The threshold has far more to do with facial bones/ratios and height than it has with muscle or grooming ASSUMING the guy has basic hygiene and style and isn’t fat

To women: when you say “he isn’t my type” how often is it really just that he isn’t your type vs he’s most likely no woman’s type (i.e. conventionally unattractive man)

I've been on Fin for a few years since my late 20's and i actually grew back some hair. Idk why fin isn't more widespread, I only take a half dose with no sides

Does looksmaxxing make much of a difference beyond the essentials and without surgery? If a guy is already lean and well-groomed with good hygiene; would improving his style, physique, hair etc actually make him significantly more attractive or is it diminishing returns unless he gets surgery?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/25 01:14 AM

The point is that the majority of men are unattractive to the overwhelming majority of women so all the stuff you talk about is irrelevant in 99% of cases (if you aren't Chad) because you get filtered out before you can even say hello
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/25 05:03 PM

You're contradicting yourself by stating that looks get your foot in the door, and also that short or average looking guys are in happy relationships often. How is that possible if their looks didn't get their foot in the door?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/25 04:45 PM

This is such bullshit honestly, connection only happens if she actually likes you and is attracted to you. Chemistry is the direct result of looks and height

Well you say your friends and boyfriend can be inconvenient at times, but I feel like if you suddenly found yourself single and friendless you wouldn't feel the same.

I think they don't really care about the male pornstars. Yeah maybe there's a slight element of jealousy but it's fleeting, mostly because we're aware that male pornstars are filmed by male cameramen, they're on lots of drugs and they can't feel much and have to finish on command etc, so not really the best experience.

I don't think that many men subscribe to OF or use escorts. I agree that a lot of men watch porn yet look down on pornstars though.

That's where I disagree. Just meeting the base level puts you in the maybe zone where you need chemistry/connection etc to get to the level where she really wants you.

Man why are you using extreme examples? The guy would still need to be decent looking in her eyes for this to happen.

While responsive desire is something that isn't automatic and requires extra steps like buying her things and taking her places to change her opinion of you. I agree with you here because you're framing it as needing to "do things". What I mean is when she gets to know you and if you guys click and have chemistry then that desire can be unlocked. No shit if you need to rely on material things or paying for a holiday together then that won't generate true desire. And once again how did you order …

I don't really understand what you're trying to debate here tbh, the point was whether certain responsive desire can become equivalent to spontaneous desire. The "ordering women like pizza" was a small subset of first meeting sex that I had, most of it was going on an actual date then going back to mine or hers after.

The debate here is that "third category" women start viewing you as equally attractive to a guy she has spontaneous desire for.

Because I'm not good looking enough to get that reaction from any significant number of women, and also because the apps would bury me quickly due to ELO ratings. I mean i literally have a side view pic on my profile where it's obvious I'm barely average looking. Remember the apps are something like 70-80% men and a lot of them swipe right constantly.

Interesting, tbh in my experience the animalistic desire from women was a bit scary lol.

Brother I also had booty calls come to mine during covid off the apps, what I'm saying is that third category women were also down bad after getting to know me a bit. Also most young people (I was mid 20s during the pandemic) didn't really give a shit about covid unless they were living with older/immunocompromised people. I live in London and trust me everyone stopped giving a shit the second the rules slightly relaxed.

I mean I'm average looking and experienced my fair share of spontaneous desire cause i farmed the dating apps until i found the small % of women that found me really hot lol. I also experienced the "third category" and honestly they're weren't that different in terms of true desire. "Third category" women were still down bad for me it just took a little longer and only happened from irl situations not online.

Double jaw surgery, rhinoplasty, leg lengthening, canthoplasty/orbital fat grafting and hair transplant/finasteride. That should be enough to make you attractive unless you're bottom 5%.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/25 05:09 PM

Not exactly the same no, but significant overlap. It's why "women only like 2% of men" and "women only like the top 20%" are not mutually exclusive statements.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/25 11:45 PM

Doesn't that validate the point that the few % of hot men that make the cut are then playing a lot of women?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/25 06:30 PM

Subjectivity is important but it's underpinned by objectivity. It seems like you're saying that you find say 2% of men attractive and your friend also finds 2% attractive but not the same guys. However, it's likely that both of these 2% populations are from the same "pool" of the top 20% OBJECTIVELY attractive guys, whereas a guy in the "bottom" 80% is unlikely to be in many women's 2%. There is more overlap than you think.

That's fair enough but they don't realise the "be attractive" requirement filters out an overwhelming majority of men
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/25 02:19 PM

The big stickler here is “be attractive” - how many of the guys that fit your other standards are attractive to you?

Bit hard to believe considering that Norway is famous for sex before the first date, but I guess the big discrepancy between he median and mean does point to this

But leagues work the same way, if a person is rated an average of 8/10, with a standard deviation of a quarter a point by 1000 people then that is their objective league
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/25 02:47 PM

So things a lot of people like are "popular" but not objective, whereas men believing women are beneath them is objective? This is such a mid-wit semantics argument. Whether the word is "objective" or "popular" is irrelevant. Just because some men put women beneath them has nothing to do with the fact that so many men struggle with dating and are barred by their league.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/25 10:36 AM

I still don’t buy into these “leagues” because I recognize that there is no one singular scale on which to measure desirability of a partner. Leagues are blurry but objectively positive traits exist, both physically and otherwise, and have general consensus. Yes, I have noticed that some men struggling in dating are very attached to the idea that they are hierarchically superior to any woman they date. I get this is some kind of uno reverse gotcha but come one now, men are hierarchical mostly ag…

Women believe in "soul mates" and "it just happened" because they're the passive participant in heterosexual dating, so for them leagues don't make sense because they don't have to step back and clinically analyze a lack of success like men do. Men form a far more statistical and hierarchical based view of dating as a way to explain their difficulties. Attractive men also don't believe in leagues that often since they're successful so they don't have to think about it.

A growing number of men can't even get a date so this is really a downstream problem

how can you have a crush if you don't find him attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/25 02:40 PM

How come both you and your friend "joke" that you find the first guy attractive but not the second? I understood that the first guy has more exposure to women so therefore more women are interested, but you know both guys and as you said both look similar and are both shy, so why do you and your friend prefer the first guy?

all three are 5'5!! that's pretty crazy unless it's somewhere like south east asia i guess

damn 6'5 and average face and a virgin until his late 20s? That's insane. Were either of these guys overweight?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/25 06:40 PM
5

no, i'm asking if you noticed different dating results in men who are similar looking, or at least in the same league
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/25 06:24 PM

Similar objective attractiveness, height comes into play too so for example id say a tall average looking guy and an average height "cute guy" would be similar
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/25 06:23 PM
3

It comes up time and time again that women always notice "unfortunate looking men" with "hotties" when out and about or in their friend groups. The men on PPD refute this by saying that women's in-group bias and harshness on male looks leads to them underrating men and overrating women. So to the women here, do you personally know any couples where you can comfortably say the man is objectively more attractive than the woman?

I complain too because I'm not getting anywhere near the quality and quantity that I want, but that doesn't mean it never happens.

Lol you sound like a troll. The girls who were genuinely into me didn't expect me to pay on the date. Some invited me over before we even got the bill. If you aren't a troll then I'm genuinely surprised you think very few men get genuine desire since surely you had girl friends who were crazy about guys you thought were mid at best
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/25 07:36 PM

Wrong, im barely average and i had genuine desire from women. It's rare but it happens
