Yup, although many Americans can't handle that responsibility. Dave's target audience is Americans that use CCs like alcoholics use booze. If a person can have the discipline and intentionality to use a CC responsibly, it's no big deal but that tends to be the exception rather than the rule. Personally, I was very hesitant for many years to get a CC with a decent rewards program because I was worried that I could be quite average in that regard and induced to spend more just for 'points.'

Yeah, I've just always been told that the rate of return is pretty lousy but am always curious to hear anecdotal information to the contrary. Sometimes things like that are a kick in the butt to actually research and upset an assumption like 'precious metals are a lousy investment vehicle.'

I don't know... my rule in life is to not get hurt/fucked over by not giving anyone the opportunity to screw me over me to begin with. This violates that. Sure, I know I could get out of a pinch if I had to with plenty of evidence and legal assistance but it's still damaging and not worth my trouble. To each their own... I think I sleep easier than most though.
