Advice needed pleaseOur communication with regards to decision-making is great. We are both very easygoing and keep each other in the loop on nearly everything, all the way back to when we were kids. He and I are both considerate of each other so most everything goes off without a hitch and everyone is happy, or can at least see the compromise. So if one of us puts their foot down, it’s a really big deal. I’ve only done it once before because I don’t want it to lose its weight—but I’m truly uncomfortable at the ide… | /r/RedPillWomen | 19/05/18 11:11 PM
Advice needed pleaseReally, it’s no bother, apologies not needed. They’re just words on the internet. I’m grateful for your (and everybody’s) advice. I mentioned in other replies that I have medical conditions that make housework difficult. So it’s a bigger deal now than it normally would be. Looking back I really should’ve included that in the post. (Whoops!) And thank you for your kind offer, I just might :) | /r/RedPillWomen | 19/05/18 10:43 PM
Advice needed pleaseIt’s not always ever easy to do, but STFU allows me to reflect, organize my thoughts, and approach with better perspective. You can’t unring a bell, you know? Ed and fiancé’s son are half brothers. Fiancé was a bit of a father figure to all of his ex-gf’s kids for a while. This is ex-gf and Ed presenting their problem to fiancé. The truth is, I’m not sure how it’s our responsibility either. I feel it’s rather inconsiderate to make such a large request on such short notice. | /r/RedPillWomen | 19/05/18 10:19 PM
Advice needed pleaseThank you. I’ve considered this, but how would I enforce it? I’d be home alone with them most of the time as my fiancé works 45+ hours a week. What are my options other than drive him back to his mother myself? I can’t put him on the street and I can’t enforce anything as he’s an adult. I know I’m hamstering big time because I know there’s a reasonable response, I just can’t think of one. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 10:39 PM
Advice needed pleaseThank you very much. I’m sorry for not pointing this out but I have some medical issues that make housework difficult. It’s not insurmountable but the additional work will definitely take its toll. I’m not sure if you have older sons or younger brothers, but they eat quite a bit! It’s just because they’re growing, though. Fiancé and I eat frugally and I feel like it’s likely our grocery bill will increase noticeably, as they are picky eaters. I don’t think I’m being petty because I really don’t … | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 10:17 PM
Advice needed pleaseI’m sorry for any confusion. My hamster was going nuts when I wrote this. We will definitely talk about this. I just prefer to talk after my head is cooled. I don’t like to be irrational, especially when making important decisions. The 18 year old is not my fiancé’s son. He is my fiancé’s ex’s son with another man. All her children have different fathers. Let’s call him Ed. Ed’s friend would not be staying with us. We were going to bring Ed with us from [state] when we go to pick up fiancé’s son… | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 10:07 PM
Advice needed pleaseThank you for your reply. I don’t know that the older son would listen to me if we assigned chores. He is not my fiancé’s son. I strongly doubt we’d receive anything from the ex. They live on government assistance but quickly spend what they have on comforts like toys, clothes, and electronics. She is not employed and their housing situation is tenuous. They move often. My concern is not so much that he’d leave, it’s that he could do what he wants and there’s little I could do. What if he meets … | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 09:52 PM
Advice needed pleaseThank you. The oldest is not my fiancé’s son. All her other children have different fathers. The increase in chores are a bit more of an issue for me due to medical conditions. I am not excusing my abilities but the increase will affect me more than most. I would love to bond with her other children. I’ve tried. I’ve made picnic lunches, we’ve taken them on day trips a couple of times—and the extent of their communication with me is “Will you buy me this?” (They don’t even greet me when we pick … | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 09:34 PM
Advice needed pleaseI apologize for any confusion; the 18 year old is not my fiancé’s son. All her other children are fathered by different men. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 09:03 PM
Advice needed pleaseThank you so much. I see now that my reasons are all rationalizations for being responsible for this young man that I really don’t know. I suspect my fiancé is nice-guying to capitulate to his ex. She has been vindictive about things in the past. That’s only an assumption, but I feel it’s valid. The oldest child is not my fiancé’s son. I would not refer to him as I have if he were. I handle our finances. We are financially conservative and depending on how much he eats will determine how much of… | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 09:00 PM
Advice needed pleasebring your captain the problem, not the solution Thank you so much. I didn’t STFU because I wanted to hide my feelings. I did it because I didn’t want to say some things while having too much emotion and not enough perspective. We will definitely talk before he makes his decision; that’s just how we are. Thanks again. | /r/RedPillWomen | 18/05/18 06:16 PM
