Being that I’m leaving my movie theater job soon, I have nothing to lose, so I’m going to push further and see where this goes. AFAIK, she’s probably just shy and needs to get more comfortable. If it turns out that she just isn’t interested, that’s fine too. On to the next one.

We hugged each other when I picked her up. I always try to have my date hug me or shake my hand or something, to break the touch barrier ASAP. If she isn't receptive, I won't try to force it. But the sooner the better. Later throughout the date, I was playfully shaking and elbowing her and such, whenever she/we were laughing about something, and was fine with that (allowance is compliance). Now that I think about it, that makes sense. Since she’s used to seeing me in a non-sexual context, me switching up must’ve been very surprising and uncomfortable for her. During the drive, I put my hand on her thigh, and stroked her hair. Was that what you meant by escalating? If so, I mustn’t have escalated enough.

I got into it by telling her that I'm going to the beach, and that she's welcome to come if she wants. She is my coworker (I work at a movie theater making minimum wage that I'm quitting by the end of the month, so "don't shit where you eat" doesn't fucking matter to me at this point.) What do you mean by how did I set it up?
