I 1000% agree with you, porn is cheating. It’s disgusting how normalized it has become. My ex is a porn addict and it destroyed my self worth. I will not date another man who watches porn. I know it will be hard to find a guy like that, but I won’t give up on it.

Just in general. I know HVM’s and most of them think that anime is creepy and weird. Every guy I know that’s into anime has a porn addiction too. I’m not saying that every single anime watcher is addicted to porn, but just all of the ones that I know personally are. It’s just a huge red flag and dealbreaker to me. I turned down a guy once because he was obsessed with anime and wouldn’t stop talking about how he’s a “weeb”. Super unattractive.

That’s good he’s HV! My ex was LV for several reasons, anime not even being one of the main ones. It’s completely justified to think that anime is an unattractive hobby to have. If it’s a dealbreaker for you, nobody should judge you because it’s YOUR relationship, not theirs. I have some uncommon dealbreakers for relationships too. Definitely decide if it’s enough of a red flag to consider ending the relationship over, or if it’s something you could work through. Does he know that it bothers you…

Back when I was dating my ex, something very similar happened. He got into an anime show and started reading manga, it really rubbed me the wrong way. Anime is a red flag to me and I strongly dislike it, it’s just a personal thing. I felt less attracted to him when he started getting into that anime show. It’s such a turn off for me. I feel like I’ll get hate for this comment, but your concern is completely justified. Usually a HVM isn’t into anime. It’s completely okay and justified to have pre…

I think it’s very unattractive, I personally wouldn’t date a guy who wears it.

Don’t say it 7 months into the relationship after spending an entire week together 💀 (luckily that relationship is over now)

It just seemed like a red flag because he got rejected by dozens of women before me, it just seems that there is something about him causing women not to be interested. I was the first/only one who was interested after him asking out so many women. Not completely sure though, just a thought!

It does! I can find people attractive, but that’s completely different to me than sexual desire. I found my ex physically attractive when I met him, but sexual desire built over time and as our emotional bond grew. If I see an attractive guy I can think to myself, “he’s nice to look at”, but for some reason my brain can’t see him sexually unless I have an emotional bond with him. Building an emotional bond makes someone even more attractive to me than they already were, and having that bond open…

Lying is wrong, it is not acceptable to lie about this at all, imo. The right guy won’t dump a woman just because of her inexperience.

Emotional bond is a lot more important to me, but physical bond does matter too. I personally can’t find someone sexually attractive until I have a strong emotional connection with them. For a successful long term relationship both are needed, but emotional comes first for me personally.

Thanks! I’m already really fit, I’m average looking so I’m out of luck here unfortunately. All I can really do now is work on my acne I guess

It does unfortunately, I just didn’t think of it much. It just goes to show how unfair life is. I can do everything right, but get left behind just because of my looks which are something I can’t even change. It’s a cruel world out there. No guy will ever fully be satisfied with me just because I’m a 5 or 6 out of 10. Even if he loves me, he won’t truly be 100% happy just because there are other women out there who are prettier. It’s such a cruel world. Kindness and personality doesn’t get you a…

Haha I’m the furthest thing from a leftist. I’m usually not the type that says “all men are bad” because not all men are bad. However, all men I’ve pretty much ever interacted with (besides family) care about JUST looks and not anything else. Even if I give a guy my heart and treat him like a king, it wouldn’t mean much to him because he’d rather it be a 10/10 woman rather than me, who’s a 5 or 6. Even if a guy is happy with me, he’d be happier if it’s a more attractive woman. I’d prefer for guy…

Lol everyone told me he was ugly after he broke up with me, they just felt too bad to tell me while I was still in a relationship with him. He’ll only be satisfied with a model because of how pornsick he is, so good luck to him I guess. He tricked me into thinking he was gonna marry me next year too. I love how you just automatically take his side…

He told me he doesn’t have any options lined up and doesn’t plan on getting into another relationship for a while. This just shows how superficial of a person he is. He also broke up over text if you need another example of what kind of person he is

Yes, it’s frustrating. My bf was super porn sick and would probably only be satisfied with a model as a gf. Looks matter to guys a LOT

Guys definitely value looks as much as women and maybe even more than women. My bf of over a year dumped me recently BECAUSE my looks weren’t enough for him. That’s pretty much the only reason why he ended it. My lack of looks.

Yes it’s completely reasonable, I actually think that it causes a lot of issues if a man stays friends with a women they’re attracted to who rejected them romantically. If a man stays “friends” with a woman who rejected him and he eventually starts dating another girl, how can that new girl possibly feel special or feel like he’s committed to her if he’s keeping other attractive women, who he has this kind of history with, around like this? The new girlfriend could very easily feel like a backup…

Men and women cannot be friends, plain and simple. I know it’s a hard truth that many people don’t want to hear.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! His closest friend is also Christian and he plans to join some sort of Christian group at school this fall. Yes that's definitely a great thing about RPW! Early in my relationship, my boyfriend was extremely immature, made mistakes, and wasn't very committed to me. I really thought he'd never come around, but he finally has the last few months or so. He's very committed to me now and has grown and matured so much recently. I finally have hope! It's been…

Thank you so much for your advice! I brought up those female friends last night and told him it’s totally okay to see them in groups, because it would be unfair to not allow that if I’m friends with this coworker (although I never plan to actually hang out with him). When I brought up these female friends, he responded with something that really surprised me. He said he doesn’t want to be friends with them anymore, and that female friends make him uncomfortable now. I told him that he doesn’t ne…

Yes for sure, that was on me for not including the fact that I have a boyfriend in previous conversations. I made this same mistake when two guys were trying to be my "friend" last year (my family and closest friends didn't even know about my relationship yet at the time, so I felt weird telling random guys I wasn't close with about it), which lead to one of them blocking me when he found out about my boyfriend, probably because he thought I was leading him on. I'm super inexperienced and stupid…

Thank you so much, your perspective really helps!! I can't 100% confirm he's gay but I'm almost certain. I still need to be a little careful until I can completely confirm he's gay lol. Either way I'll respect all boundaries for sure and never ever prioritize him over my boyfriend. Thanks again!

Thank you so much, this really helps! I'll make sure all boundaries are respected and that he never comes first before my boyfriend. I don't like his friendship with one of his female friends for a couple of reasons. Most importantly, my boyfriend used to be interested in her before we met. He even asked her to kiss in the past and was very flirty with her, but she turned him down. They hung out one on one earlier in our relationship, BEFORE he told me about his past flirty behavior with her. I …

Thank you! I’ve been pretty stressed about this, but my boyfriend doesn’t even feel uncomfortable about it at all. I definitely feel better that this friend knows about my relationship now though. I also don’t plan on getting any closer with this guy or hanging out with him alone either. Thanks again!

I get that. I’m staying cautious because I can’t be completely sure he’s gay, and I’d feel uncomfortable asking him about this. Thanks for pointing this out!

Thank you so much, this really helps a lot! I definitely don’t desire getting any closer with this guy because I’m more than happy with my boyfriend and don’t feel the need for fulfillment from any other guy. He’s just a work friend that I socialize with and have things in common with, we’re not super close or anything. I don’t plan to hang out with him alone ever since my boyfriend and I happily agreed on only group hangouts with any opposite gender friend. Thank you again!

Thank you for your comment, I now realize it’s not right of me to hope he changes by tapering off those friendships. This is my first relationship so I’m not sure of how to handle situations like this. I now realize it’s fair that if I’m friends with that guy, he can be friends with those girls. How do you think I should move forward with my situation? I’m so inexperienced with relationships and I’m not quite sure how to proceed. Thank you so much

Thank you for your perspective, this is my first ever relationship so I’m struggling with handling situations like this, I’m stupid in this regard. I now understand that it’s unfair of me to want him to change and taper off those friendships, thank you for allowing me to see that. How do you think I should move forward with my situation?

He doesn’t feel uncomfortable with me having male friends, but I told him I’ll happily cut off this friendship. He does have female friends but doesn’t talk to them often. I don’t feel as bad about it as long as he only sees them in groups. I’m open to any suggestions on how to move forward with this. I don’t want to cause any pain in my relationship. I don’t plan to hang out with this guy outside of work, but if it ever happens, it’ll be a group hangout for sure.

Thank you so much for your insight! I totally agree, I also feel it would be weird if I got too close with him. Do you think there's anything I'm doing wrong here? Or should I just make sure I don't get any closer with him? I definitely don't ever plan to hang out with him outside of work either. Thank you so much!

Wow, that is extremely suspicious of him... In my opinion, if a guy is truly committed to his girl, he will naturally and willingly phase any female friends out of his life. I've always seen it this way: If a guy is truly 100% committed to me, I'd be the only important female in his life besides family members. Why would he need to keep around female "friends" if he has me and he's truly happy with me? I believe that guys who keep around female "friends" when they're in a relationship are (at le…

Of course, I'm happy to help! Maybe he's saying you guys are just friends for now since he's not ready for the next step of being in a committed relationship, but I'm almost sure he's definitely at least thought about it at some point. You guys already seem very close so maybe he's just waiting to see if you're romantically interested before taking the next step. He may be scared of you not reciprocating interest which could ruin the bond you guys have, which may cause him to hesitate in taking …

Your mom is definitely right, I truly don’t think a man and woman can be “just friends” without at least one party wanting something more. Even if it seems that he currently sees you as just a friend, I almost guarantee you that he has thought of being romantically involved with you at some point, even if just for a short moment. Throughout my life, every single guy who made efforts to become my friend did so just because they wanted something more. Some of my boyfriend’s female “friends” are al…

I'm probably about 65% traditional, give or take: Trad: No sex till marriage, no living together before marriage, friends are only women, extremely close with family, dress modestly, Christian, pro life, hoping to marry young, zero dating experience before current LTR, zero sexual experience, no tattoos or piercings, prefer traditional dating standards and gender roles, no alcohol or drugs whatsoever. Modern: Interracial couple/half asian, don't dress super feminine or dress up often, don't wear…

I don't have any male friends, only male acquaintances from work who I talk to at work, but never outside of work. The only exception is one male coworker who is gay, who I message with occasionally. I don't think it is necessary to avoid socializing with men completely (like at work or school or something), but I just don't think it is appropriate or necessary to take it to the next level by messaging or hanging out with them (especially one on one) if you're in a relationship. Group hangouts a…
