There's no debate to be had. If you want a romantic partner, you have to do some combination of improving yourself, lowering your standards, or searching harder. That's it. The dating market sucks. I sympathize. And we all like to vent from time to time. But at the end of the day, it's better to focus on what you can change and ignore what you can't.

Both sexes are too pornsick and over-exposed to choice.

Yeah, for sure.

For foodie calls in particular, I would bet women have men beat due to opportunity due to gender norms. But yes, there are more men with ASPD, psychopathy, and NPD. However, there are more women with BPD and HPD. Anti-social behavior is expressed differently between the sexes and on a spectrum. ASPD in women is sometimes misdiagnosed as BPD or HPD. It's all a little blurry. A lot of harmful people out there, men and women.

Doesn't surprise me. Similar to percentage of women with NPD, BPD, HPD, ASPD, etc. There's always a portion of the female population that'll engage in that kind of behavior. A minority of women, but larger than one might expect.

Women aren't immune to porn addiction or porn-induced erectile dysfunction. They're just judged less for having it. The nature of porn addiction is similar to the nature of any other addictions (drug, alcohol, gambling, video games, social media) from a neurological standpoint. It's essentially the external regulation of pain. Those addicted to it can experience withdrawal symptoms from ceasing to do it (shortness of breath, heart palpitations, etc.) It's intertwined with the release of dopamine…

There are (supposedly) sex differences in the volume of certain regions in the brain. "On average, males and females showed greater volume in different areas of the cortex, the outer brain layer that controls thinking and voluntary movements. Females had greater volume in the prefrontal cortex, orbitofrontal cortex, superior temporal cortex, lateral parietal cortex, and insula. Males, on average, had greater volume in the ventral temporal and occipital regions." EDIT: https://www.nih.gov/news-ev…

Some theorize that autism spectrum disorder is 'extreme male brain' while borderline personality disorder is 'extreme female brain'. Esther Perel has stated that what (typically) turns a woman on is to be the turn on. They have to feel sexy in order to be into it. And she also stated that what (typically) turns a man on is when his partner is turned on. I'm curious which way autistic women lean more sexually. I guess it varies. It functionally makes him a cuckold if he isn't the biological father. It doesn't garner respect universally.

Projection. Does oddly specific negative behavior X. Accuses others/you of doing X. Rinse and repeat.

Narcissists exist, but if all your ex-partners are narcissists, that says something about you.

It's not important to me if my partner shaves or even trims anything below the neck. Not a fan of mustaches or beards. That being said, if she has body hair, I expect it to be covered up in public. Body hair has a function.

You eventually learn that people are irrational and act accordingly. My brother didn't say Merry Christmas to my narcissistic father in a "desired" fashion one Christmas morning around that age and my father had an episode of narcissistic rage and meltdown on him. You didn't ruin anything. They did.

Eh. In a vacuum, maybe. Not in our current situation. Fertility isn't so valuable if the environment can't sustain life. And we're rapidly heading towards ecological collapse. EDIT: Not to target you specifically. I just think that the subreddit in general views micro-level issues in a vacuum and fails to notice how macro-level issues affect things. Like suicide, for example. There are folks who view it as the moral failing of an individual, but fail to grasp or acknowledge that it's often the e…

Not disagreeing with your first point, but sometimes that's just men respecting boundaries of a relationship. "Is the boyfriend the jealous type?" "Will he feel threatened by the previous status quo of the friendship (hanging out 1v1)?" "Do I like hanging out with the boyfriend?" The dynamics change and sometimes that leads to friendships cooling off.

It also brings up an uncomfortable line of thought, which is, "Is there that much difference between paying for OnlyFans and paying for expenses related to having a girlfriend or wife?"

People are irrational. Some are psychopaths. Some are sociopaths. Some are narcissists. Some are autistic. The list of disorders goes on and on and on. I wouldn't take it personally. You can only control your own actions ultimately.

Unrelated, but I hated the Rachel Dawes character in The Dark Knight Trilogy. She's not from the comics. She's played by different actresses between the movies. She's the emotional through line in the trilogy, yet she's super unlikable. Wayne won't stop moping about her. Ugh.

Mate guarding is pretty situational. If things turn violent, you and/or the competitor could end up injured and/or killed. And then you have potentional financial and/or legal ramifications. I tend to lean towards not doing it in the heat of the moment. Doesn't mean you can't retaliate at a later time.

I assume it's some sort of pro-life/anti-abortion legal maneuver by the Republicans who control the state legislature.

Basically China gearing up for a war against India and/or the United States at some point within the next two decades. Doesn't help that the male to female ratio is awful at least partially due to the disastrous one-child policy. Country at birth 0-14 years 15-24 years 25-54 years 55-64 years Over 65 years Total China 1.11 1.16 1.17 1.05 1.02 0.90 1.06 A whole lot of angry men with no prospects is a threat to the CCP's power. Gotta redirect that anger towards an external threat. Good cannon fodd…
