My goals for this month are effectively asking for space in my marriage without becoming irritable. I am also working on allowing people (especially my husband) to handle their own emotions and problems while I get my life in order. Writing this here for accountability.

Also, drug trials performed on Puerto Rican women and the enslavement of native PR teen and girl children. This means the Tiano bloodline lives on because of the rape and trade of indigenous women’s bodies. The atrocities of men. All because they wanted to conquer and own land and people.

I’ve had friends who I could say fit both categories. They had high standards and refused to be spoken to and treated in a disrespectful manner. But would turn around and do exactly as you said…be mean and deflate other’s self esteem. I could recognize it as them being rude/abusive (sometimes) but it can be confusing for some people (me).

But how can we tell the difference between someone who has high standards and someone who is verbally abusing their partner? Does this come with time after being an FDS disciple? I’m asking seriously.

See the first comment in the photo:I thought that OP described something I’ve struggled to put into words. The discussion was about men who leave their spouses after a mastectomy or chronic illness.

Because everything isn’t enough for these people. The wealthy elite are pretty much ALL wealthy white men. They have infinite resources, power and everyone around them is in a vulnerable position, because everyone else is “below” them. This is just a reminder that your best will never be enough for the greedy, because everything is never enough.

The part where it indicates this is a man is cut off and at first glance I thought “wow she has unique interests!”.

Aaaand Korra was literally the most powerful bender in the world. She was always bursting with energy. I just have a hard time believing that someone who could literally stop the rain would be interested in video games, lol.

First off, I love the word perturb. It should be used more often. And my response: having hobbies that don’t revolve around impressing them. Once had a strange man comment on the fact that I rode my bike to work. This was many years ago and I was in my early twenties and couldn’t afford a car at the time. But I enjoyed bicycling anyway and he and I spoke about how nice bike riding is. He went creepy really fast and I shut him down immediately. Apparently anything we do has the potential to be “s…

Off topic, but someone should reach out to this woman and let her know that beeping sound is her fire alarm needing new batteries. Safety first.

I found CP on tumblr once by accident and immediately reported it. One of the men, when I said their group was disgusting told me to “Go play on FaceBook”. Tumblr did nothing after I reported it, just told me to block them.

As someone who has dated a man with an undiagnosed eating disorder, fuck this article. Eating disorders are not gender specific and are actually difficult to diagnose, because in America, our relationship to food and body image is already damaged. It’s so damaged, that therapists struggle to identify eating disorders. People with eating disorders can be toxic to others as well, and may exploit and manipulate others as they are mentally unwell. Literally none of the points made in the article are…

Exactly! I was adopted and my boomer father never had to pay a dime for my healthcare, it was all provided by the state. I said to him “Universal Healthcare would give all of the children the same access to healthcare I had.” He said I sounded like a communist. Sigh.

Knowing it and applying it are two different things. But I guess that’s progress. Having to explain to him that I don’t like telling people what to do when I’m in my own home, repeatedly, becomes exhausting.

Fun fact: Martha Stewart is a former model. Buuuut....she also went to prison for insider trading. Not exactly role model material😬.

Oh my gosh. I didn’t know they had children. I wonder if he’ll give those kids their inheritance and they’ll be charitable since they were likely brought up mostly by their mother.

🙌🏼 I had a similar experience growing up. Falling ill is only a setback! I went back to school to finish my degree after paying off the medical bills. Just go at your own pace while listening to your body to take breaks when needed and you’ll make it, sis.

This. But something left out is that women are EXPECTED to be the social, emotionally expressive ones, even in high paying jobs. Men can sit there and be the “silent and strong” type, but if a women is quiet or doesn’t wear much makeup at work it’s a recipe for disaster. She’ll be ostracized.

I think the point of the movie was to display how incoherent the Joker was. The mean characters are over the top, because it’s told from Arthur’s perspective. That’s how he perceived those people. The therapist might have actually cared, but someone in Arthur’s position doesn’t think a single soul cares about his humanity and he couldn’t see that. Same with the great speech at the end he gave, it may have been pure fantasy in his mind. I don’t think he could really stand for anything: classism, …

Why does it have to happen directly to them for them to show an ounce of empathy? They don’t care about violence and sexism until it shows up at their doorstep.

I had a woman in a zoom call ask me how tall I am in an interview, which now looking back is weird af. I told her five ft and she laughed at me...in the middle of the interview! Laughed at me and said “I would tower over you” I did not get the job.

Wow, thank you for sharing this. I had no idea. It’s odd that they then go after students for plagiarism. I’ll have to keep this in mind next time a professor asks to use my essay as an example essay in future classes.

So true. They’ll use women and younger/inexperienced colleagues as ladders, stealing their ideas and stepping on their faces to get to the top of their imaginary competition.

Eh...I think you misunderstood. Deliberately targeting certain coworkers and going over management’s head creates an unstable work environment. His comment reminded me of this article (reference paper at the bottom of the article) https://www.psychiatryadvisor.com/home/topics/general-psychiatry/how-individuals-with-dark-personality-traits-are-reacting-to-covid-19/ Or this https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0191886911005150

It’s scary to hear all the pro-Trumpers under 30 from Canada and the US. They think he’s “their guy” and that men shouldn’t be prosecuted for their actions at all. What’s the world becoming?

Eh, I like the topical stuff for muscle and joint pain but I get where you’re coming from. There’s a culture that surrounds marijuana...like it’s a “lifestyle” instead of a drug.

Weed is legal where I live, and is used for medical purposes. But decent men (people) usually have the decency to smoke OUTSIDE. Or use edibles so no harm is done to the lungs. The smoke smell from tobacco and marijuana gets in everything otherwise: cars seats, furniture, clothing. It’s a good way to observe how he treats his belongings.

Yeah, the box of acceptable appearance for women seems to be getting smaller and smaller as I get older. Inflatable lips, hips and hairless ness is in now. Also, looking black/Hispanic without actually being black or Hispanic. But the hair length thing never changes. The longer the hair, the more looks you get...unless it’s curly or kinky, lol.

That tumblr link was horrifying. Almost every single entry was a man describing how inconvenienced he was when the woman experienced any pain during sex. And the 50 year old complaining that the 18 yr old was disgusted by him...well, what did he expect?

Agreed. And it’s so hard to find your group. Most of the women in recent years who I thought I could be friends with grossed me out immediately with their behavior whenever men were around. I don’t know if I have the energy to tell every friend that the guy who says he “doesn’t believe in marriage or monogamy because it’s involving the government” is in fact, not a rebel, but a user.

I think it was meant tongue in cheek, because he said this morning he got me a present because he wanted me to have “something to open”. So I’m not sure why he said the TV was my present to begin with. I’ll have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Matthew Hussy. It’s so embarrassing to think I used to watch his videos. Then he cheated on Camila Cabello and I stopped watching.

The last one...makes me ill. I’m pretty sure stalking someone and taking pictures of their behinds is some kind of illegal. Not to mention, that man is dumb if he thinks those girls have no awareness and can’t tell they’re being trailed. They’re probably just too afraid to confront him.

I can’t tell if he got me Christmas present or not? So I mentioned a few months ago to my husband (dated for 4 yrs and married in Oct. 2020) that I wanted to play this game called Hollow Knight. Unfortunately, the laptop I have does not have a graphics card that can withstand the game. Anywho...flash forward to a few weeks ago and the TV in our living room dies. We do not have a back up for it so we have to purchase a new one. He then goes on to inform me that he had planned on buying me a gamin…

This ^ And it starts disturbingly young, too. From the age of 5 I was raised to believe my worth was in what I could do for others. I was raised on a farm and was up at 5 am to take care of the animals before school, kept my grades up and was expected to clean the house once a week and help with chores. Plus, I was expected to be pretty in top of all of it. My parents used me as free labor: watching younger cousins, cooking, cleaning, and working part time jobs. But even my own family still favo…

Have any of you dealt with women in management who conform to male expectations? For example a woman boss who joins in on sexist humor with other men and makes sexual comments toward female coworkers and those in positions beneath them. I had to quit this job due to my boss jokingly telling coworkers I “fell off the pole” and hurt myself when I showed up to work in a back brace due to a gym injury. She was relentless in teasing me 😔.
