I miss this sub 🥹 I got roasted on another sub today for saying a 32 year old man who lives with his mom gives me the ick lol

So excited I can see the sub again! I had a lot of helpful posts and comments saved. I can only access it on my desktop though, not my phone. Edit: nvm, can access it on both! Save posts while you still can, ladies!

I really don't understand that and I've been seeing it more lately. They just want the benefits of what a woman provides without doing anything for her or to sustain a healthy relationship. And if you're too lazy and/or don't have the emotional skills to sustain a healthy relationship, how can you have children??? I don't get it.

If they still have "looking for something casual" anywhere in their profile, and you're looking for something serious, that's a no.

If the first thing someone "likes" about me is my picture, no. "Hey". Also, no. I'd unmatch after that.

It is rather disturbing to ban someone from any sort of discussion when literally the only thing they've said is to ask for a link or source. Fuck research and citations, amirite!?

"no further communication is wanted" after breaking their "informativity rule" (? lol) demonstrates that it had nothing to do with what I said. Meanwhile, the person I responded to (who wasn't just saying empty bs that lacked any research to back it up, but who was also hostile to others) only got a 3 day ban. Lol. It's definitely because I'm on this sub, and certainly not because of anything I've written or any rule-breaking. I guess they just want an echo chamber of emotions and rhetoric inste…

The scientific proven way to deter prostitution is to criminalize the buying of sex. But then most of the people getting arrested would be men, and we can't have that /s

I kind of feel the same way, but it was nuanced enough for me I guess. It was basically what I expected from the show. One thing I'm glad they pointed out is that a man was convicted of rape in New Zealand for stealthing a sex worker. Stealthing needs to be discussed more and taken more seriously.

Ew. You know they love seeing that shit because they use it to justify their own sick behaviour and normalize male violence against women. "See? Rape is natural!" Hurr hurr. 🤮

I've become so conscious of this recently. Even if someone else says "girls" when they're referring to women, I won't repeat it back to them. I'll specifically say woman or women.

Being late is inconsiderate and you should always arrive a few minutes early, but I first noticed "get the only table they have left"... He shows up 5 minutes before to get a table. He wasn't even sure if they had a table. He wasn't even sure what he was doing. Did she know that? Or did he text her 10-15 minutes before like, "lol, ok almost there. Gotta find a table!" In which case, I wouldn't exactly rush either. If we're having dinner at a busy place that takes reservations, then why not make …

The point is it's important for women to be financially independent and self-sufficient. If you're financially independent and self-sufficient, then you can leave.

This is terrifying. I'm a white woman and I've been attacked by men of colour (and white men) and naturally I've been hesitant to call the police due to the disgusting police brutality people of colour face. One man was so aggressive I started filming him, then he slapped the phone out of my hand, took it and tried to run off. But his car was parked nearby, I live in a good neighbourhood, the neighbours apprehended him, I got my phone back, and police weren't involved. To be frank, I don't know …

There was also a point in our Zoom interview where he said my mic wasn't working properly and he couldn't hear me (after awhile of talking, and I haven't had that problem before, but anyway). I moved towards my computer screen to better speak into the mic, and you couldn't see my face as well. This is more FLUS, but I need to post this somewhere and get it off my chest because I haven't talked to anyone about it yet. So last week I noticed I was exhibiting pick-me behaviour in regards to a career opportunity. I noticed red flags in this office environment and the head boss (an older male), and originally I attempted to ignore them simply because of how long I had admired them. It kept nagging at me, especially the head boss who attempted to be dominant in the situation ("if we bring y…

I feel this, and it's so annoying. Sometimes I dress in baggy, androgynous clothing just so men will stop looking at me but that doesn't stop them 🥲 I'll dress as manly as I possibly can but somebody will still be staring at my tits in the check-out line 🙄

Yes. I'm also reserved and feel as though I could write the exact same post. Men are slowly waking up to the fact that women can provide for themselves and quite simply don't need them. Now they actually have to behave in a way that attracts and keeps us. They have to be likable, attentive, and considerate which requires too much effort and "investment" (lest their fragile egos become crushed by rejection).

Telling him you're happy to wait til he's comfortable to pay for dinner was guiding him. Pandemic or not, inviting someone to come over for the second time meeting is suspicious. It's a red flag. It's putting yourself in his territory, on his terms, and puts the pressure on for intimacy... Does anyone else hate when men do this? If we're not dating, don't send me good morning and good night messages. It annoys me.

Lil Kim did female empowerment much better. "Not Tonight", "Spend A Little Doe"

Yeah it’s definitely a way for them to continue their shitty behavior with no accountability. I was with somebody like that for a bit. "I told you I'm trash, what did you expect?" Um, a grown man who is accountable and seeks to improve himself, not one who uses his "being" trash as an excuse to stop acting like trash.

Whenever a man says "I don't deserve you", I believe him and move along. Lol

GUILTY AS CHARGED! However, I'm actively working to remove these terms from my conversations. Thanks for this reminder! Love it!

I was briefly seeing somebody and started to notice this same sort of behaviour. It didn't last very long and I felt like it was the right decision but sometimes I would wonder if I was being "unreasonable". Thanks for sharing.

That's good you're comforting yourself :) just one more note - an event that might be "fine" for one person may not be fine for somebody else. Life events are always processed in different ways for different people. What you're feeling is 100% valid!

It's perfectly normal to feel this way and I've felt the same. It's an invasive procedure, and while the person is a professional, they're still a stranger and it's a personal experience. I'd like to echo what another user wrote and make sure you treat yourself afterwards. It might help to also do something before one of these appointments to help you relax (meditation, a steamy shower, a funny show) that might make the process a little smoother. Pamper yourself before and after. :)

YOU have to decide if his position RIGHT NOW is enough for you to stay with him. This is an excellent point on this post that I keep coming back to. I don't want to be Barbara the Builder or Pamela the Provider. I feel when it comes to finding an equal partner that we both should be building up and providing for ourselves, then coming together. I'm doing that, but I don't see him doing that (I mean, maybe a bit if he's trying to save money? Trying not to be totally judgmental or classist). But a…

He either living with another woman or his mother. Men say they have roommate but the truth is he lives with his mother. Lol, I sure hope not. He said his parents live outside of the city.

This has crossed my mind. I don't think it's the case here, but it's certainly a possibility.

This is fair. Independence and self-sufficiency are important to me. I think there's also a different feel when it's a group of guys all living together versus just one roommate.

Thank-you for this perspective. I think it's going to be a deal-breaker for me as I've been in this situation before and it ended up in a lot of resentment. I already feel it building up within me again. I've managed to set a certain standard of living for myself and I think it's okay to have this standard for a significant other too.

Or I just don't want to be the sole provider of private space. I've done it a few times before and it just leads to resentment. I'm not looking to do it again.

This is my thinking. He had lived on his own before but I'm not really sure why he isn't now - saving money? I'll have to make that a requirement moving forward and screen for that. Thanks.

I understand what you're saying, but it would eventually progress that way, and I'd rather not get in too deep if having roommates is something that may be a deal-breaker. So no, it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for you?

If you want your confidence back, you have to get free of this trashy man. Cut him off, block him, delete him, stop seeing him and get him out of your life for good. You have to go no contact. You deserve so much better than this.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
