2	DENIED You fail to understand the basics. The money comes from FIFA, both for men and women. They have the exclusive broadcasting rights and sell them to the highest bidder. The two products - let's call them that, the men's and women's World Cups, aren't worth the same. The men generated 6 billion $ revenue at the last World Cup, the women close to 180 million. 1	“All female athletes deserve equitable pay” There was a report on that a few years ago, I don't remember where I saw it exactly. But it was flawed(deliberately maybe?) as it compared revenue from FIFA to the US Soccer Federation; only problem was it focused on 2015 when the women's team won the World Cup. 1	“All female athletes deserve equitable pay” You are missing the basics. It doesn't matter that they had a larger following in the US, because it's a cheaper product. The TV rights sell for far less than they do for the men's World Cup. And when you talk about the prize pool remember that FIFA is the one dishing in out.
