I feel like this with the old lady cat I adopted (no garden/easy outside access so no dogs for me right now)! An animal companion is soooo much better than a creepy guy who expects you to do emotional labour for nothing in return.

My instinct was no, I was just making sure I wasn’t being overly cautious... I also wouldn’t have let him inside the car park to the building let alone my flat... it was just a question.

Yeah I’ve done this! Found his social media accounts and his place of employment.

Very very good point. That’s what my head went to at first, but I’ve just finished watching Mindhunter so I was worried I was being overly cautious 😂

This is sort of where my head was at. Thank you for the confirmation - glad I’m not being overly cautious!

This is a really big thing in the UK - or at least where I live!

This is perfect, thank you so much. Congratulations on finishing your post grad! I think that finding success and working on my career and studies is definitely the best thing for me right now, and it is definitely a relief to know that the door on him is closed and I can move away from it. 💖

I’m not sure saying I move away again on the 11th is too eager, I was just letting him know when I was leaving the area.

Literally exactly what’s happened to me 😂 thought he seemed pretty alright but now I’m just bleh.

It’s honestly so frustrating.

He’s doubled down asking what I want to do. Should I straight up just say dinner or leave it to him entirely?

Just finished things with my ex (stupid to get involved again, I know) because he was hiding me from everyone in his life. I deserve to be shown off, not hidden.

I recently let myself get drawn back in by my ex, and it ended very badly last night. My goals for 2020 are to be more selfish with my happiness and not compromise on my worth. I’m gonna finish my degree, start my career and prioritise myself over anything else. And I’m NEVER speaking to an ex again. Lesson learned!

It’s truly one of my pet peeves and something that happens sooo much. I’m glad you put him in his place, I’ll definitely be doing this next time.

We’re always ‘rude’ when we aren’t telling them exactly what they want to hear. You go girl!

I’m so proud of you. You did an amazing thing standing up for yourself.

It’s honestly hard to not lose hope isn’t it! Feels like every man out there is exactly the same.

Yeah, I’ve deleted his number and I won’t be replying. Just soooo gross

Ahhh this makes sense, I didn’t consider this perspective. Thanks!

I’ve replied to this point several times already, my response was intended to be jokey. It was just a bit of bantering that he grossly overreacted to so I doubled down.

It’s a kiss, think it’s just a British thing - we just do it to be nice/polite!

Yeah as previously stated, at that point I wasn’t joking around as he had called me arrogant. I doubled down on my point to back myself up. My initial response was just a joke, it’s really not that serious.

I didn’t say ‘I know’ :)

My response was intended to be jokey, I wasn’t agreeing with him. But after he responded in that manner I doubled down. I didn’t assume he was doing anything, I was bantering and he grossly overreacted.

Calling someone arrogant for making a joke response is an overreaction. If that’s the sort of behaviour you’re fine with then that’s chill for you, but not for me.

To be honest I wasn’t even agreeing with him at first, I was just trying to be jokey but the way he responded made me double down on it.

To be honest my initial response was just meant to be kind of jokey, I didn’t expect him to call me arrogant because of it! I like that strategy though, think I’ll employ it going forward :)

He stated a question, I essentially answered it. My response wasn’t intended to be that serious, and he completely overreacted. If I tell a 6ft guy that he’s 6ft, should he thank me?

Oh of course, it was the next thing I did after taking the screenshot. Not putting up with that behaviour!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
