There are articles on declining birth rates and single women, and these articles usually frame it as men being the issue - not good enough etc. And then when it comes to the male loneliness epidemic, it’s also framed as men being the issue. Pretty standard stuff, whenever something goes wrong it’s men’s fault apparently.

Yes? Feminists are all for men having a vasectomy if they don’t want a baby, but suddenly one abortion is too much? If you don’t want to get a forced abortion, don’t have unprotected sex???
/r/MensRights04/04/26 08:29 PM

The thing I don’t get is that “sex is the same as consenting to parenthood” applies only for men. When two people have unprotected sex, one party can choose to stop the pregnancy, the other side can’t. Why not? Let both sides have the option to terminate.

Every time I see the news about someone being saved from a fire etc, it’s always saved by a man. Not all men, but always a man saving the day.

Apply it to race and it’s racism, apply it to women and it’s sexism. But somehow it’s okay generalising all men…

It’s well established that men are judged more harshly both by the public and by the court Haven’t seen a paper controlling for children, but I doubt that would change the results.

You can’t be charged with misandry. Only misogyny can legally constitute a hate crime. Men aren’t a protected class legally.

I’m confused. I said majority of women have met a bear, and you disagree. I said majority of women haven’t seen a bear, and you disagree. I said men are terrible and you disagree, I said men aren’t terrible and you disagree. Sounds like you’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/04/26 04:48 AM

Ah, so we’re on the same page? The majority of women have not met a bear, and men are not terrible? Glad we agree then, sorry for the misunderstanding.

So that isn’t what you’re implying? So the majority of women haven’t met a bear? The majority of men in your life are not terrible people?

Have you seen what people have done for money? People do horrible things for money, including sex trafficking, murder etc. Greed for either is bad.

Wasn’t aware that majority of women have met a bear. Am sorry that you think the majority of men in your life, like your dad etc are all terrible people. Hopefully you meet better men in the future.

To be fair if you think having kids are about having tangible “benefits”, it’s best you don’t become a parent anyway. Having a kid doesn’t “benefit”men or women, it just costs women more in terms of physically carrying the child. Statistically it is more likely to cost the men more financially. Either way you shouldn’t raise a kid with the aim of getting something in return.

Did you lose any rights. Uh, yes? Are women okay with being forced to pay child support for rape babies, or forced to fight in a war? Also, it’s not semantic because sexual assault carries a lesser punishment. Are you okay if men can’t be charged with rape in the same countries then? Essentially reducing the jail term. It’s like every time a man kills a woman, he can only be charged with manslaughter instead of murder, and only women can be charged with murder. Is that just semantic? Therefore o…

Actually, according to research, an analysis of 85 studies show that pro-male bias in hiring have diminished or reversed, while pro-female bias (nursing etc) have remained unchanged. For example, women are favoured more heavily in STEM So you’re right, we don’t have equality in the workforce, women have it better (in first world countries). If you’re from a third world country then yes, men have advantages in the workforce. Otherwise please recognise your own advantages.

Or perhaps OP is suggesting that men can build a real connection with a greater variety of people, as long as there’s a “good vibe”? Are women a lot more picky and need a lot more criteria to build meaningful connections?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/26 05:59 PM

Exactly, men are choosing to go their own way etc and getting attacked for it, getting called incels etc. Don’t really get it. And the autonomy thing too. In countries like Australia, where they are discussing curfews for all men, this is a real threat. Or for about 4+ billion people (half the world’s population) who live in countries like UK, Singapore, China etc where legally women cannot be charged with rape, male victims there have little autonomy too. So are victims of statutory rape or rap…

If men should pay more for women, shouldn’t they also earn more? Equal wages come with equal spending, if you want a certain group to spend more you have to pay them more.

Women like this make me question if they can understand math. About 200 million people have died in war in the past 100 years meanwhile about 15000 have died in domestic abuse cases. Shes off by more than 10,000 times.

Men are also women’s biggest saviors lol. The number of women saved by male firefighters far outweigh the number saved by female firefighters. The entirety of women in Ukraine can thank their male citizens for defending the country.

good question, although I think the answer to complaints about segregation or racism shouldn’t be “why are you there?” Hateful comments or discrimination shouldn’t exist in any space, social media should be for everyone not just women.

I like how on one hand they think dating a 20+ year old woman is pedophilia, and on the other hand they think women mature faster. Which is it? Should we treat 20+ year old women like immature kids who shouldn’t be trusted, or are they adults?

A lot of people throw this “only 2% of accusations” are false around. So does that mean that 98% of accusations result in a guilty conviction? Basically if you accuse someone, you are guaranteed a conviction? What do victims have to be afraid of then, if they are guaranteed success? Turns out if you check the sources for the 2% of false accusations, the definition is that the accuser is criminally charged in 2% of cases. Only if they confess, or there is video evidence are these considered a fal…

It’s tough because the rape victim might not even want the child in the first place? So being forced to keep the child or pay child support is like a lose-lose situation. And yeah, it’s also a tough situation to tackle legally regarding blanket laws :’)
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 05:05 PM

I think he’s referring to the fact that male victims of rape or statutory rape are legally required to pay child support to their rapists if a child is born, they don’t have the autonomy to choose an abortion.

“I believe her” and “we all do” is not downplaying the severity? And how do you know these comments and likes are all men? Did you check? Are people legally required to put their real identity on the internet. Regardless of who they are, are such comments really acceptable? I’m impartial to stats, but saying that homosexuality and heterosexuality is the same thing is your opinion, not a fact. Also your logic would indicate that women are the main problem in relationships, given lesbian domestic violence and divorce rates. Sorry if these stats make you uncomfortable, but it’s your own logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 01:04 PM

I disagree. These are real people (and many thousands of them) showing support for a woman literally murdering men. Real people out there that believe this is okay. If misogyny, or racism, or any other form of hate on social media is a problem, then so is misandry. Unless you think hate and discrimination on social media is acceptable and not an issue.

About 4 billion people (half the world’s population) live in countries like UK, Singapore, India etc where legally women cannot be charged with rape against men. Misandry is part of the law in many countries lol

Just curious, any cases where the stepmom has to support the children financially after divorce? Or is this patriarchal“privilege” just for men?
/r/MensRights14/03/26 03:37 AM

Yeah, it sounds like you’re saying homosexuality is a problem for some reason with all the stats you’re showing, then trying to pass off people with different sexual orientation as the same group. To follow your logic, if gay males represent straight males, don’t lesbian females represent straight females too? We see how problematic females are in lesbians with the domestic violence and divorce rates then?

Gender equality index is basically women’s welfare index. Countries with male conscription, where the law states women cannot be charged with rape, where women earn more and have higher college admission rates than men all rank the highest on this index.
/r/MensRights28/02/26 02:48 PM

It’s either you treat both genders equally, or you don’t. And that comes with both sides of the coin. Don’t hit anyone for no reason, except self-defence etc. Doesn’t matter their gender or race.

I agree, it shouldn’t be men vs women. And the gender wars are turning us against the real issues. But at the same time is annoying to pretend that women are not the more privileged gender in many areas in first world countries. In many third world countries, women are still very much an unprotected class, but it’s the other way around in first world countries. Its like me saying that a guys have access to gay causal sex so he’s lucky. Confused because are you saying sex for women is like having gay sex for straight men? Like women don’t want to have sex at all?

Confused what you’re replying to here, because you’ve replied to none of my points. Which one are you saying is invalid? My singular point is that in first-world countries, the majority of violent crime and murder are men. Which part of this do you disagree with, and why is quoting this statistic biased against women? Also, I think by modern society I mean first world countries, can refer to Google for definitions.
/r/MensRights09/07/25 04:29 PM
16

when does misogyny ever kill in modern society though? majority of victims of violent crime and murder are men. women are less likely to get murdered, and it’s at least partially because they get seen as “the weaker sex”. if everyone considered women fair game then their death rates would go up. not supporting misogyny, just that saying “misogyny kills” makes zero sense to me unless you’re in a third world Islamic country under Shariah law.

Still can’t fathom how some people can’t see that a sentence becomes discriminatory simply by replacing the social group. “I hate men.” - okay, justified “I hate women.” not okay, misogyny

Excellent piece - men and women both matter. That’s the issue with today’s society, we’re punishing today’s men for their ancestor’s actions.

Women having an advantage is considered the acceptable default, and anything short of a strong advantage for women is a disadvantage - sounds about right for today’s society.

Rape statistics are inherently skewed because about 4 billion people live in countries where there are zero female rapists. Legally, in countries like the UK, China, Singapore, India etc etc, the law defines rape as penetration with a penis, so legally there are zero women who have committed rape. It’s also quite true that men are inherently more physical. That’s why the majority of acts of physical heroism (saving people from disasters, accidents etc) are performed by men, but at the same time …

I think the fact that about 4 billion people (half the world’s population) live in countries where legally, only men can be rapists. That means if a man forcibly has sex with a woman, it’s rape. If a woman forcibly has sex with a man, it’s a lesser crime with a lower minimum and maximum jail term, on top of the fact that women already receive lighter sentences. This includes countries like the UK, Singapore, China etc.
/r/MensRights14/06/25 02:22 AM

In first world countries like Singapore and UK there are plenty of disparities for men. For example, in the UK, if a woman drugs a man and forcibly has sex with him, that is legally not rape. Rape in the UK (and China, India etc) is legally defined as something only a man can do. This applies about 4 billion citizens around the world, which is roughly half the population. I would choose the bear over a woman. Bears have never raped or tortured men, and hundreds of thousands of men are killed by women every year. At most a bear kills one or two. Even if a bear kills me, at least it won’t tell people that I tried to assault her or whatever. Imagine getting murdered AND people thinking you deserve it. That’s even worse. Of course statistically not all women are like that, just like not all men are rapists. But just following the same logic these women are using.

Could you then explain why lesbian divorce rates are the highest, followed by heterosexual divorce rates (where women initiate most divorces), and then the lowest rates are among gay men? Honestly, this would be similar to a study asking men to “imagine a scenario where they might rape somebody”. Just like in these study where the women might imagine a scenario where they made a false accusation due to anger or revenge, maybe a gender swapped study might find men imagining a scenario where they raped due to anger or revenge. You mean charging a woman for the exact same crime as a man, with a minimum lower sentence is fair? They didn’t “create a separate law” by the way. It’s just lowered to the charge of sexual assault. Why not just charge all rapists with sexual assault then? I’m sure victims would love that.

You should care about bodily autonomy no matter the gender. Exactly. I was responding to your comment baselessly blaming your downvotes on religion. For all we know, the people who downvoted you were freethinkers. I’m also responding to the fact that neither OP nor the post blames feminism for this, but you felt the need to defend feminists for no reason. MRAs are against the mistreatment of women by the Taliban too. So should I go to a feminist forum talking about this issue, and start asking t…

Female genital mutilations are for religious reasons too. So why should I give a shit about those? Also, what does this have to do with feminism? It’s about men’s rights. I don’t look at women being treated horribly under the Taliban and go “whelp, that’s just religion, screw those virtue signalling feminists” do I?

You’ve seriously never seen a man defending a woman? Ever? That’s like saying I’ve never seen a woman outsmart a man or be a good leader. Statistically we can’t be sure of the exact numbers but saying you’ve never seen one anecdotally means you’re either lying or you live in an echo chamber. You can literally just google “man defends woman” and there will be pages upon pages of results.

How about (Arab Law Quarterly)[https://brill.com/view/journals/alq/24/4/article-p417_4.xml]. It gives the same definition that rape only applies to men violating women. Also, your example is literally how a man is accused of sexual assault by a woman. You’re proving my point, genius.

What are you talking about, I’m literally citing the exact definition of rape in Islamic law. It explicitly states that only men can rape. I don’t agree with it, obviously. But it’s fact, you can’t say it’s not true just because you don’t like it lol.
/r/MensRights25/01/25 03:51 PM

Actually, rape in Islamic law is defined as “Forcible illegal sexual intercourse by a man with a woman who is not legally married to him, without her free will and consent.” Since rape can only be conducted by a man under Islamic law, women cannot be charged the rape. It’s the same for laws in countries like the UK, China, India etc. About 4 billion people in the world live in countries where only men can be charged with rape.

I mean, is the patriarchy good or bad for men overall? If it’s good, why should men give it up? If it’s bad, then how is it a “patriarchy” if everyone is a victim? Sounds like the elites lording over us common folk rather than men lording over women.

Female sexual offenders are more common than you think Looking at data from the Center For Disease Control’s Survey, researchers found that in 2011 equal numbers of men and women reported being forced into non-consensual sex. Similarly, the 2010 survey showed comparable results estimating that nearly 4.5 million men in the US had, at some stage in their lives, been forced to penetrate another person – and that in 79.2 per cent of cases, the perpetrator forcing the sexual act was a woman. Now I just replace the word patriarchy with the word misandry, what’s the difference? “Women used to be hired less in the workplace because of misandry, because society believe men should spend more time and work more.” Also, following the logic that all of men’s problems are caused by the patriarchy or misogyny, doesn’t that mean that men never actually had it better than women under a patriarchy?

This is exactly it. Plus the way academia often works is that you are looking for evidence of your hypothesis that you already have before you even begin your research. Apologies for the confusion. You said comparing men and black people as social groups being over-represented in a statistic is very different, but I beg to differ. I think they’re very similar because both are just different social groups that show up more in a statistic because of certain external factors. If you do agree with that then we are indeed on the same page. And I agree with your point that there needs to be more study into said factors.

No one is required to offer everyone the same access to their body, nor are they required to tolerate unwanted attention. I agree completely. I don’t see OP disagreeing with you here. It’s funny you understand that there are external factors affecting why a social group can be over-represented in a statistic. I’m not sure why you think the two statistics are so different. That’s your assumption. He just said touching them the wrong way, or looking at/talking to someone the wrong way. If a woman bumps into my elbow, is she sexually harassing me?

We have to be openly honest about the offenders of violent crime as well. The word hate is used very loosely in your phrase. Sure. Do you agree with the statement “Hate on women is justified”? If no, then you shouldn’t say the same thing about men. If yes, then that’s misogynistic. Saying the same thing about men would be misandrist. That’s all. And what is so many women? Excellent question, because this is what women are saying in those subreddits. Please raise this question with them and not me. Hate on women is justified. I will no longer greet women. I will no longer acknowledge any women. It’s so many women that it might as well be all women. If you think all of these are not misogynistic, then okay. Otherwise, these are all being said about men on the main 4B subreddit as comments and main posts, and they are getting thousands of upvotes. You can just go in that subreddit and search for the keyword “man”. I can’t link another Reddit sub here.

And if men don’t use women, how would women going celibate hurt men to begin with? And if women don’t use men, how would men going celibate hurt women to begin with? Like you said, it’s not women choosing to be celibate that people are having an issue with. It’s the rhetoric that’s being spewed in the 4B subreddits about men.

Sure. Freezing sperm costs about $500 per collection. IVF treatments cost about $15000 to $20000 per cycles. For couples under 40, roughly 60% have a successful IVF after 6 cycles. That’s $100000 to $150000 per couple lol. Multiply that by the nation and we get a bill of quite a few trillion, if she wants to foot the bill for that, sure.

These people are also idiots who don’t know how to look up anything. It’s not men’s fault that Trump won. 42% of men voted for Kamala and 43% of women voted for Trump. Look at the comments about Margot Robbie’s baby boy telling her to abort and try again. That’s casual misandry. No way you can flip the genders on this.

Obama literally said “Women, yall are better than us men.” and “the men of this country suck.” when endorsing Kamala. And Kamala herself said “if you don’t vote for me you’re just a misogynist”. Also, the much bigger issue is that a lot of radical feminists and misandrists are on the Democratic side. They are vocal about both politics and misandry, which makes people associate the Democrats with misandry and hurts the campaign.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/24 09:13 PM

Fair to have your own views. But honestly I’m doubting how much of the patriarchy still exists or if it even exists at all in this day and age (I’m only referring to first world countries). In modern society, studies show that women are more likely to be hired based on gender, and that boys are discriminated against in school. Meanwhile, there’s still no gender neutral rape laws, men are still conscripted for mandatory military service in first world countries like Korea and Singapore.
/r/MensRights07/11/24 05:41 PM

It’s contradictory because is the patriarchy overall beneficial for men, or is it overall harmful for men? It can’t be both. Of course, it’s not contradictory if you mean the patriarchy sometimes helps men and sometimes hurts other men. In that case the patriarchy also sometimes helps women, and sometimes hurts other women.

I think an easier way to help men understand the bear analogy is to ask them: “Bear or woman?” Hundreds of thousands more men are killed by women than bears each year. Millions of men get sexually abused/assaulted by women, a bear would never do that. Plus, it ends at death with the bear. Many women convicted of murder often defame their victims by falsely claiming self-defense. It’s a common legal defense strategy. So not only might you get assaulted or killed, but people might think the worst …

What rights? Trump literally said he would veto an abortion ban if it came across this desk. He just believes in state level law, instead of federal law. He also said that even in state level bans, the ban needs to be 1. Definitely longer than six weeks (meaning abortion should be legal for babies not just up to six weeks) 2. Not applicable for rape, incest or when it threatens the life of the mother.

Since OP didn’t mention it these are children in prisons for children, 95% of them are male. You’re reading the study incorrectly. The study states that 10.8% of male youth and 4.7% of female youth reported sexual activity with the staff.. Of this group, 95% reported that the perpetrators were female staff. The study also sampled a similar number of male and female youth. So for both male and female youth, majority of the perpetrators were female staff.

It’s true that there are more accidents involving male drivers than female drivers. Did you know that there are far more infanticides committed by women, especially for babies less than a month old? Are women just far more likely to be baby killers? Or is it that women are more likely to spend time with babies and also face post-partum depression? There are far more male drivers than female drivers. So it makes sense that there are more accidents involving male drivers.

Feminists and women in general use social media more than men though. Probably because women have more of a self-defense mechanism where they’ll call out posts attacking them, like red pillers. But men have more of a protective mechanism where they’ll defend other group being attacked as well.

It’s because there are “feminists” like this, and they are often the loudest. It’s a flip side of the coin with Andrew Tate, who had extreme views. Most people who believe in men’s rights don’t resonate even remotely with what he’s saying. The issue with these radical feminists is that they don’t face as much opposition as Andrew Tate. Go to any social media platform and you can find many posts with hundreds of thousands of likes on it, with no one calling them out. I’m sure most women don’t agr…

Hmm. So if you bring up taking a paternity test before having a child, that’s okay right? It’s not like you’re accusing them of cheating in the past, since the child is not conceived yet. But it’s okay to ask your partner to agree to a paternity test in the future, right? Because things might change later on. Just like the to-go bag.

Women respect women who lose control of their emotions, whether it’s anger or any other emotion. I don’t know if the reverse is true for men though. Everyone seemed to respect Will Smith less when he lost his temper and smacked someone on stage.

Ah, got it. So the right thing to do is to suggest a paternity test before having a child. To protect against cheating in the future. Just like how a to go bag is protection against the future.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 11:23 AM

Agreed. But what if your partner is not abusive? In that case getting a to-go bag is like accusing your partner of being abusive, sort of like a paternity test is accusing your partner of cheating?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/24 05:35 PM
3

I think OP’s point is that to go bags are the same as paternity tests? Since they mentioned both. It’s like how paternity test is an accusation that your partner is someone capable of cheating, and to-go bags is an accusation that your husband/wife is someone capable of that level of abuse that you need to run away. But in both cases, it’s not an accusation, but a just in case?

You’re not wrong. Often the men get charged with the physical crime and show up in the statistics, but women are accomplices which don’t show up in the statistics (accessory to murder etc). This makes zero sense to me. Traditional gender roles are bad for capitalism, modern gender roles are more desirable for business. Tell me, if you were a company, would you want to pay a single employee a salary high enough so that he can support his entire family? Or do you want two employees working for you, and you pay them the same? Traditionally a man could support his family on one salary. But now both parents need to work. And if you still think men are the ruling class, do you think the …

That used to be true to a large extent. There used to be discrimination in most fields, since women were not allowed to work or be educated. But we’ve turned that around now in many areas now. Now in the US and many other countries girls are actually more likely to go to college than boys. Teachers actually discriminate against boys now, with studies showing teachers giving a higher grade to an identical piece of work if it was gendered as a girl instead of as a boy. Feminism fought to turn that…

Divorce is not a good thing for anyone. But marriage might not be good for men, despite married men living longer or being happier than bachelors. Correlation doesn’t mean causation. It’s like how people who buy first class tickets are more likely to be rich. Does making a first class ticket make your rich, or does being rich allow you to buy first class tickets? Does being married make you a happy person, or does being a happy person make you more likely to be married? Are women more attracted …

I think one of the issues is that teachers are biased against boys in classrooms, and studies show that they give lower grades to identical pieces of work when it’s gendered as a boy instead of as a girl’s work. It’s sort of the reverse problem back when teachers discriminated against girls. The problem is that many people think we are still at that stage in education, when it’s now the reverse. There are still many incentives to boost girls and their college acceptance rates, when boys need it …

Don’t worry about the downvotes. I actually agree with you here. I’m sure the bravest women are much braver than the average man and woman. Sure, due to genetics and societal pressures there are more brave men running around risking their lives. But it doesn’t mean women can’t be brave too. Thanks for thinking about this! That means far fewer women even make the attempt to enter such positions. Saying the patriarchy doesn’t let women join the military service is like sayi…

I feel like I’ve met more men who are supportive though. But it might just be in these spaces. Women (often self-proclaimed feminists) can be supportive, but they usually aren’t. Just in another post here a woman was claiming only 1% of perpetrators are women, so it’s unlikely that a boy was raped by a woman. (1% is not true btw, this only comes from countries like UK where legally women cannot be charged with rape, except as an accomplice in joint enterprise)

Females account for 1% of rape perpetrators. Where did you get this statistic? According to the 2018 Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence in Australia Report, there were 4100 male victims of sexual violence that year. 55% reported a female perpetrator. This rate does not account for the fact that male victims are far less likely to make a report in the event of a female assailant. Are you getting the 1% from countries like UK? Yes. In countries like Australia, where half the population uses their “marginalization” as an excuse to impose sexist laws. Did you know there is real discussion in Australian parliament of a curfew for all men only? In UK and many other Commonwealth countries, the law defines rape as being committed by a man. That was me. People (self-proclaimed feminists especially) keep spreading the narrative that MRAs are not about men’s rights, and are all misogynistic. /r/MensRights27/09/24 03:58 PM

Perhaps. Although quite a lot of feminists (evident from the comments) seem to hold this view. Honestly that’s fine by me. Feminists can focus on women’s issues and MRAs can focus on men’s issues. You can be both.

I never said most rapes are false. Why would you think something like that? I just said most accusations are unsubstantiated (not proven true or false) so we don’t know the true rate of false accusations. That’s just a fact. FYI, if you’ve ever handled rape cases, it’s not necessary to sit in trial or have a rape kit done at all. You can go to a police station and spend 30 minutes making a report, and then refuse to cooperate further. The police will still bring the suspect in for investigation.…

False accusations are not rare, we don’t know the true rate. The estimated 2-10% of false cases are proven false, where the accuser confesses or other evidence such as video evidence exists. It’s not that 90-98% of accusations are proven true in court, otherwise the legal system would be perfect and victims would have nothing to be afraid of, would they? Only 10-20% of accusations get proven true, 2-10% get proven false. The vast majority are unsubstantiated. This means the cases are dropped wit…

I have never seen anti-refugee sentiment based on the premise that they will somehow steal potential partners?? Usually anti-refugee sentiment has something to do with security, finances etc.

Isn’t it about supply and demand? There’s little demand for female jails because women are treated more leniently in court. They receive shorter sentences and are less likely to receive jail time for the same crimes, even when controlling for other legal factors. You can’t really blame privatisation for this, that doesn’t make sense. Why would private prison operators turn down the opportunity to make money from female prisons if there was demand? It’s just that there isn’t a demand for it.

It’s pretty serious. Just being in this subreddit for men’s rights gets you automatically banned from many mainstream subreddits, regardless of the content of your comments. Just heavy censorship in favor of feminism. I use an alt account just to comment and browse here and support men’s rights.

Both genders face issues, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with looking out for a gender’s rights. But sometimes this escalates to discrimination, which is why many feminists are also misandrists. Of course, men can be similarly biased too. But research has shown that women are inherently more biased towards their own groups. Another thing is that feminism aims to censor a lot of MRA conversations. So being against the draft in Ukraine means being a Russian supporter??? If you are against the civilian casualties caused by Israel, are you therefore a Hamas supporter and pro-terrorism? Two things can be true at once. War can be horrible, and the draft can also be a men’s right issue. If a problem disproportionately affects women, then it’s a women’s issue, right? The draft disproportionately affect men, so it’s a men’s right issue. Or do you think that there’s no women’s issues either, only societal ones? You say women are just damsels in distress and shouldn’t be sent to war. Okay, so how can these damsels be allowed to have an equal say when they are not equal in capability?…

This is a question of correlation vs causation. “Married men are happier, so getting married must make men happy.” “First-class passengers are richer, so buying a first-class ticket makes you rich.” So correlation doesn’t establish which came first. It could also be a spurious correlation. Let’s say ice cream sa…

Do you have a source for that? Because feminists and women’s rights groups oppose making the rape laws gender neutral. Here’s an example. This is wholly unacceptable,”

That laws are biased. In UK, Singapore, India and many countries, legally a woman cannot rape a man, since the definition of rape involves penetration with a penis. In countries like Singapore and some states in the US, only women or disabled husbands are entitled to alimony. Misandry is in the legal system. Countries like UK has rape laws where only men can actually commit rape, so if you get raped by a woman then they get a much lesser charge of sexual assault, which carries a much shorter jail term. Countries like Singapore only provides alimony for wives, or crippled husbands. Misandry is real and hurts people. Hurts women too. More pressure on women to stay home and give up their career, since they can get alimony if they split.

Sure. But in long term relationships (marriage) the woman is far more likely to dump their partner, whether their partner is a man or woman. It’s not. There’s nothing wrong with being better single. But stop blaming the man in the relationship for no reason. /r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:09 AM

According to the study you linked, men made this mistake ~12% of the time, and women made this mistake ~9% of the time. So I guess it’s pretty similar?

ALL citizens (regardless of gender) ages 18-26 would be automatically registered for selective service Huh? Do you have a source for that? The bill seems to automatically register men for the draft, not women

Maybe if you think physical strength still defines power in society. Are the most powerful individuals who control you and order you around all physically stronger than you? What makes you afraid of them/obey them? If a man gets physical with you at least you can fight back. If a woman gets physical with you would you even dare to fight back as a man? And face the legal/societal consequences?

Yeah. Also as another user pointed out, the one I found doesn’t even link the journal, so I have no idea if it’s even a real study or the same study OP is talking about.

Very true, and it doesn’t give a proper citation with the article title so we’ll never know if it’s a real study or not :/

Is he talking about this one? It’s 68% for women and 74% for men, seems pretty similar to me across genders.

I knew it, women were just pretending to be chaste, and they were actually creeps trying to get laid all along >:( On a serious note, I think you know what I mean. In most societies you probably would expect it to be a little easier for girls to get a date than for a guy to get a date.

No, I’m referring to the part in the post where she said “my brother, as a male…” in the same post where she is explaining why it is offensive never to call someone “a female.” I get what you mean about using the terms as adjectives. Personally I don’t feel one way or another even if someone calls me a male, but it’s also weird to call use male or female to refer to a person (to me). So I’m on the fence about that. But just seems hypocritical to call someone “a male” if you’re gonna be offended …

Not saying I agree but I think the point was not that “women are great at this and men suck at this”, but more that “it’s easier for women and harder for men.” Same reason we go “First woman to accomplish…!” So what, she’s not the first person to do it. But sometimes things are harder to achieve as a woman. Like imagine being the first woman to win a Nobel Prize! It’s not that women suck at physics, but it’s worth noting because of the societal pressures against her. Same point being made here, …

Okay. Again, I’ve cited medical journals opposing your humble opinion. Maybe write in to those journals if you think your opinion is more correct than the published articles? Perhaps you were involved in HPV research or vaccine development? Also, you’re wrong about HPV affecting more women than men. According to the CDC, men have higher rates of HPV compared to women. They are also at much higher risks of certain cancers from HPV especially oral cancers. So in your own words, they should have fo…

In your earlier comment you said that 1) the effect of the vaccine for women doesn’t equate to the same effect for men, now you’re saying that we need to see the effects of the vaccine in women first to understand the effects in men. Also, your main justification for waiting is the monetary cost. Of course it’s cheaper to run one set of clinicial trials and then build on that for the other gender. Why do you think women having been complaining about gender equality in medicine for years? It’s sa…

Actually, this meta-review of multiple studies shows that men help strangers more often, and women receive more help. However, it should be noted that this difference was not present in all studies, and cannot be conclusive due to different scenarios across studies. So it’s probably safe to say that men are (sometimes) more helpful, but in general men and women are probably equally helpful.

Again, I think you’re conflating history with current affairs. Historically, women were more uneducated. Do you still think women are uneducated? OP is complaining about current treatment of men, so that should be treated on its merits. For example, are the statements “kill all men” and “kill all women” equally acceptable on social media? Did you know that legally in countries such as UK and Singapore, women cannot commit rape, only men? What about conscription in Ukraine, is it fair to force on…

I don’t think you should look at history as a way of justifying what is acceptable now, Hitler was also fond of using that argument. Does it mean that in a few decades time we can go back to oppressing women if they are oppressing men now? Are you saying the actions of someone’s ancestors justifies their actions today?

Okay, a lot to unpack here. So you’re saying gay people chose to be gay, when they could have just chosen to be straight? I’m not going to comment on if religion is good or bad because I’m a freethinker myself and I don’t want to disrespect other people’s religions, whether is Christianity or Islam. You don’t have to dislike women and like men to support men’s rights. Just like not all feminists are lesbians, no? Plenty of happily functioning adults believe in gender equality for both.

I get what you mean. Personally I also think this woman, while foolish, is a victim. The system was designed to trap people that way. Someone else might feel differently, and that’s okay because it’s a personal opinion. But I think the main issue is the double standard in the media. A man falling for a love scam is not portrayed as a victim, obviously.

You should have asked them why they didn’t speak up when you said “male”instead of “man, but only when using “female” instead of “women”. I’m so curious!

Ok, personally I don’t believe that sexual orientation is a choice. That’s the main argument against why choosing to be gay is a sin. Yes, men commit most violent crimes, as I said. But more victims of violent crime are men…? Also, regarding domestic violence: “The CDC's National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey during 2016-2017 found that in the United States, 42.3% of men and 42.0% of women reported having experienced physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. For s…

I like to point out that in this review only 1 study done in 1994 in Switzerland had a rate of 0.8%. The study says that due to advancements in genetics, parental discrepancy is now more accurately measured. According to the words of the study: “For studies based on populations chosen for reasons other than parental discrepancy, median PD is 3.7% (IQR = 2%-9.6%)” In short, general samples for the population is about 3.7%, or about 1 in 25.

If you think sexual orientation is a choice, then yes I guess that makes sense. Actually, men need to be protected more since the majority of victims of violent crime are men. Not sure where you are getting your stats from. You are also not more likely to be attacked by someone you know, most violent crime happens with a stranger, unless you are taking about domestic violence or homicides in particular. Women do report higher rates of domestic violence by an intimate partner (again, with lesbian…

I don’t know, lesbian couples have the highest rates of domestic violence and gay couples the lowest in recent studies. Seems like women are becoming violent all by themselves.

No, I think you’re misunderstanding the point here from me and the commenter above. Neither of us are suggesting that the same vaccine developed for women should be given to men on the assumption it works, I’m not sure where you gathered that. The development for men’s HPV vaccines started later than it should have, despite the cancer risks of HPV in men already being apparent. That’s the point. Also, despite the vaccine being gender neutral now, healthcare providers still provide less consisten…

That’s a fair point. But it’s not that more reports are made by females (which is also the case), it’s that among a similar number of male and female victims, female victims are more likely to report the crime. Which could be due to the toxic culture, as you said.

No, I think the point was that the actual development and testing started way later than it should have, despite evidence suggesting it should have started. It’s the exact same problem that women used to face (and still face) in some areas of medicine.

In developing countries or those with religious governments (Middle East, Southeast Asia) etc the women still lack many rights. Also in some states with anti-abortion laws that’s not ideal. But in most modern societies probably not. They still have the biological disadvantage of being physically weaker and having to bear children but many feminists make this a societal thing (Men vs bear etc) Many studies show that in many countries in Europe and states in the US, women have an advantage/bias wh…

I agree with you, I’ve never understood why people see it like that either. Too many people use this statistic as a way to say that majority of the allegations are true, when in reality a small percentage are proven false, a small percentage are proven true, and the vast majority is simply unsubstantiated. I also agree with your stance about treatment of both the accuser and accused. That’s way it should be isn’t it? We should provide safe spaces and channels for potential victims, and at the sa…

Men and women both have advantages and disadvantages in certain areas. One example of men’s rights would be the law. In countries like England, Singapore, India and so on, only men can be charged with rape. As in, the legal definition of rape requires the perpetrator “insert their penis…”. Women can only be charged with rape in some of these countries under “joint enterprise” when they participate in a rape by a male rapist. This means a woman can literally tie a man down and have her way, and s…

Whatever a man can do, a woman is capable of too. Murder, rape, torture, beastitality, necrophilia and more, plenty of horrible men and women have done these. That’s why I would choose a bear over a woman too. And at least the bear would just kill me. Plenty of female murderers falsely accuse their victims of raping or assaulting them when caught to get a lighter sentence, that’s worse. To get murdered and then everyone hates your legacy? I’d pick the bear any day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
