She started crying as we were waiting and rudely confronted the host. It was very uncomfortable. Also, I do not put my friend on a pedestal; I just trust his judgement. He is a colleague and a longtime friend from medical school. He'd have no reason to lie to me.

I'd have to disagree with Ed being bitter. Beta bucks perhaps simply due to his wealth. He is always in a jovial mood and is someone people like to be around and he's not at all desperate to please women so I'm not sure if beta is the right description. He is a touch arrogant, but this is understandable one someone has accomplished as much as Ed.

The physicality could be it. I do not drink and typically the first "date" is Starbucks or some other coffee place. I find it difficult to get physical there and I'm not a really touchy feely person.

It really depends on how strong your frame is. If you act like a meal ticket that's in awe of being in the presence of woman she'll make you wait. However, if you're rich, powerful, arrogant, and you own it it'll make things a lot easier for you. Do you think Leonardo Dicaprio's wealth makes it more difficult for him to get laid?

Yes, it is definitely feasible just set up your practice a hour or more away from a training program of your specialty. Most MDs get married during their residencies and settle down there. Thus creating an over supply of physicians in that area.

You're right I would honestly rather enjoy a nice QUIET meal on my own. With affirmative action I always joke the only doctor I want is an Asian male. They have it the hardest with affrimative action nowadays.

Unless you're AOA you wont get derm, ortho, or opth. Do not and I repeat do not ever be an employee. You're a fucking MD you shouldn't be taking orders from a 24 y/o MBA. Neuro actually is not too hard to get because of the long hours. When you open your practice do not do it by where you did your residency as there will be an excess of physcians. And obviously do some research in the field you wish to enter that will help you get the residency and during your electives show interest in it.

I get what you're saying about the suit however I do not want to pretend to be someone I'm not. When I'm not in the OR or doing an active physical hobby I'm typically always wearing a suit or a sport coat, or at the very least a nice button down. That's just the way I see myself. I definetly will start lifting though.
