Fair. I don't like that much either.

I know, I know, it's not an airport, but I am leaving PPD today. It's wild that I can't call out a 10+ year user who regularly makes outrageous generalizations about an entire gender like this post does. I'm saying one person is ridiculous based on evidence and truth. She and other OPs like her slander men en masse baselessly. Garbage.

I'm not riled up about her. That childcare and support payment stuff sounds like specific men who aren't me, or all men, and it's a disorienting non-sequitur, but you do you.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:07 AM

Ah, the ebb and flow of PPD. Some days, there are a good handful of thought-provoking posts and engaging discussion that I enjoy following. Other days, a string a posts that make me go 'WTF?' at the OPs' delusional diatribes. May the one constant never wane, the indomitable will of LoB and her manic ranting, the bulwark which sustains our beloved subreddit and its colored-pill-obsessed folk.

I agree with your assessment about the double standard about passivity and how life might be better if things weren't so gendered, but I don't think it is as apparent as you suggest that Nikki likes Bear, or that she is as responsible as him for the movie's events. She is trying to clear the air and make their relationship explicit when she asks if he likes her. What I don't appreciate is the online discourse which suggests that all shy men are some short leap away from taking away women's agenc…

For fuck's sake. The singular of "women" is "woman."
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:35 AM

Feels like the antidepressants aren't working any more. There's no sufficient substitute for romantic companionship. All of my siblings succeeded. Every woman I meet actually receives attention from others.

Thank you for articulating this. I had similar feelings. Media literacy and the ability to process nuance feel so dead amongst general audiences. Yeah, Bear has despicable qualities, for how he lets things progress, but the loud boiled-down sentiment of "nice guys bad" is such a bastardization of the film's themes, a complete dismissal of Bear's personhood.

It is overwhelmingly women who espouse the notion that they have larger and better support networks and it tracks with my anecdotal experience, and many articles about the experiences of men vs women. I don't think you or I, as PPD visitors, are particularly representative of average men/women. My response to your question is rooted in my personal achievements and experience, where my female peers have much more apparent social opportunity than myself or my male peers. I thought a lot about how …

In a heartbeat. I would have received so much more attention and willing friendship as a woman having done the things I have done than I do as a man. I don't think some women understand what rich social lives they possess compared to many men, and how much gender plays a role in it.

The girl dinner diaries subreddit is a bit infuriating to see sometimes as a lonely dude. They be like "my bf hits me with a stick and calls me a bitch and doesn't do any housework and doesn't listen to me, I offer to suck his dick twice a day, what am I doing wrong?"

What do you mean by "mog" in this context? I thought "mogging" someone meant to point out that they are less attractive. I got this impression from a twitch clip on reddit where a streamer 'totally mogged' someone by comparing their looks to someone else. Just tryna understand the lingo. A quick google search seemed to confirm this definition. Is it just another new term that doesn't really mean anything?

No. I still live with my folks so it's a bit of a non-starter. When women have so many options, especially online, they don't need to accept a guy who still lives with his folks. Nor do they have to have their own space to date easily. I committed to meeting women through shared hobbies, mostly performance arts. I dated three women. One put near-zero effort into things, was a total ice queen, and only cared about herself (an observation others eventually made about her as well). One went crazy w…

Two weeks on antidepressants! Minimal side effects. Folks say that I won't feel the full effects until 6 weeks, but they immediately seemed to stop me from ruminating the way I used to. The gears just don't turn like that anymore. I used to spin and spin into memories from my failed relationships and feeding into this sort of subconscious belief that if I thought about them enough, they'd be 'solved' like a puzzle, if I just figured out some 'truth' about them. Now it's just... I feel like I can…

Day 1 of antidepressants! Better not tell anyone because women in my life have shunned me whenever I share about mental health despite all the clamoring for men to get therapy etc etc

I wish I could receive a comparable amount of attention from women for the things I do that the women I know recieve from men for doing the same things or even less. I am close to getting over the hurdle which states that things are just unfair and I need to adjust my actions to compensate for it, but it's a bitter pill after arts school and enthusiastic allyism having thought men didn't need to live up to stereotypes of masculinity in the same way that women are far less subject to the demands …

Shouldn't partners validate each other at least somewhat? Is it aaking too much for any validation from my partner? Is it so strange that young men are low on validation nowadays?

I am male (okay bisexual but still) and I don't want casual sex. Average women have access to *meeting potential partners* far above the average man. We don't even have to bring casualness into it. The advantage exists without that intention. Also, for fuck's sake OP, like, double-check your writing, seeing the "causal" typo doesn't help my lack of faith in humanity.

Hogwarts Legacy comes out today! Time to buy it and run home to play it after work but probably put it down after 8-10 hours because video games don't quite distract from my decimated self-worth and loneliness as well as they used to

Possibility. Don't think so. I'm not talking about finding out via rejection. Just through conversation and observation. I kind of get it. If I were a woman and didn't want to be single, I probably wouldn't be.

I think it would just be cool if I could meet single women through common interests and meetups, but they are never ever single. Ever. Never never never. This is my biggest gripe with online dating is that women date men from completely outside their social circle and men who desire organic development of relationships are left in the dust.

Something feels discongruous about our general disavowal of just world fallacy on the one hand and the "you're the problem!" response on the other. But I mostly need to vet my partners better, indeed.

Generally, my relationships with the opposite sex have been "give give give give give--get nothing" and I am torn with feeling impetus to put myself out there and resolve the sense of loneliness and unfulfillment, but feel like a third time around that ends the same way will just destroy me.

The idea that women care about how a man treats other men (or at least, cares whether they treat them well) seems very bogus to me and not in line with my experience EDIT: I think this is it for me on PPD. It's the classic PPD paradigm: men make posts about incredible frustration in their experiences with younger women (~22, who tend to seek excitement) and older women (~30, who tend to seek commitment) respond about their preferences. They're both being completely honest. I don't know. It would…

Women pretty much look at how you behave around men Yes! Are you sufficiently rude to other men? Do you make everything a dramatic enough competition? Have you conveyed your superiority to the correct degree? Do you have long enough list of nice men you bullied in your youth? Come on down!

not harassing other people should be baseline standard human decency. Being a good man is baseline Women's dating habits reveal this to not be the case. Your lonely well that's not on the same level as bring harassed and made to feel afraid in the street in broad daylight. Agreed, although on a case-by-case basis, I wonder if some women's delusional daytime worries about maybe or maybe not getting truly harassed affect society as greatly as the mental state of men who are very palpably alone, lo…

Where do I get to cash in my "I haven't harassed women for my entire life and watched droves of women fall all over themselves for toxic men and yet I suffer years of loneliness at a time" card? There is no reward for being a good man. Over and over and over on PPD I read female complaints about receiving unwanted attention. I haven't acted inappropriately. Where is my cookie?

I have seen unnecessary commas in Reddit titles so frequently lately. Head asprode. What even is the function of this title's comma? I hate it.

If you want to say "Red Pill guys" don't try to understand women, that's an interesting argument to make, but I thought we were talking about "men." I don't see Myron from F&F (whichever of the obnoxious grifters that guy is) as representing "men" at all. I don't think all men who are trying to understand women are red pillers.

Women will do anything besides actually trying to gain a better understanding of men FTFY I see non-stop discussion and content on the internet in which men try to understand women. On the other side of the fence I mostly see entitlement and posts like yours which stereotype men as lazy sex-seeking neanderthal robots.

You don't think there is any element of outside circumstances that generate social awkwardness? How about the increased atomization of society and the alienation that can come with everything being online, and the dissolution of traditional male spaces? Is there nothing to be said for the in-group bias of women and the out-group bias of men which gives rise to women receiving more social attention i.e. more experience i.e. validation i.e. a positive feedback loop? What about the popularity of th…
