What do you mean by "things are going to work out?" Some guys' idea of things working out is a roof over their head and food on their plate and free time to do as they please.

IDK, I used to date a completely filthy slut, and now she's married to kind of a simp and has kids, and something about the thought does sort of depress me, although I can't put my finger on it. Just the idea of the way this poor guy must think of his wife vs how she behaved.

" Girls who want to sleep around literally avoid church guys, nerds , guys who are too clean cut .....not because they aren't attractive .....but because they might look down on them/ think less of them. " I question this premise, and given that you have a male name handle I doubt it comes from anything other than speculation.

I'm confused as to why you equate not caring about money with spending all day smoking weed and playing video games. Correlation maybe, but I know a lot of guys who just have other pursuits that are interesting to them that don't happen to involve making money.

Honestly what is my money for other than taking care of my family? Do I need a mercedes when a honda gets me there? Do I need to preen around on a beach in fiji when I like the local ones just fine? Do I need to join a country club when I hate golf and would rather just hike a public trail? Do I give a shit about designer clothing? After a certain level of material comfort and financial security, all that shit is totally meaningless to me. I don't even care that much about traveling abroad when …

IDK the science behind the "pair bonding" thing if any. But putting that aside, my concern is not that women with high n-count "can't" bond, it's more a question of how fickle they will be. Like, in your case, my question wouldn't be whether she really loves you, it's just what is her attitude going to be when the initial lovey dovey feeling inevitably wears off? Will she stand by you because she believes in commitment or look for an excuse to upgrade? I think it's more likely that high n-counts…

I'm increasingly red-leaning, whereas I used to be very blue-leaning, but redpill as an absolute lens through which to view everything (1) just doesn't ring true for me (2) seems to justify a lot of shitty behavior (3) is excessively full of jargon (4) is too reductive.

Society has evolved in a way that eliminates most of the advantages of being male while elevating the advantages of being female. I can't say for certain whether these changes are absolute or just relative, but either way they have happened very quickly, leaving men bewildered. E.g. there were once a lot more jobs for ordinary guys who could do physical labor -- no college degree needed, no need to sit down and focus on a screen ten hours a day, no need for excessive detail orientation and organ…

Weird that this is the top comment, as it explains nothing. The fact that internet and discussion groups exist does not explain why their content is what it is.

If you're that cold, calculating and cynical then tbh you will probably be ok. A lot of women have inflated romantic ideas about things.

It's not necessarily "hard," it's just that after a certain point your options will get less and less attractive by the year the longer you wait. I can't tell you how many women I have watched marry substantially less appealing versions of the guys they used to date.

You're talking about the absolute elites of society, maybe the top .001% of people. It's not that meaningful if you want to talk about where overall demographic trends are going. Not that I think that redpill pseudo-sociology is correct, necessarily, but the OP is really more about women of a more average white-collar kind.

As a man in a white collar job (lawyer), I find that women are much better suited for many of the organizational and detail-oriented aspects of the job, and some of the absolute best people I work with are women. At the same time, it's still the men who seem to have the icewater-in-the-veins ability to make tough decisions, cut through the crap, play hardball in negotiations, take big risks, etc. Many of the women I've worked with fall apart from anxiety, overthink things, are overly deferential…

IMO, play along with it until you get the green card. Agree to it ostensibly but emotionally divorce her in your mind.

I know all relationships eventually end, but I have to say that so far in my married life all the scare stories about how common divorce is just haven’t born out. I barely know anyone divorced.

I mean, you still need to put yourself in situations where you interact with women and then go interact with them, they're not just going to show up at your doorstep. I think the point is that if you focus on self-improvement and self-fulfillment, you will present better to women when you do interact with them.

I guess I don't understand what she means by "doesn't make me a slut." That is the literal definition of a slut. What makes someone a slut if not that? Now maybe she's saying "there's nothing wrong with being a slut." And in some sense, there isn't. You can live your life any way you want and it doesn't make you less of a human being. But it also might make me not want to date you, and no blog post will convince me otherwise.

I've met guys who sleep around a bit, but if a friend was racking up hundreds of partners I'd probably think they were either a narcissist or trying to run away from some internal problem.

Who's "she"? I said above that I'd prefer someone tilted to the clingy side vs the free-spirited side. But "clingy" inherently implies to an unhealthy degree, and some people are just more attachment-oriented without being clingy. EDIT: tbf I guess you say "a bit" clingy, so I think we basically agree

Believe it or not there might be women who fall somewhere within the space between this extreme and having slept with dozens of guys a year for 10 years.

FWIW, I don't accept your premise at all. You're basically implying that a woman either has lots of sexual partners or else she must be insecure and stalkerish. That's absurd.

I'd take clingy over the jadedness/wanderlust that seems to come from having a fifteen-year "hoe phase"

Settle down buddy, I'm really not trying to take shots at you. I don't know what you personally do, I was using "you" in the general sense. Replace it with "one" if it makes you feel beter. I don't know if lying gives you an advantage. Maybe some women have good lie detectors and don't fall for it while others do. These kinds of blanket statements about human behavior that present themselves as a priori deductions are not very useful.

Ok here's the survey evidence I remembered: https://www.bustle.com/articles/109606-women-are-twice-as-likely-as-men-to-suggest-open-relationship-new-survey-finds-plus-3 "The interesting thing is that in a recent survey of their members they found that more women want an open relationship than men. In two-thirds of relationships, it was the woman who suggested opening up the relationship. "

https://jezebel.com/are-women-more-into-polyamory-than-men-1795171754 "One of the interesting things Dominus began to note in her interviews was that the majority of the heterosexual couples opened up their relationships at the instigation of the women, including Daniel and Elizabeth. Of the 25 couples, only 6 of them were opened up at the man’s suggestion, and even in cases where it was mutual, the woman were generally more sexually active outside the relationship."

IDG why you need to actively lie to hook up with someone. Most people don't know for sure in advance whether they will want a relationship with someone they are hooking up with, just get out there and date people. Also, there are all kinds of things you could hypothetically do to increase your chances of sex. At the extreme end, for example, you could drug someone or rape them at gunpoint. But don't you want to be able to look yourself in the mirror and feel ok about the kind of person you are? …

This is a little hard to respond to because it's so vague that I'm not sure what's being talked about ("manipulation" is not further explained, for example). But assuming we're talking about "creating dread" meaning using PUA type tactics to create insecurity in a partner, I'm going to give a similar response to the one I give to a lot (though not all) "PUA" advice: If your goal is just to "get laid" or to "get a girlfriend," well there are a lot of women out there, and PUA tactics will work on …

When the NY Times ran a big magazine piece on open marriages, the author blogged that in the vast majority of the couples she interviewed the woman had initiated.

I've never seen a really good study on this, but I've definitely seen semi-informal studies showing it's like 2-1 women wanting to open it vs men.

I think there is something to a lot of what you say. I also think our society promotes the illusion of endless choice and the lack of limits. Women get restless in their marriage because they got used to having new men every time they got a little dissatisfied or bored. The opposite extreme isn’t good either — a woman who never learns what she wants or enjoys and then spends marriage quietly depressed and not even knowing or understanding why. But we have gone too far in the direction of needing…

First of all, each things you named is different. I agree with the poster who said you should do what you enjoy. However, every straight man should be aware of how open relationships stack the odds against them and in favor of women. So you have to be extra-enthusiastic about the idea and willing to put up with that disparity, or else you're just going to wind up home a lot of nights tweedling your knob while she's out banging other dudes.

There is something to this, but I also observe plenty of women who get the short end of the stick in relationships and are more the “slave” than the man, eg earn the higher salary and still do more at home. That said, I have heard these women express how they wish they could just be home with the kids and have a male provider whereas I have never heard a man express equivalent feelings. I’d sometimes very much like to be doing something else than working hard for my high salary, but I’m so cultu…

In my state there is no full alimony. Spousal support payments continue until the divorce is final and depend on the length of the marriage, who earned more, and other factors. They can continue in some cases after the divorce but I think that's increasingly rare, and if the wife earned more she'd be paying the husband. I thought that more states had become like this today but I don't really know the law in each state. I think alimony is not as common as you think anymore.

How can a guy know if he can win a sperm competition? I don't think strongest sperm is necessarily correlated with biggest/strongest/handsomest man.
