My best friend is male. We worked in a traumatic work setting together (male dominated feild) and have a lot of friends in common. I am not really interested in overly girly things (fashion, make up) and he doesn't have overly masculine interests. But I helped him when he was recovering from alcoholism and he helped me when I lost my parents. There is nothing sexual at all, he is like an adopted brother. I do think working in a heavily male dominated field influences it though.

As others have mentioned there are other things I'd be concerned about, but to your question - I personally never ever ride with someone on the first date. Its a safety thing that I always have even if I knew him beforehand. You never know what kind of LV behavior might emerge when he thinks he is dating you!

I'm just above the same cusp. I will do up to 5 years older but would only go 1 to 2 younger because my upbringing is much closer to a millennial than zoomer and don't want to date a zoomer.

90% agree. Don't you dare tell me the cat stays outside ect. She's a housecat and doing anything that could hurt her is an automatic break up. I call her all kinds of names though 🤣🤣

This. I've never told a guy I dated I'm bi. I just avoid pronouns when talking about exs. Of course it helps I've never had a really serious relationship with a man.

This and the fact that we are a fetish are the reasons I've yet to tell a guy I dated my actual sexuality!

I had the guy I was seeing ghost when I told him my father had cancer and was dying. For vetting in the future I think I'm going to make sure I talk to guys about his illness and death just to see how they react

Notice he mentions she must be active (skinny) and have her life together twice but then only says he is fun!

Curiosity from a guy I'm talking to. What if a guy previously dated a much younger girl but is now dating older? Is it still a red flag? Or learning from mistakes?

This has got to be satire...

Elsa from frozen not dating while she tries to figure herself out and encouraging her sister to have higher standards than the average Disney princess - "you can't marry a man you just met".

This is so frustrating. I had (what I thought) was a good friend who I had rejected. We had stayed friends so I thought until one day I asked for his help with moving something (he had a truck and it was a 20 min job) and he bitched me out. Turns out he got a girlfriend.

I had something similar happen too. I was stuck with a male psychiatrist for a year who gaslight me, and basically destroyed the mental health I had when I walked in. It was terrible and haven't seen a therapist since.

Sexism in STEM is still an everyday occurrence and many places are downright hostile to anything to do with family accommodations. But sure. Men are being pushed out. I DARE any of these scotes who think this to come deal with my day to day life....

That was my thought, especially when she got to the head banging tantrum

My formal title is going to be Dr (Last Name) in the very near future, and it isn't going to change for anybody. If I ever marry I may socially go by my husband's last name but will not legally change it.

I did think Frozen was a step in the right direction. The main relationship is one of sisters and Elsa outright mocks Ana for being a pickme. Then Ana meets an actual HVM.

That's what I should have done. I just couldn't believe he was starting on a first date. He then had the nerve to ask how I thought the date went at the end!

Seriously. I recently went on a first date with one of these types and it was the worst date I ever went on. We ended up arguing politics the whole time. The food even sucked but at least he paid.

Perhaps if you are so insecure about your kink that you can be "shamed" its because deep down you realize wanting to beat your girlfriend during sex isn't acceptable 🤔

Yeah there is no way they didn't know. This person's been a mod for a long time

Yeah honestly this was my thought this person (who I'm not entirely convinced is actually female) has some serious mental health issues well above reddit's pay grade.

This has been one of my hard limits for a long time. Both for the vetting and just because I see it as a safety thing (I have also been roofied)

Why would they have to do something for them? Most people don't get extra support when they leave a job /s It almost nauseated me to even sarcastically say that....

I've been lurking for a while and recently started commenting too. I feel this. I was already doing a lot of the things listed here too, but still have alot to work ok. But this site does create a lot of solidarity. Before finding this I often felt like I was "damaged" or "broken" for not trusting men and feeling uncomfortable with the things they do. FDS is starting me on the journey of recognizing that ALL women do experience these things and I shouldn't have to fix myself to accept male depra…
