No, you’re wrong. People don’t have an incentive to have kids because it’s “easy”. A high majority of single mothers are living in poverty, yet there are still many single parents. Why? Because unintended pregnancy rates increase due to other factors outside of an “incentive” to have children. You’re assuming that single parents “choose” to have kids when majority of them are a result of accidental pregnancies. And if both parents did choose to have children and one decides to abandon their fami…

The solution to mitigating rates of single parenthood isn't eliminating a woman's right to abortion or welfare. Not only is that unethical for both the parent and the child, but it's also ineffective. The most effective solution that statistical data can validate is the introduction of social safety nets that increase safe, easy, and affordable access to long-lasting contraception, such as free IUD's and comprehensive sex education. Universal day care is another policy that can be institutionali…

What’s funny about this comment is that this is the reason why countries still need feminism, and is probably the same reason they had to build an all-female factory to combat discrimination based on sexist stereotypes.

Because they’re degenerates that can’t contribute anything to society, so spend their time victimising themselves and complaining that women are hired in factories while simultaneously complaining women do not make up the majority of blue collar jobs.

The reason why it’s set up is to directly combat discrimination. Quotas would’ve been more favourable, but in rural regions of India, women are heavily underrepresented in education and the work force.

Rape-related pregnancies, as cited by the CDC, are overwhelmingly caused by abusive relationships. Therefore, they rightly constitute as pregnancy traps. Have you heard of stealthing? It's form of rape by men intending to "pregnancy-trap" a woman. I apologise if this is an assumption, as I don't want to assume your experiences, but you likely don't understand the rationality behind women not wanting to report their experiences because 1) you haven't experienced the trauma of sexual assault and; …

1) The point is, when doubled up, they provide 99% protection. Otherwise, there's vasectomy which is reversible. 2) One of the primary reasons why the female birth control fails is because women forget to take it consistently. So I guess both are affected. How do you forget a condom, though? Are you referring to one night stands? 3) The issue is, birth control isn't particularly pleasurable for women, either. Women face a lot of horrible side effects. There are no horrible side effects with cond…

You're calling this sub a circle jerk. So asking about similar subs isn't whataboutism. It's checking for a bias. You're assuming I come from a disingenuous position. I've already answered your question. I don't condone those groups. Even if I did, that doesn't negate that this subreddit is a circlejerk. So yes, it is whataboutism. I showed you that a male's lack of consent does not matter. Where in the law does it state that a male's consent to sex and reproduction does not matter? I showed this is at a significant cost, while women get it for free by federal law. Couldn’t the woman just report whoever is threatening her? A lot of rape charges ruin lives permanently even when false. There are many reasons why a woman may choose not to report, and if it were as simple as proposed, then we'd have no DV cases. Fear, guilt, and shame are all common feelings that abuse victims share that leads them to avoid reporting their experiences to the police and healthcare providers. Also, if you believe a lot of rape charges "ruins lives", you have been fed parroted in…

The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution guarantee "due process" to Americans. Due process basically means having the state recognize and respect each individual's legal rights. Courts have split due process up into two parts - "procedural due process" and "substantive due process." Procedural due process deals with the stuff required to make sure you get a fair trial. For example, making sure a defendant receives notice of court dates, is aware of the charges against them, etc. T…

The case of Shane Seyer was not an example of statutory rape. It was a judicial finding of child misconduct between two minors. I'm asking for a source on victimisation of rape. Unfortunately, court systems will always take the best interests of the child before the interests of the parents. Which is why this post is important to establish laws that protect rape victims, both male and female.

Bzzz, raped men and even statutorily raped 12yo boys are help responsible for child support, they had no choice. Men are also held responsible when it can be proved that this women lied about birth control or fish a used condom out of the trash and impregnate themselves. There is no choice and lack of consent is irrelevant. Yes, the justice system treats rape victims as a joke. Throwing someone in jail for not paying child support or enough child support is also an imposition of bodily rights. You consistently prove to me that you refuse to understand what bodily autonomy is. Bodily autonomy is not arbitrary. If what you are describing is truly an imposition of bodily rights, then no one would have to work or do anything in society. Except that's not a definition of bodily autonomy. Abortion is a constitutional right as demonstrated by the 14th amendment. Everyone has the right to self-govern and everyone has the right to a medical procedure. I think you're conflating two definitions of force here. drive or push into a specified position or state using physical strength or against resistance. make (someone) do something against their will. When you take away a woman's right to a medical procedure, you are forcing that woman to carry that pregnancy to term against her will b…

No, it's not my argument. Your analogy is missing the primary context which makes the abortion debate so controversial; bodily autonomy. The scenario you are comparing isn't a situation of a life imposing on another person's bodily autonomy. Furthermore, the mother is able to abandon her children without terminating their life with no repercussions. Again, incomparable.

Reason one Why are you going off on a tangent about war? The draft should be eradicated. Women shouldn't be forcing men to go to war just as much as men shouldn't be forcing women to give birth. Now I'm not saying that men do not deserve to have a say when it comes to terminating a pregnancy within a relationship, however, I don't understand why any man feels as though it's his place to tell a woman what to do with her body, let alone vote against her rights. My personal opinion is the mistake people commit while talking about abortion is to think we're talking about the woman's life. We're not talking about the woman's life. We're talking about the baby's life. The issue is that you're approaching this argument with a black and white view. The abortion debate is a nuanced discussion that relies on all factors to understand whether an action should be legal or illegal. Abortion does not only affect the ZEF's life, it also affects the woman's. I agree…

I agree. It's a bit of a sticky situation but ultimately, this is a result from biological differences that can't be altered. If the court system no longer forces men to pay child support? Hurray! We've achieved gender equality. On the flip side, though, the best interests of the child is now completely vanquished and they'll suffer as a result of the parents actions. It's best for everyone who isn't in a stable relationship and who don't want kids to double up on contraception.

I've never heard such a nonsensical analogy in my entire life. No, women can waiver their parental responsibilities at any given time. Those children are not reliant on the mother's organs, neither are they imposing on her bodily autonomy. A woman can abandon her child at a fire station or place her child up for adoption with zero repercussions.

I strongly disagree with that incentive. As I can recall, abortion law use to mandate that the parents of a minor and/or the partner should be aware of the woman seeking an abortion. The reason why this restriction is no longer mandated in most states is because it creates a vulnerability of abuse of power or coercion. Abusive relationships exist. Rape victims exist. If the 'abortion debate' is ever going to make any progress there will have to be some very relaxed limitations set on abortions, such that we end up with a legal definition of when an embryo is now considered a being with legal personhood.
