Ok, I read your answer several times. What you outlined are several core aspects that should be respected and understood by a Christian Church. Every church that does not respect these in their teachings is contradicting central Christian truths. Thank you very much. This is helping me a lot to put some order in my thoughts...

Why it is important to find a church that doesn't lower it? No, I don't know... I think I know that it is emphasized that god gave his son for us to be freed from our sins. But I am just at the beginning to understand the religion I grew up with. So I think I do not know to what you are referring in particular. There is actually a catholic church that separated from roman catholicism some years ago because they refused to give up traditional values. However reading about them they seem also pretty cultish about the priest that was responsible for creating that community. I also thought about going there, I assume that the mass is in Latin. However, from their approach they somehow remind me about age old dead catholic marriages without love, respect and trust, that one can see so often in eastern Europ…

Thank you. And what if I feel the need to be closer to god? Intuitively I feel that I need god more than Jesus? Please excuse, if I sound pretentious, but what if I feel and know that I am saved and only really long for god? I have so much growth ahead of me. Jesus forgives, but god shows us our faults?

Thank you for your answer. Can you point out some of the books that you have in mind? Maybe I can try to understand if the ideas are indeed similar. We have free choice, so the decision on how we use the knowledge we gain is ours. If this knowledge could be made accesible to everybody then everybody can consciously decide which side he wants to join. By no means would I want to eisegete* the bible.
