But I am white, tall, and know Japanese well enough to hold conversations. So I guess that makes it a bit easier. Then what are you waiting for? Japanese people (men and women) tend to be more shy, especially around foreigners. You will have to start the conversation. I suggest meet up groups, Tinder, and any other social media outlet. Just exchange phone numbers and be on your merry way.

As you can see, this article isn't a study and might as well be anecdotal evidence. I have a good number of native Japanese friends, single and married, and their relationships are not even close to what this article describes. Someone posted above with a pretty reasonable breakdown of what it's like to date a Japanese girl. My fiancee is Japanese and, if anything, I'm placed on a pedestal. She would pay for all my meals and do all the cooking and cleaning without even asking. Since I've been us…

Fortunately this article is a bunch of horseshit. This article is nowhere near as bad as it makes Japanese women out to be. Not by a long shot.

I'd lived there before, but never dated a Japanese girl, so I'm kinda interested in how dating culture in Japan works. Be white. But seriously if you're an average looking white guy from the West, dating in Japan will be a cake walk. Probably helps that you'll be way taller in Japan than the average Japanese guy. You can use Tinder in Japan, but mainly it's just a bunch of Japanese girls who have studied abroad. Never met any girl off Tinder there, but had something like 100 matches in a week or…

Yeah, this is crazy. I've been to Tokyo a number of times and actually getting married to a Japanese girl that I've been dating for over a year. This article hasn't been true from my experiences whatsoever either and I have a lot of Japanese friends (men and women) whose experiences seem to align with my own. My fiancee actually told me the "man is first" in Japan and has treated me like the "leader", pretty much deferring all decision making to me. In my experience, women everywhere are shallow…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
