Well I was thinking more of it in an example like this; I'm at work, and all my co-workers are into The Serial Podcast. Some men, some women. Sharing an interest with males is great, we can talk about the whole subject, it's awesome. But somewhere in my brain, I would twist the same common interest in a way to becoming attracted to a woman, and use it as an excuse to get closer, inevitably becoming just another orbiter/'girl friend'. See the thing for me, is she spends the opening paragraphs, saying "Oh woe is me, I have tried and tried, I'm an exotic beauty in Japan and no one loves me!" Like she just exists and deserves the admiration of the people around her. But then goes and says: These men wouldn’t have been able to score a date at home if they’d been a calender but in Asia they’d nabbed the prom queen. They were true success stories. Who could blame them for taking advantage of a magical loophole that allowed them to …
