Did I get "too good" of a deal in my divorce? Should I pay her back money she gave to me?Your divorce sounds pretty fair actually. The fact it’s more difficult post-divorce for your ex is simply the reality of divorce. She’s going to have to accept that & figure it out for herself. Ignore her. She’s no longer your problem. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/24 03:22 AM
My brother in law was forced to get a circumcision at age 17 by his mother. The women I speak to don't see this as sexual abuse. His penis was damaged and he still is humiliated to this day.I do. That’s horrific and I’m sorry he went thru that. | /r/MensRights | 28/02/24 05:34 PM
If I agree to terrible alimony can I get it changed later or ignore her completely ?She doesn’t math much, does she? Why would she turn down an extra 200k? That runs longer? | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/24 01:21 AM
Pretty sure my ex ruined herself financiallyI would absolutely go after her for full reimbursement of those medical bills. That’s not even being mean. Its the consequences of her deliberate actions. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/09/23 12:32 PM
Financially fucked.Judge: so you want the money back you’ve paid in all these years? Do you believe your GFs father was responsible for you living rent-free all these years? Or that you’re owed a refund for the rent you paid? The exact rent means he gave you a bargain. I wish you the best & hope it works out. Its an unfortunate situation to be in. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/23 12:42 PM
Financially fucked.Sounds like a very long shot. Inheritance laws are pretty clear on separation from actual marriage, and you are only a BF unless you have taken steps to be officially common-law. Its not automatic after a certain time generally. Your sole recourse is trying to claw back some of what you spent on updates alone, & that’s a steep hill without contracts. You can attempt to sue for just about anything. And a lawyer will happily take your money & fight for as long as you pay, but winning your case is … | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/23 12:25 PM
Financially fucked. There is no such thing as “intent to inherit” anything. Short of a written signed contract in exchange for work you’ve done, her dad can leave his house to anyone he likes, or change his mind until the end. Even if you stay together or were married, he can still give it to her alone and you have no rights to it. Inheritance is not a marital asset. Best case you can sue for some money back, but that’s a long shot in this situation. She’s his heir, you’re his tenant. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/09/23 12:01 PM
Let her go!!Great point. I struggled with whether to have a “I really really mean it” talk so he understands splitting is inevitable with this dynamic. But I cannot point to a single time that trying to discuss these things went ok & by ok I mean didn’t turn into him deflecting it into nasty insults. So yeah. Im fully accepting there’s no use & hes only going to improve when I actually leave. Too little too late. So why give him these then? First, I’m not repeating myself again. Every issue we have has been… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/23 04:18 PM
Let her go!!It’s interesting how different subs react. This is one of 3 articles I will be handing my husband to explain why we are divorcing if that time hits. He will likely have the same reaction as these other commenters. The others are the Why Didn’t You Ask For Help? comic & Alexandra Blogier article Why Wives Are Never In The Mood. Spot fucking on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/23 11:47 AM
Let her go!!Im still married but this is me. Been together 30 years & Ive been processing the reality that we aren’t going to make it for a few years now. He will not do basic adulting (mow yard, dog poo, throw trash in trash bin) nor share in basic household upkeep (chores or fixing things that break). He spends his time watching sports, gaming, or on his phone. Those are the only 3 subjects he talks about & will actively deflect to them if I’m talking about something he finds boring or uncomfortable. Stop… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/07/23 11:23 AM
She's so in love now and wants away from me so much she is now agreeing to 51/49 me, no alimony, no child supportSo you’re watching the clock for 2 months until she signs? I’d make sure she has plenty of alone time with her new friend. Last thing you need is them blowing up & her refusing to sign. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/05/23 04:30 PM
Am I over reacting?I would not block a person because my mate was insecure. That’s someone else setting my boundary. I DO know that I would shut down attempts - in person or otherwise - at being inappropriate instantly & definitively. I can be pleasant with an ex, but I don’t tolerate flirting and we ain’t friends. OP’s lady is less clear on her priorities, all the way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/03/23 12:11 PM
The BEST parts about being divorcedI don’t want to start a fight I feel this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/23 02:51 AM
CMV : Women are so militant and unforgiving with guys they're dating because they’re almost 100 percent confident “their perfect man” is waiting for them in the futureNot at all. But why settle? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/03/23 12:05 AM
How to convince my wife to do an uncontested divorce?I snorted reading this, OP! | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/03/23 04:11 AM
It's exhausting to make female friendsLook, girls see right thru that looks cool - whats your name?. Its good for 30 seconds of awkward questions then you’re expected to actually interact. If a stranger is engaging one in conversation, they need a reason to do so that has nothing to do with appearance. For the example you give here: she’s approached by a stranger who knows literally nothing about what she loves to do & not a single point in common to approach her. Hard no. This is why it’s advised to have hobbies & interests. It tak… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/02/23 10:23 PM
The Luckiest man aliveGently, you just officially filed. I sincerely hope she means what she said, but often the amicable divorce plan changes real quick once the process is underway. Particularly where money is involved. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/01/23 09:37 AM
Wife wants a divorceGive her the divorce. You cannot make her happy. Let her go find the one who can. Be decent for a later co-parenting relationship. She is still hoping you can give her what she wants, but you can’t. Her brain knows, her heart is stupid. | /r/MarriedRedPill | 06/12/22 09:13 PM
Why would my soon to be ex wife lie and say "I don't even have any boyfriends."?Some just physically cannot admit to shit. I used to compare my cheating ex to that old Eddie Murphy skit. “Wasn’t me/ I saw you/ wasn’t me, baby”. To this day, will still lie straight to your face on stupid stuff. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/11/22 04:53 PM
Women are often harsher, ruder, more dismissive, and more uncaring to male strangers than the other way aroundI promise women understand it’s not every one. The decent ones aren’t approaching strange women on the street tho. The mere act already inherently puts them in the No box. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 23/10/22 09:55 PM
Women are often harsher, ruder, more dismissive, and more uncaring to male strangers than the other way aroundI do not owe a stranger my attention for a single second because they found me attractive. If a stranger approaches me without a reason, I shut it down immediately. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 23/10/22 09:12 PM
In for a fight, does it sound like I have a chance?Exactly! And you can pause at any time in the process. But if you wait 4 months, you’re stretching out being done. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/10/22 07:28 AM
Predicting the futureGetting her willingly out of the home is so worth it. I’d worry about her coming back in 6 months when reality cuts thru her fog. Can she be barred from the home once she has self-evicted for 1/2 a year? She owns 1/2 but what’s the law going to say here? | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/22 12:40 AM
What should a man’s role be in deciding whether to have an abortion? If he’s carrying it, he decides. I support that 100%. | /r/MensRights | 01/09/22 07:49 PM
Serving papersI’d say you’re spot on there. Good luck. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/08/22 12:23 PM
Last Alimony PaymentThe bad part isn’t her getting that last check. Its a month later when the next check isn’t arriving like she’s used to. Its going to be quite the adjustment. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/08/22 06:01 PM
“Pick better men” is a cop out to not hold men accountablePeople who are raised with healthy boundaries, examples, and behaviors are better capable of cutting toxic people out. Its not a cop-out. Its pretty standard at this point overall. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 07/08/22 12:20 PM
“Pick better men” is a cop out to not hold men accountableIn truth, that girl probably has grown up in an environment where boundaries weren’t respected/taught. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/08/22 12:51 PM
“Pick better men” is a cop out to not hold men accountableI believe this is because women are conditioned to GET a man, but in no way conditioned to LEAVE a man at the first red flag. Growing up watching near-zero accountability for abusers both in society & in the home; lack of basic sex ed that covers consent/abuse/boundary information overall; & the patterns we subconsciously repeat from our immediate lives. It always starts out well (or it wouldn’t be starting) and we put all the positive things on one side of a scale & weigh it against that 1 or 2… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 05/08/22 12:20 PM
Contemplating divorceI would be advising her to cut bait here. No kids, no house, no need to argue over rudimentary sex education. You obviously don’t respect her so let her go. You can do all the things you feel you are missing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/22 07:01 PM
| -4 | Harassment by YellowFever46He blocked you so you got on an alt account to call him out to continue arguing? Okey-dokey. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/07/22 01:16 AM |
My wife took our one month old son and left the houseNope. Im not even going here. Your mom is the pediatrician and you’re arguing baby feeding rights to the woman breastfeeding a 1 month old? This one’s got a bunch of fun stories in the background, doesn’t it? | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/22 07:44 AM
Do you think in the next couple of decades MAINSTREAM discourse will be "don't encourage average/below average men to expect or seek sex, love and relationships"?This may sound harsh, but there may be more realization for “average/below average” men that they could seek out other “average/below average” prospective mates, instead of wondering why their hot crush doesn’t feel the same. While totally ignoring smart, funny, & loving people who are also average/below in the looks department. Millions of great people wanting to also find love/sex, just like them. One can not be blessed with looks, but still be the kindest, or the most into what you’re into, o… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 01:26 PM
Here is the one and only advice that will work for you average and even unattractive menOP’s advice is essentially “friend-zone” yourself & bide your time. Probably works sparingly. An extremely common complaint from women overall (lifts the curtain) is guys who do exactly this. Repeatedly: he was a good friend, trusted him forever, find out he has just been waiting for his chance, often for years. Hurt & betrayal are the most cited feelings. And it changes everything instantly. Women DO instantly decide if a guy is “fuckable”. While that can change over time, it generally does not… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 24/06/22 05:40 AM
