How to show my ex-wife's new boyfriend that he has no authority over my children or me.This reads like ragebait to me. The answer is simple, let the other person do what they will. How do you want to respond. A pop in the jaw will solve nothing and only give this dude the knowledge that he owns you (because he has driven you to such an action). | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/26 09:39 PM
27 yrsUse this to help you become the person that you want to be. You're best option is to fully own your role. You cannot control anything but your own response to this | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/26 03:30 PM
I have a lack of empathy for any man willing to marry at this point.Forgive me then, for overgeneralizing what I thought you had said. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/05/26 06:02 PM
| -1 | I have a lack of empathy for any man willing to marry at this point.Honestly, I see so much shade toward women in this sub. This post is a great example. Do you really think that all women are like this? Maybe the problem is the people that you associate with. Do you not see that this is a form of bigotry aimed at women? Yes, there are shitty women out there. And there are women with very different values, needs, and desires than you have. But there are also women with similar ideas about what a good life is. Find them. Hang out with them. Marry them if you want… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/05/26 05:26 PM |
Trying to understand why some divorces feel sudden to one spouseYour theory makes sense. But I’m always surprised by the people who are blindsided. How can you be in a marriage relationship and not know that it’s on the rocks? Were you happy? | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/05/26 05:58 AM
Any post divorce success stories?I thank god, the universe, and allah every day for my divorce | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/04/26 05:06 AM
Ex-wife’s boyfriend loves to talk shit and taunt. He can’t make you feel any way. You own your feelings. You can only figure out the best next move when you’re not elevated. It’s hard. But it’s the one true path that I’ve found | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/01/26 05:07 AM
Men who went to therapy during or after the divorce. What did you learn? So much. Yes, it was all my fault. But not in an accusatory way, in a way that showed me why it didn’t work. And in a way that showed me my ex’s flaws as well. It has taught me to be myself. I am happier now than I ever dreamed possible. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/08/25 05:16 AM
Did anyone find love after being divorced in late 30s?Yes. But I was early 40s. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/25 03:16 AM
I (M/46) just started dating a widow (F/38).Congrats! Happy for you. I’m dating a widow as well. I’m also dating a widow. It’s a beautiful thing | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/02/25 03:26 AM
Wife Buying me out of MortgageThis is what I don’t get. To get the cash value, one must sell. Hence including fees. Your logic sets up a situation where one party must pay all fees, or both parties sell and share fees. Why not just share fees in both cases? | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 08:27 PM
Wife Buying me out of MortgageAlso, capital gains on stock are much different than real estate fees. Capital gains are only counted against the gains. Real estate fees are counted against the whole value of the property | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 08:08 PM
Wife Buying me out of MortgageIf multiple homes are involved, then maybe the fees cancel each other out. But in the case of a single $2M home, the fees will be more than $100K. This $100K can be relatively large depending on the principle owed. My point here is that you’re taking an asset and coming up with the cash value. But ignoring about 8% (6% broker fees + 2% getting the home ready for sale). | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 08:06 PM
Wife Buying me out of MortgageYeah. I just disagree. Ofc this has nothing to do with you personally. I just wish I could understand your logic. Beyond just not wanting to. The actual cash value of the home is as I described above. Is there a reason to calculate it otherwise? | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 07:08 PM
Wife Buying me out of MortgageBecause you’re trying to get the cash value of the home. The cash value is [sale price] - [mortgage principal] - [fees]. It seems like a glaring omission to me | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 06:59 PM
Wife Buying me out of MortgageI’ve never understood not including sales fees in this calculation | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/24 04:50 PM
