Visiting r/gc will leave you feeling like you need a shower. And it has been said that if you are transgender and visit r/gc, it should be considered self-harm.

They call themselves "feminists". Next question!

"Gender Critical" is nothing more than a euphemism for "We hate transgender people and we hate men." They have their own little hate sub on Reddit if you want to learn more about them, but you'll feel like you need a shower afterwards.

I heartily agree with you that "divorce rape", as we know it, is a horrible injustice and I hope that some day in the future, we will look back on it in disbelief the same way we look back on Jim Crow. However, the family courts, as we know them, are a relatively new human institution. Furthermore, of all the people who get divorced, there are many who amicably settle their divorces. It's the ones who use the system to do awful things that make it infamous. That being said, you don't have to rea…

What if male-female relations are indeed adversarial and we are in denial because it doesn't "sound nice"? Then we are a sorry lot, indeed. /u/ironjohnmra above mentions Warren Farrell and his book "The Myth of Male Power". Farrell made a nice talk called "From Role Mates to Soul Mates" (Google it) in which he implores us to move beyond the gender roles that have been pushed upon us. He thinks that for the first time in history, we have the ability to chose something better than simple what work…

I recommend "Survival of the Friendliest and Kindest" by Damien Marie AtHope. This essay explores the link between "nartual selection", as we've come to know it, and how human beings evolved as a social species.

I read a few chapters of this and it seems absolutely awful to me. If you want a book that tries to reduce every aspect of interaction and relation between a man and a woman to an adversarial situation, this is the book for you. If you want to steep yourself deep in a gender wars mindset, this is the book for you. If you want to look at your spouse and see them as nothing more than someone you get to do stuff for you, this is your book. If you want a book that takes all the humanity out of human…

Here's a nice wholesome comment someone left: As an ACTUAL feminist, I simply cannot stand articles like this. Feminists want EQUALITY. Not restitution. Yes there is a power imbalance when one person makes the money and another stays home, so if you actually want equal power, don't stay home. When childcare is involved this issue gets muddier, but you are complaining that you suffered due to marriage even though you had free room and board while you wrote your diss? What do you think women do wh…

Yang has said that he rejects support from white nationalists and anti-Semites. He also told The Daily Beast that while he wants parents to have more information about circumcision, he wouldn’t support a ban on practice. He doesn't promise to ban it; only to discourage it.

All I have to say is that my wife has a handful of female friends, and from my experiences with them, they are some of the most pleasant people I know of to be around. The nastiest people shriek the loudest!

Given that you're going to need the answer to the question for the job, I would suggest that in addition to being aware of the stigma against reporting, I would suggest that one might need to be cognizant that a male rape victim's emotional needs might be different from a female's.

I look at your link to what Sonja Starr said about federal criminal cases. She is indirect about it, but she suggests that too many men are in jail.

It sounds messed up to me. Still, FWIW, this article isn't about sentencing; it's about women who are sentenced to "community orders" (is that the UK version of "community service"?) and "suspended sentences", not women who are convicted of a crime and awaiting sentencing, altho I'm sure there are those who are insane enough to want to grant a national vagina pass. I once had a roommate who swore up and down that the system he got involved with (a county in the USA) really got off on punishing p…

From the article: “We know that the vast majority of women who come into contact with the criminal justice system have experienced significant adversities before they do so – whether that may be due to exploitation as a child or as an adult, because of domestic abuse or sexual violence, alcohol or substance misuse. I've read that most men who end up in the "criminal justice system" also have a history of being abused. As a matter of fact, there was one study, which I googled for but cannot find,…

Here is why MRAs and feminists should agree that those who file false rape accusations should be severely punished. False rape victims cause great harm to rape victims because their false testimony calls into question the validity of the testimony from real rape victims. Simple as that.

George Orwell wrote his magnum opus "1984" near the end of his life in 1948, which is now 70 years ago. In his book, he realistically depicted a long-standing war with the parties at war having no intention of ever "winning" the war, but rather keeping the world in a perpetual state of hostilities for political purposes.

Eisenhower understood the true cost of war and that war profiteers rarely suffer from the consequences of it. We've have been in a perpetual state of war for nearly 20 years now with no end in sight because it's keeping the pockets of military contractors lined. Meanwhile, soldiers continue to die out there or at home from suicide. It needs to stop. Death is the winner of every war.

Stackoverflow is one of the top web sites on the internet for sharing programming knowledge. Many great minds are on that site and I would imagine that Stackoverflow is more representative of the more competent programming professionals out there, so I think it's a good place for this little social experiment.

I appreciate you taking the time to share this link. It sounds like Yang has some interesting solutions, and he announced on his Twitter that he officially has support needed to be included in the upcoming debates, so it should be interesting to see how people respond to his proposals.

Most of it is actually blocked out of my memory, to the point I cant even remember what she looks like, or her name. This is called "dissociative amnesia"; it is a survival mechanism to protect you from traumatic memories. Some newer therapeutic techniques, such as EMDR, might help bring some resolution to the trauma you experienced.

I just took a look at his campaign web site that you linked. It says "Universal Basic Income" right on the front page. That's hardly considered a "moderate left" position by most of the electorate. Even the Scandinavian countries that "far-left" Bernie Sanders admire don't provide UBI.

That one about the abuser who received "street justice" proves how dangerous it is when people lose faith in law enforcement and the courts to provide justice. These institutions are one of the cornerstones of a civilized society, and without them, we end up with tragedies like the Hatfields and McCoys. For the government to systemically deny justice puts us all at risk.

The failure of human empathy is incredible. Meanwhile, normal human beings seek out human connections that can never be provided by sex dolls and vibrators. (not that sex dolls and vibrators are intrinsically bad; they just can't provide everything a human being needs in an intimate relationship)

How weird! The poisoning scene that was supposed to make Hamlet's uncle break down made a British girl break down over 400 years later. Do you remember the story? Seeing his uncle break down convinced Hamlet that his uncle was, in fact, the killer of his father, but when Hamlet saw his uncle praying to God for mercy, he decided to hold off on his vigilante justice killing because he feared that if he did it right then and there, his uncle might have been saved and gone to heaven.

There was a story in the Denver Post a few years back about a guy who was convicted of murdering his wife for the life insurance money when she "accidentally" fell off a cliff in the Rocky Mountains.

Actually, it's similar to the plot of the film "A Simple Favor" that I saw a few weeks ago. Really good movie. My wife told me she had seen the trailer for it. It was spooky how oblivious the doting husband was to his narcissistic, stone-cold sociopath of a wife in spite of all the signs that something was wrong with her.

I'm not a legal expert, but were I in this guy's shoes, I would be sure to document any communication with her regarding being "kicked out" and share with my attorney. Just because she was able to do it doesn't mean that it was legal. I had a co-worker back in the day who, even in spite of being hit with a hefty alimony judgment (which fortunately for him, did end after a handful of years, or so I heard), was able to recoup some of the equity in his marital home. I've been told that if you're go…

Who says he was "forced" to move out? Did he agree to this as part of the divorce settlement? Was it decreed by the court? If the divorce is still pending, a good lawyer could have a conversation with him about how to negotiate the division of the marital assets.

When you talk about "the left", I imagine you talking about people like Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi: career politicians who have been in Washington for many years who have established connections and built careers around saying the "correct" things and using their power in the "correct" ways. It's true that many of these leftists pay lip service to being anti-war while continuing to operate the war machine. I doubt that I should ever speak to someone like this in my life. I'…

Thanks for this post. I think you've taken a critical look at an important issue. What you've written brings to mind my memories of a friend I used to know years back. Let's call him "Bob". Bob was a successful man by many measures. He was smart and witty and people looked up to him. Then again, he had some habits that revealed that he suffered from troublesome attitudes. For example, he compulsively would be late for meetings in her personal life and make people wait for him. Another aquiantanc…

The danger is that they buy into the feminist Sex War narrative that says all women are on one side and all men are on the other side in a war (which the feminists blame all men for of course). I'm glad that you're saying this because I well and truly despise sexism. I really do. I have no words to describe how much I utterly loathe the way that human beings are socialized to identify with members of the same sex and look upon members of the opposite sex with suspicion and even jealousy and hate…

If you think I'm suggesting that what your ex has done is okay, you have misunderstood. From what you've said, it sounds like she's a lying, manipulating sociopath, and you are the victim of her gaslighting. I'm simply telling you that there is a particular word for her behavior: gaslighting. Gaslighting refers to abusive behavior in which an abuser tries to make their victim doubt their memory or sanity. It's frequently reported by victims of personality-disordered intimate partners, parents, w…

My ex is a master manipulator and can cry at will like a mofo. She plays the victim so well in any tense situation that sometimes, even I second-guess myself. There's a word for it. We call it "gaslighting". Sociopaths, narcissists, and other personality-disordered people often make it into an art.

I'm actually curious about how they would define the difference between "third wave feminists" and other types of "feminists", or what "male apologist" even means, but frankly, I'm already feeling quite enough perturbed and I'd rather not dig any deeper because I don't imagine I'd like what I find. ;-)

Serious question here: I see links to documentaries and other information frequently shared on this sub. In a way, it's preaching to the choir. Is this films inclusion in Netflix likely to get it in front of significant numbers of people who may not already be familiar with its message? Are people likely to watch it just because it's on Netflix?

What you write reminds me of the arguments regarding spanking children. The author Alice Miller was, during her lifetime, one of the most prominent opponents of spanking. And just like circumcision, adults who grew up being spanked would simply say, "It was good enough for me, so it must be good enough for my children." Miller liked to say, "When I was growing up, I was spanked frequently, I lived in a house painted with lead-based paint, adults smoked in every room of the house, and when we wen…

he won't get blowjobs if he has a natural penis Frankly, I don't think I want a blowjob from someone who would prefer to give it to a circumcised penis. A quick Google search finds a study done of boys born in Ontario (http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/UTI/to/). According to their statistics, circumcision does significantly reduce the risk of UTI, but according to their data from a five-year follow-up, you would have to circumcise 625 boys to prevent a single UTI hospitalization, on average.
