A lot of times when this happens, it's pretty much a sure firing from the beginning, but they have to spend time with paperwork and attorneys to make sure that everything is legal so that when the firing happens, the appropriate documentation exists and protocol was followed so that she can't come back and sue the hospital to keep her job or pursue financial reparations.

What you and I are describing are two very different things. You're talking about letting loose and having fun to relieve stress. It absolutely fits the crime in this case. She's a doctor, she's held to a higher professional standard that comes with the prestige and financial compensation of the career. if she's an Average Joe, then I would agree with you. But she chose a career where practicing medicine is a privilege, not an entitlement. she's expected to uphold a higher standard for herself. Playing devil's advocate, if a dude had assaulted her then he likely would have been taken to jail and likely be terminated rather than just put on administrative leave. She's a medical professional who implicitly agreed to uphold a higher standard for herself at work and out of the office. It's a basic tenet expected of all doctors when they enter the profession. Since she clearly broke it and demonstrated some serious character flaws, it's the medical community's ethical obligation to take away her license.

Oh I know. I went to school with many of them here stateside. They tend to party hard because school is stressful, but there's partying because school is stressful and you need to unwind, and then there's partying because you're on a Caribbean island full of good looking people and the standards of admittance and clinical training are lower. She went to medical school in Grenada, which is one of the plethora of Caribbean med schools. I've had several friends who have attended them. Many told me that it's just one giant party all year long where hot and wealthy students end up if they can't make it into the more prestigious US med programs. I'm sure the partying bit is exaggerated, but from what I hear, these students tend to have a harder time matching into competitive residencies compared to the stateside MD's and DO's.
