything.

I actually sold my car. My office, gym, grocery store, library, and movie theater are all within a 5 minute walk from me, and I live right next to my city’s main nightlife district, so paying for parking, insurance, etc seemed wasteful. /r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 03:13 AM

Wasn’t a total outcast, but didn’t have a lot of friends either during middle/high school. When I got to college though, I would actually say I got pretty popular through a combination of concerted effort to develop my social skills and frequently hosting pregames for parties.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 01:15 AM

In that case, you probably don’t have too much to worry about. Even if you come on a bit strong at first, the girls will forget all about that if you can make them feel comfortable during the conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 12:43 AM

Practice smiling and asking questions. Most women are going to be at least a little apprehensive with men they don’t know, but having a smile on your face does help ease some of that. And everyone loves talking about themselves, so asking questions (either relevant to the situation or about them in general) is helpful.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 12:39 AM

I really wanna be an early morning gym person, but I’m a night owl by nature, so it’s hard 😭.

I mean, how are we defining ethnicity here? A person from a particular Balkan country would likely take umbrage to the idea that they are the same as as someone from a different Balkan country. Likewise, most Irish people probably don’t consider themselves to be the same as the English.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 12:32 AM

Edit: Misunderstood the question; I’d probably still go with white American man.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/24 12:28 AM

Probably less on average. I like to think I’m pretty funny, and I have a really deep voice that a lot of girls seem to like. Neither of these characteristics can be fully demonstrated on online dating, so I tend to do a bit better irl.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/24 06:07 PM

Indeed. If I’m considering dating a girl seriously, I want to be her #1 choice by a wide margin. If she has to carefully weigh the pros and cons of me vs. some other guy, I’ll make the choice easy- the other guy can have her.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/24 05:59 PM

Like they’ll talk about the importance of having a traditionally masculine man or an “alpha” male but their bf/husband looks and acts like an oofy-doofy twink. Once again, there’s often a big difference between what women say their standards are and what they actually are. Plenty of women will say they only want 6’0+ dudes with a prestigious career, but then post gushy instagram stories with the most 5’7 cashier you’ve ever seen.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/24 05:55 PM

Indeed. Would you be pulling more if you were a bit taller, a bit wealthier, a bit stronger, a bit more handsome? Of course. But every day there are men who are short, men who are poor, men who are skinny, and men who look like Ninja Turtles who go on dates, have sex, and fall in love.

I actually had a similar situation happen a week or so ago; would be curious to get folks’ perspective on this, especially the ladies’. A female friend of mine (who we’ll call Alice), told me while a few of us were out drinking that a lot of her friends thought I was attractive, including a girl named Bee. When she told me this, I asked if it would be alright if I talked to Bee; Alice said she “wasn’t the jealous type” and would be alright with it. Alice had spent a significant amount of time ta…

There is also entire swathes of women who are entirely invisible to men just like the men here are to women. Irl? Sure. But most of my friends are women (of varying levels of attractiveness), and most of them have used or are currently on dating apps. They’ve got lots of complaints about them, but one that I’ve never heard is “I’m not getting matches”. Nonetheless, I agree with your overall point. They do in fact matter, just not as much as some guys think they do. For example, most men, if asked, would say they prefer a woman with a nice ass. However, many women with pancake booties are still successful in attracting partners. In the same way, most women would prefer a tall guy, but every day there are short men in the world who are going on dates and having sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/24 05:57 PM

It’s really shows the core of the issue when men view sex as something just so easily available to all women I don’t think it’s necessarily that quality sex is available to all women, it’s that other kinds physical and emotional intimacy are more easily available for the vast majority of women. On the physical side, while women can definitely get sex more easily, women are also far more comfortable having non-romantic physical contact with their friends. This can vary by culture (men in South Ko…

Regardless of who you are or what you do, there will be some people who aren’t into how you live your life. I’d gladly date a woman like the one you described, but apparently there are some that wouldn’t.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/24 10:58 PM

As with most things, it depends on the people involved. In some cases, the woman was basically saying verbatim how she was feeling, and the man was being willfully obtuse. In other cases, the woman’s version of “communication” boiled down to her expecting her man to be a mind reader. It’s possible that both of these things could be true to an extent. But yes, on average, men don’t do as well with indirect communication. In a charitable reading, they may think something like “Well, she didn’t mak…

/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/24 10:45 PM

I think it’s a similar principle to how men talk about women getting plastic surgeries. When men say they don’t like that look, they mean that they don’t like when the surgery has been done in a way that turns the woman into a resident of the uncanny valley. Likewise, women don’t mind a guy who’s juiced, so long as he still looks more or less like a normal human being.

Not OP, but also have experience with women of almost every race. These are broad generalizations, but some of the things I’ve noticed: White women tend to be much more forward than women of other races when they want to hook up with you. I’ve only been with one East Asian woman; they don’t seem to feel Black dudes all that much. C’est la vie. More women of all races seem to prefer to take the submissive role than not, but this trait seems especially pronounced with women raised in conservative …

Stacy doesn’t have a roster. She isn’t trading a G wagon for 5 Kia’s. Yes, but a Stacy who isn’t looking to settle down will take as many G Wagons as she’s offered. I’ve known beautiful women who perpetually had offers from multiple rich dudes to take them on vacations, buy them fancy dinners, and come visit them at their ski lodges. Why wouldn’t she take the lot of them if she’s able to do so?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/24 01:14 AM

I get the point you’re making; there are a lot of bad guys out there, and you never know which ones they are. The monsters can walk and talk just like the saints. That being said, if you choose a completely random dude, odds are that he’s just fine. Even if we assume the proportion of men that would physically harm a woman in this circumstance is something absurdly high (say, 25%), there’s a far, far higher chance of being ripped to pieces if you choose the bear.

The stare and the smile are the usual standards, though unless you’re just naturally super attractive, you’re going to have to do a bit of work to get on these random chicks’ radar. Thankfully, the “work” you need to do here is just to have fun. Let’s say a guy goes into a club by himself, buys a drink, and then stands at a table by himself, bobbing his head to the music. He’s not going to have much luck. Now, if that same guy rolls in with his friends, and they’re all laughing, drinking and dan…

I actually agree that women need higher standards. When a girl is emotionally invested in a guy, the dude can get away with almost anything. I’ve seen female friends date guys who regularly engaged in cartoonishly evil relationship behavior, and they still stayed with those guys for months, or even years. Most of these dudes were absolutely not attractive or wealthy enough to be getting away with the bullshit they would pull.

You misunderstand. I was talking to a female friend of mine the other day, and she mentioned that she didn’t end relationships until she actively disliked the guy she was seeing, not just when things aren’t going well. Guys who have options generally don’t let things get to this point; they just bounce before or very shortly after things get to Stage 3. With guys who don’t have options, however, the math is different. These guys will stay in relationships they’re not really feeling anymore, but …

There are girls out there who do take advantage of their male friends of course, but whenever that’s happened to me, I simply demoted the offender to “acquaintance”. Just don’t do anything for your female friends that you wouldn’t do if the request were coming from a male friend.

Truth is that you can’t always distinguish. One girl’s being nice is another girl’s being extremely forward, and vice verse. That being said, the main indicators I look for are: 1) Unnecessary touching. 2) Often finding reasons for the two of you to hang out one-on-one. 3) Taking an inordinate amount of interest in your love life. 4) She only really does items 1-3 with you, and not with other guys in your social circle.

Q4A 30 and older: What was the most important lesson you learned in your 20s?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 07:25 PM

I’m interpreting this to mean “kinky, but not super obvious about it”. About 25%, based on the girls I’ve been with. About half had one notable kink or another, and about half of those you probably never would have expected it. I think that nearly all men can learn to adapt to meet their partner’s sexual preferences, but I’d say that about a third of men are naturally inclined that way.

I’m autistic; been pretty successful with women so far. A few notes: The more fit/well-dressed we become, the more likely it is we’ll be viewed as “quirky goofballs” rather than “creepy weirdos” Practice is key. Talk to as many people as you can: Men, women, young, old, whoever. Keep track of how your interactions go. If you find that an interaction didn’t go the way you wanted to, see if you can figure out why not, and apply the lessons you learn in the further. However, the most important note…

The person I was talking with sounded sincere, but you never know. Anyway, I generally agree with you- social media has increased the pressure on both men and women to aspire to unrealistic standards (see also the girls giving themselves eating disorders and high school boys using steroids). The only caveat I’d add is that average women looking for casual sex have an advantage in that top tier guys will often sleep with them (Whether they can get commitment from the guys is another story, but I …

Men are exposed to precisely the same stimulus in addition to porn, which is a never-ending supply of increasingly depraved acts men now expect as standard in bed. You actually see this quite frequently on this sub. Dudes are really out here unironically calling Zendaya and Emma Stone “mid”.

They can do it for either reason, or both at once. Women still frequently get dressed up for events that will only have women in attendance. But in the context of this post, we’re discussing the former case (wearing eye-catching outfits for the primary purpose of drawing men in).

Assuming that to be true, how should a guy who is genuinely nice and doesn't want to exploit people's insecurities or make people feel bad go about being less nice without coming across as contrived or feeling like an asshole? In the 1931 September elections, 3 million women voted for NSDAP candidates, almost half of the total of 6.5 million votes cast for the NSDAP."[17] In terms of voting patterns however, a higher proportion of…

Plenty of people use the word “oppression” to describe men’s circumstances. See the rhetoric used by any left-populist political party in history or in the modern era. You can be oppressed because of your social class, you can be oppressed because of your gender, you can be oppressed because of your race/language/religion. You can be oppressed because of more than one of the above.

Same was true for commoners regardless of gender tbh until monarchies became obsolete in mid-late 19th century and multiple revolutions happened. This is true, but if you look at the timeline of when various groups got the franchise/ability to run for office, common men almost invariably got those rights long before women did.

When feminists say they were oppressed throughout human history, the obvious implication is that men were not oppressed. It really isn’t. There are multiple types of oppression. Let’s look at America right after the Revolution, for example. You might not be able to vote because you didn’t have enough money to meet the property requirement. You might not be able to own property anyway because you were a woman. However, in the first case, a man could potentially scrounge up enough money to buy pro…

In most societies, women were either mostly or completely locked out of the political sphere. It wasn’t until the mid-1800s that some places started giving women the right to vote, and most women had to wait much longer than that. Some women did end up puppeteering their sons or husbands from behind the scenes (Edith Wilson is a particularly interesting example of this), and a handful were even able to wield power in their own right (Zenobia, Maria Theresa, and Dowager Cixi come to mind), but th…

As usual, I suggest that men think of approaching women like playing baseball. A guy who can get a hit 3 times out of 10 is doing quite well. The fact is, if he just hears "be yourself" he's going to do the same, and "be your best self" is going to lead to longer gooning. I prefer to replace “Just be yourself” with “Just be the best possible version of yourself”. You don’t have to sacrifice your hobbies, beliefs, goals, or feelings; you just have to present them well. For example, let’s say a guy is a really big fan of a particular anime, say Naruto. If this guy just sits in his apartment all day and watches cartoons, he’s not going to get very many dates. I’d semi-agree, but I think that being good at conversation and one-on-one interactions can be just as useful in the short-term as the long term. People, as a general rule, want to feel listened to, and often feel like others don’t appreciate them for the things they want to be appreciated for. If you can show a girl that you’re listening to her and can see her the way that she wants to be seen, you’re already halfway to the goal line.

If there were no problems, it wouldn’t be ending. I 100% agree. I haven’t seen the TikTok you mentioned, but I find it hard to believe that there were no problems whatsoever in that relationship- otherwise they would still be together.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 06:15 PM

Sometimes I wonder if the reason why many LTRS end on bad terms is b/c they didn't break up when they should have, probably from social pressures to stay together This. I recently received some advice that if you find yourself ready to leave a relationship, breaking up as quickly as possible is actually an act of love. Breakups are always painful, but the longer you drag things out, the worse the inevitable pain will be.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 06:13 PM

I think when people say they broke up for no real reason, what they’re actually saying is that the relationship just didn’t make them feel happy anymore, and it felt more like a chore than something enjoyable. This can happen for a variety of reasons, but if both halves of the couple have made a good faith effort to solve the issue and things haven’t changed, parting ways is usually for the best.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I think the key to sustainable, long-term male-female platonic friendship is ensuring that both sides are having their needs for physical and emotional intimacy met outside of the friendship. Both of these needs are easier for women to fulfill than they are for men: The physical part because a girl who just wants to get laid will have no shortage of willing guys, and the emotional part because women are societally encouraged to share their emotions with their frie…

I think there’s a big difference between where some women say their standards are and where they actually are. I have a number of female friends who talk about wanting a tall, handsome man with a stable income, but in reality end up dating the bummiest, least employed dudes you’ve ever seen.

I will say, just because a guy asks you out, that doesn’t mean they’re not interested in being friends with you. You’re right if the scenario is “both parents work full time, but mom takes care of all the household stuff”, but that’s far from the only scenario that exists. Plenty of men out there contribute their fair share to the household, and dudes that are actually high value (doctors, lawyers, athletes, executives, etc), can afford nannies and housekeepers. If they find their female friend attractive at one point in time, they will shoot their shot. In some places they did, but that’s beside the larger point- women in most of the world largely lacked the same privileges that men had. Men like challenges up to a certain point, but where exactly that point is depends on the guy. Some guys are eager to chase, while others will refuse to chase at all. Culture really has changed, and I blend the internet for making it easier for men to be loners. Yup. Pre-internet, if you wanted human interaction, you had to physically go to a place and talk to people. This, naturally, would lead to people having better social skills and more exposure to potential partners. Nowadays though, you don’t have to touch grass nearly as much, and I think the dating scene has really suffered for it.

There’s a social expectation that men are the pursuers while women are “pursued”. When a woman does these things, she’s saying through her behavior “Would you like to pursue me? I think it would be nice if you did.” You can call it manipulative if you like, but from a woman’s viewpoint, she’s just doing her half of the mating dance.

When a woman wants to go from friends to lovers with you, she will (usually) make it easy for you. Misogny has no impact in a man's sexual or romantic options I didn’t say that it did. I’m just noting differences I’ve seen among the population of misogynists (successful or otherwise).
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 04:28 PM

I can only speak to my own observations, but I’ve never met a guy who was successful with women who didn’t at least think that women were fun to spend time with (regardless of what else they thought of them). The ones moaning about how vapid/annoying/whiny they think women are are generally the ones who can’t pull any.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 04:26 PM

Also I know plenty of misogynistic men really successful with women, that doesn't seem to be a fundamental problem to them. The difference I notice between the misogynists who are successful with women and the misogynists who aren’t is that men in the former group generally do like women, just in a very condescending way (the same way a person might think about dogs). The misogynists who aren’t successful with women actively hate them.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 04:20 PM

I don’t think this has anything to do with female nature; it’s human nature. Anybody can get cheated on- doesn’t matter who you are or how good you are at what you do, and it usually has far more to do with the cheater than it does with you. Beyoncé, one of the most beautiful and successful women in the world, got cheated on by a guy who most would agree is below her league (not saying that Jay-Z isn’t high status; it’s just that Beyoncé is about as high status as a woman can get).
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 04:07 PM

Most of my friends are women; I spend one-on-one time with them pretty often.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/24 03:58 PM

Well, let’s use another example: Lyndon B Johnson. Did a lot of good things for the country, mainly accomplished by bullying anyone who wouldn’t get in line. Google “The Johnson Treatment”; I think you’d be hard pressed to say that LBJ wasn’t a dominant guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/24 09:55 PM

The WNBA has had a handful of players that height. Tallest to ever play was actually 7’2!
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/24 09:33 PM
4

Again, dominance is a neutral concept. Martin Luther King Jr was a dominant presence. He spoke, and people listened. He commanded respect. Adolf Hitler was also a dominant presence, for all of the same reasons. Regardless, in the context of this discussion, “dominant” as TRP uses it means “assertive and socially skilled”.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/24 09:30 PM
4

In my view, “dominance” is a combination of assertiveness, social savvy, and charisma. On an individual level these are indisputably good things to have, but they can be used for either good or bad purposes.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/24 08:06 PM
15

You do realize that “dominant” is a personality trait as well, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/24 06:12 PM
5

Right, which is why “straight” guys who occasionally like to mess around with men don’t talk about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 10:01 PM
8

I think it’s because there’s a sizable population of women who don’t want to date men who have been with other men, where as most guys have no qualms about sleeping with a bisexual woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/24 09:57 PM

I think people underestimate the corrosive effects of car-centric cities on modern dating. In places where walking or cycling are more common ways of getting around than cars, there are more organic interactions, people are generally healthier, and dating is significantly easier logistically.
