Thanks for your nice answer. I seldom set expectations, I'm just happy when he is with me. And yeah, it's mainly this strange sort of anxiety that is really bothering me - then I try to distract myself but lately it just doesn't work so well.

No - but I know why you're asking :D Although the toughest time is not when I'm on my period, but the week before. Quite a while now, about a year or so No, it's rather the other way around. I get needy and then I get angry. I know that it's nice to be missing one's SO, because I also think that this means that the relationship is healthy, but sometimes I'm just missing him so much.

See my comment above. She is married, but she never talks to me about her marriage. I seriously have no idea if her marriage is good or bad, I've always assumed it's good, but I'm not sure.

Thank you all for your nice words and solid advice. I'm not going to answer all comments, because I would repeat myself, so that's why I'm commenting directly. I can't fully agree with the crabs in a bucket mentality here, maybe I just don't see it, but that seems not appropriate here...but one thing I noticed while thinking about this issue again was that she never ever complained to me about her husband and there are several things that would bother me to no end if I were in her place. She has…

I totally agree. Most my of teenage years and early twenties I was the girl hanging out with only guys and always said: I just don't get along with women well. What I slowly realized was that every guy friend I had wanted to get in my pants. Even my best friend in my teen years. I always thought we had a very good platonic friendship - until I met him by chance a while ago and he told me that he was really sad when he learned that I'm married because he had a secret crush on me all that time. No…

I started taking the pill when I was 18 due to irregularities in my cycle. Then I met my first boyfriend with whom I've been together for quite some time. When I was 24, my mom urged me to try a non-hormonal BC because she works in the medical sector and thought it was unhealthy to take hormones every day when there were other options. I consulted with my OB-GYN and got the copper chain (something like a UID, but much smaller and more suitable for younger women - I think currently it's only avai…

Well I read the entire post and article. This was just my impression of him. I honestly don't know how I didn't follow the instructions. There is at least one other critical comment in this thread. Sorry, if I somehow offended you, it was just my opinion about the article. This thread was flaired as discussion, so I thought this was fine.

I agree that this is a huge red flag. But I want to give you my experience on a similar topic. When I was a teenager, I was treated for depression. When I met my husband, we talked about our past early on, because he directly asked me about any problems in my past. I told him about my depression and that it never been a problem again and my psychiatrist told me that it was probably a side effect of puberty. As we talked openly about it, my husband told me that he thought if the disorder was limi…

I'm not familiar with him at all, just read the article and saw the other articles in the sidebar. I can see he makes some good points, but the way he writes about all those things, it just seem exaggerated and I think he sounds unlikeable. It's not the content in the article that puts me off, but the way he writes.

Since I went off the pill, my PMS became hell. I would start crying because someone in the car in front of me would not pull away fast enough when the lights turned green. I started overthinking every simple sentence my husband would say to me. I had my peak when I cancelled a date with him because everything just made me cry and then called him in the middle of the night, crying, telling him how upset I have been at all the little things. After that I asked my OBGYN what I could do and she told…

My husband said it first, I think it was after 4 weeks of dating. We were lying in bed and he held me very tightly. And then he said: I know it's too early and I don't want to scare you away. But I cannot withhold this anymore: I love you. To be honest, I didn't even think about saying I love you simply because usually you don't tell someone that you love them that early. But I knew that I loved him, I just wanted to adhere to the rules of dating :D So I replied with I love you too and we kissed…

That article made the author seem like a very insecure man. And he has a very strange obsession with very fat women. The only point I found interesting was the one about the female singers and the linked noisy article, because that's something I already noticed myself.

My random thought this week was how the RP theory also manifests in people who have (as far as I know of course) never had any touching points with RP. My story goes like this: I have a very close female friend. She is not a best friend, but we're quite close and we go out eating for lunch a lot of times. So yesterday we went to lunch again. She is married to what seems to me like an Omega male and she is head over heels for him. Others already told her that he treats her badly because he seems …

Very interesting comment that was reprinted on that blog and definitely true to some extent. Did any of you ladies here actively experience Hypergamy? I'm asking this because I work in IT and I'm constantly surrounded by male co-workers, but it really never occurred to me that one of those males could be a better choice. And there are CEOs, teamleads whatsoever that are fit and intelligent and generally speaking high value men. And still, they are only co-workers and I would never consider them …

I second that. Because I know exactly what severe jealousy is. But your problem is not jealousy, but having an obsession with other relationships. You should focus on your relationship and your man. And: You should really focus on yourself. Female beauty can really be influenced. If you're built like a fridge, try a booty centered workout to alter your body in a good way. Learn how to use make up. There are a lot of things that you can do to improve yourself.

This is a very good point. I have a tendency to be irrationally jealous. If my partner would give me a reason, the relationship just would not work out. Instead, when I now get jealous, I know that it is my own fault and I'm working on improving myself - specifically keeping my emotions in check. So it's really not worthless, it can help you become a better person.

don't use shit products. This is so important. My mom always used only the best skin care products (not the most expensive though) and really new what kind of ingredients were in her everyday routine skin care products. She'll be 50 next year and her skin look amazing.

It brought me closer to my two best female friends, because I realized how important it is to have other women in your life that you trust and with which you can talk openly. The male friends of my husband. In the beginning of our relationship, I wanted to make a good impression on them, so I went to alle the parties and drank with them. I also defended some of them when my husband criticized them. His friends back then told him all the time that I was the coolest girl ever, but I noticed that m…

Ask him, why he still does it although he knows that it hurts you. This not not even have something to do with being a good captain or something like that. If you're a good person, you don't do things on purpose that hurt the ones you love. That's manipulative and nasty.

Normally (unless you have chosen a poor captain) your SO will not intentionally make you angry. He may have to tell you that you made a mistake, or he may step on one of your triggers by accident. This. So much. It was really hard for me to learn exactly this. If your SO accidentally triggers you in any way, don't assume that he does this to hurt you. If it doesn't happen too often, ignore it. If your SO does not know that it hurts you, talk to him, but not when you are angry. Rather chose a mom…

I also still struggle in such situations. I guess positive experiences such as the one I told above are the only way to encourage oneself to react in a positive way instead of lashing out. And yeah, I also thought about "I was just trying to help you", but that still seemed so passive-aggressive :D And it really took me some minutes to find the right words, but it was worth it.

I must say, I feel very lucky to have two girlfriends that mostly have the same direction of thought as I have, we also have the same values, so most of the time, they influence me in a positive way. They are the only two people I turn to in my circle of friends when I need advice and although we are on the same page most of the time, they also criticize me and tell me, when I’m wrong. But then I also know, that they are probably right. And they are also the only ones which I trust completely. I…

Good: I finally got a grip on my jealousy. This is such a big win for me. I visited my husband on the weekend (we're LDR for three months while he is on an educational/business trip) and he told me about the people he met and of course there were also female co-workers. I had an uneasy feeling, but then I just STFU and just listened to him. And it worked wonders. Not only did my bad thoughts disappear, but we also had an awesome weekend! Exactly this. It doesn't take long. One of my female co-workers once asked, if I wouldn't prefer to sleep half an hour longer than to apply make up. And I was just like "What? It takes me 5 minutes to do my every day make-up" People really think it takes forever to look decent, but that's just because they make no effort at all.

Thin is really hard to define, it's sooo subjective. My BMI is 22 (though I probably look a bit slimmer since I'm lifting weights and gained some pounds because of it), my WHR is 0,67 and I have a D Cup. Body type probably hourglass. Now, my best friend thinks that I shouldn't lose any more weight, because she already now thinks that I'm too skinny. My husband thinks I'm perfect the way I am. It's an absolute mystery to me how women promote sleeping around. I have a very good friend and she was in a LTR when she decided that she needs to find herself before she can settle down. She left her bf and started sleeping around. In only two years she slept with 22 men. And now she's 30 and complains that men are baffled when she tells them about her past. She is my best example because at first she also told me how she feels empowered and desired when she can sleep around, but just recently…

I just wanted to report back after I trief the inversion method. I did it only 5 days in a row because I was traveling on the weekend, but: My hair grew in only these 5 days about 1 inch! The good: I spontaneously decided to visit my husband on the weekend (he's on a business trip currently, but not too far away) and prepared food for the whole weekend. We were both very happy to spend time with each other and my husband was very happy about some home made food after going out to eat the weeks before :) The ugly: The week before I gave him a hard time on the phone because of one of his female co-worker who's also on this business trip (there are also a few male co-workers, so not…

Haha, something that really seems to connect the RP ladies here is the fact that they like butt slaps :D I think my husband and I are a HLH couple. Sometimes I feel like HHH, but I think most of the time it's really HLH. I've started weight lifting half a year ago, before that I did bodyweight exercises at home, but they became boring - so I joined a gym (help me to have a not so much restricted diet, because I love good food) But one thing bothers me to no end: I cannot manage to do ONE SINGLE PUSH UP. Accepting anything other than the basic, intrinsic value of human life leads to a degenerate society (where the instrinsic value is the right to live and nothing more, nothing less. Value beyond that has to be earned). Another way of wording it: having each human life have a right to their life is necessary for a society to thrive. This. So very much. I just don't get how our today's society encourages people to just do nothing. All these kids going abroad to "find themselves" and expect to get …

My husband wanted us to live in a house with his parents, because his mom is sick and he wants to take care of her. My girlsfriends (except of my best friend) went nuts. "How can he expect that from you?" "You're an independent woman and it's the current year!" "No sane woman would move in with her in laws!" Guess what? Related to cleaning your shoes: How do you prevent that shoes, which you wear without socks (sandals, peep toes etc.), start to smell after some while? I think you should talk to him about it. As you stated yourself, there is a ton of possible reasons why he visited OKC. And the more you think about it without talking to him, the worse the scenarios in your head will become and you'll make a mountain out of a molehill. And the worst is: The longer you wait to ask him about it, the more upset you become and the more likely you will create a shitstorm about something that is probably not even an issue, but in your head it became one. I'm currently fighting my own insecurities. Recently, a (male) friend of my husband started making remarks that make me feel like I married a player that will never change. I know that this is not true and I trust my HB 100%. Still, that's somehow gnawing on me and I'm wondering, why his friends says such things. Absolutely. Never understood how someone would think that it's a good idea to send someone a naked picture of themselves. First, you can never be sure how things will turn out and what the other person will do with your pictures. I've had years of severe PMS symptoms. I was insecure, bitchy and just wasn't fun to stand around. This all started when I replaced the pill with a copper IUD. PMS was a real problem for me, because I would start to cry because of nothing and made a scene out of nothing. That was a real pain in the ass. Seriously ladies, if you have a problem with PMS, talk to your gyn about it. I did and got a prescription for vitamine B6 which did the deal for me. I think PMS can be a real problem, but there a…

While that may sound easy, I think it's hard to implement in everyday life. Maybe I can give some examples of the traits that I've found important and learned afterwards that they are so called alpha traits: He has clear goals in life and is persistent in achieving them. Take for example career stuff: A guy who is around 30 and has had a few jobs, but never made it in one of those and his only goal is to get another mediocre job: Not very alpha. He is a leader.
