My husband and I lived together before we were married. I moved into his place. He continued to pay the entire rent. He also saved up a down payment for a house which we bought 3 months after our wedding. Only reason I pay “half the mortgage” is we’re married and have joint finances. All of our money goes into our joint account first & we have the exact same amount of budgeted personal spending money as the other no matter who makes more— because we’re equal partners (note that our personal care…

I’ve been surrounded by HVM my entire life so I had no problem kicking LVM to the curb as soon as I saw red flags. I’m happily married and used a similar strategy to FDS while dating (though I was dating pre-FDS being a thing). My dad is a HVM as well. My mom became disabled due to a traumatic brain injury when I was in elementary school. He stuck by her and fought the insurance company tooth and nail to get her the rehab she needed. He ended up having to pay a lot of it out of pocket. She’s sti…

Ugh. Yes! Men not caring for their own kids is such a pet peeve of mine. Luckily I know my husband is so good at caring for kids based on his interactions with our nieces and nephews. I have zero interest in ever being a SAHM. We’ve talked and if we had a disabled child then he’d be the one to stay home instead of me (prefer for us both to work though). If I’m being honest, he’s more naturally nurturing than I am.

There was a girl I went to high school with who was killed by her rapist after he was released out on bail— he killed her in order to prevent her from testifying against him. He had also videotaped the rape and had uploaded it to rape porn sites. In order to kill her, he pretended to be a boy her age online and got her to meet him at a local park for a date.

They don’t leave women alone. Mostly it’s just men who only want one night stands or no-strings-attached sex. They’re often bitter about having to treat women like actual people in order to get sex.

Corporate law is like one of those meme’s “what ___ thinks I do” vs “what I actually do” LOL Definitely agree that it depends on the company!

Majority of corporate lawyers are dealing with creating contracts, contracts negotiations, & reviewing vendor contracts before they can be signed... especially at companies that are not b2c. They basically have an INCREDIBLY boring job of reading contracts all day. If a company gets sued, they tend to bring in outside firms that specialize in litigation anyways rather than using their corporate counsel.

My grandpa is an example of a HVM without a degree or high powered career. He had a mediocre career managing facilities. My grandmother started a business in 1979 and couldn’t get a loan to start it without his signature (bank required it). Ticked them both off so he sold one of his prized possessions: a 100 acre cattle ranch that he’d only finally bought a few years before after working his entire adult life towards getting it. She broke even in a year and was highly profitable in 3. They ended…

Honestly I only have a small group of friends as well. I am also sometimes bothered by it but I think ultimately it comes down to I’m picky about the company I choose to surround myself with. I’m naturally too trusting of the people I’m close with so I vet everyone I “let in” extremely well as a protective measure. Once you’re in my inner circle, I’m extremely loyal and will do almost anything for you. That trait is too easily taken advantage of.

When talking about having children, my husband once said that having a gay/bi son will be just as scary for him as having a daughter because most men are trash in relationships. He has only a small group of close friends because he doesn’t tolerate being friends with LV men. Once he stopped he stopped hanging out with one of his newish friends, I asked why and apparently the guy had started talking about porn and his sexual encounters when it was “just the guys”— which my husband found disrespec…

Personally, i wouldn’t feel comfortable with just ghosting. As long as you’re blocking and moving on after your message— I think it’s fine! Saying it’s not going to work out before blocking is common curtesy if you’ve had more than a 5 min text exchange. Just how if you’ve interviewed at a job, it’s common courtesy for the employer to let you know they won’t be moving forward (even though it seems like most dont). I’m happily married to a HVM and never used dating apps though. I get that you end…

I don’t get flat pillows. My husband loves to sleep on a flat pillow. He makes his half of the bed every morning & neatly arranged the decorative pillows I’ve bought in the manner I like— hiding his flat pillow in the process. He also neatly sets all the pillows on the night stand each night. I don’t get the flat pillow at all, but he loves it. He sanitizes the pillow with bleach regularly though so it’s not gross like the ones pictured. He leaves the tennis balls out of the dryer when he dries …

Depends on the state. In my state, you make one payment on a mortgage with even you’re own income earned during a marriage and it becomes a community asset to be divided during divorce. You might be able to protect it with a prenup, but technically a judge could throw it out.

I didn’t start getting noticeable cellulite until I got the Mirena IUD as an adult 6 years ago. Got it out a month ago & it went away in like 2 weeks. The cellulite never bothered me personally, but I think hormonal birth control probably plays a role in its presence for some women though (it did for me).

I don’t drink alcohol at all (never have). My husband isn’t a big drinker but will occasionally partake. Only time I ever drive with him in the car is if he had a drink at dinner. I can’t recall ever seeing him drunk or having more than 2 drinks, so he’s probably still capable of driving he just won’t drive if he’s had any alcohol. He always asks before he orders if I’m ok with driving back home too.

THIS! My husband spent 2 years purposefully not dating in order to work on himself / get himself ready for marriage before we even met. I didn’t have to build him, he built himself. As a result, he has high self esteem because he knows it him who did it. His own sense of self worth allows him to treat me how I deserve to be treated. A man you build will inevitably resent you. It’s not worth it.

If you believe something is possible, you’re much more open to take the next step towards it when it appears. This isn’t just for finding a HVM, but for anything in life. You want to be a millionaire by the time your 60? If you invested $2000 today in the stock market & then $500/ month for the next 30 years, you’ll end up a millionaire from that account alone based on historical performance. If you don’t believe it’s possible in the first place, you’d never invest. Believing allows you to move …

In high school i was really underweight but no eating disorders or anything, just really underweight. When I was 16, I was 97 lbs & 5’8”. At the advice of my doctor, I added one of those diet meal replacement drinks as an extra meal instead of replacing a meal. I used the “slim fast” brand. I’d drink it in between breakfast and lunch.

If I had to guess, I think most of the men who think they were “divorce raped” were probably financially abusing their ex for years. They’re just mad they cannot continue to do so & exert control. The biggest complaint is usually child support too, so they don’t even want to support their own children unless they have control over the mother. It’s basically only abusive LVM who would use the term to talk about their experience of their divorce. Edit: a word
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/09/20 07:11 PM
5

Oh definitely. It’s terrible that they’d equate the two. Most of the time it’s men crying about having to pay child support anyways. They just hate that they cannot financially abuse the mother of their children by not supporting the children unless she stays. It’s about control and abuse. Using that term is a red flag that a man is a LVM.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/09/20 07:08 PM
8

Yeah— they’re mad that that they can’t continue to live the same quality of life as before. Most of the time, the biggest complaint is child support— they don’t want to support their own children because their mother chose to leave which is sad. They see child support & alimony as unfair because they can’t financially punish / abuse their ex for leaving. It’s a term almost exclusively used by LVM from what I’ve noticed.

Texas is a huge state— geographically it’s the size of France. It takes 12 hours to drive from one end to the other. If you’re traveling from far east Texas to California, you’re almost half way to CA when you reach El Paso. It’s mostly certain hotspots that have all the covid cases! It’s the Houston & Dallas area that are mostly affected.

Or to pay for testing rape kits! Have a feeling that the kind of men who will rape a woman are also way more likely to send unsolicited lewd pictures. Let them pay to help catch their own kind!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/09/20 06:54 PM
25

I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not. What LVM call “Divorce Rape”, is when an ex wife gets 50%+ of their assets despite the husband earning way more over the course of their marriage & typically when she’ll also get alimony and child support along with it. Generally this happens when a SAHM divorces her LVM husband.

I’m 26, married to a HVM & found out I’m pregnant this week. I’ll be 27 by the time I give birth. My husband is 31– our age gap was my upper limit so I was cautious at first but he really proved himself; we met through mutual friends almost 6 years ago so didn’t know each other’s ages until the first date. Given our mutual fiends, he thought I was older than I was & I thought he was younger than he was. We live in a LCOL area and in driving distance of both our families. We have similar salaries…

Trust is a vital part of a healthy long term relationship. The FDS strategy helps you identify a man who is potentially worthy of your trust. It’s important to be guarded while you’re vetting a man, but eventually you need to be able to trust the HVM or it’ll spell the end for the relationship. Until you feel ready to trust the right man, it’s a good idea to take a break from dating. A good therapist can be a huge help! (I’m happily married to a HVM, they do exist and they are trustworthy. He’s …

From what I understand, women are more susceptible to STD’s. There is a higher rate of transmission for most STD’s when the non-infected partner is a woman than when it’s a man.

My husband says paying for porn is like paying for crack. You know a man is a full blown addict when he starts paying for it. My husband is anti-porn & won’t even go to hooters or similar places that capitalize on women’s sexuality. He just doesn’t feel comfortable in those places. Found this out as Hooters was the only place in my hometown playing one of the World Cup games I wanted to watch one year and he stayed home and I went with my sister to watch it. We might! It’s not out of the realm of possibility just not in our long term plan right now. If a child who needed a home came into our lives, I don’t think we could say no. If we did decide to adopt, we’d probably try to adopt a child between ages 3-7 rather than an infant— since there is a shortage of infants, I’d probably feel bad about adopting an infant that isn’t already a relative when so many infertile couples really want one. I also prefer toddlers and older anyways (saying this as some…

I’m also a terrible cook. I can make 3-4 meals that taste decent but that’s about it. I can however make some pretty good deserts (I make a mean apple pie). My husband LOVES the instapot and doing experimental recipes in it. He uses it for like 80% of our dinners now (with lunch typically consisting of left overs from the night before). He figured out how to do spaghetti in it last week. I couldn’t tell the difference & it also means way fewer dishes for me so I was pretty happy it worked. We us…

My husband does most of the cooking in our house & I do the dishes. Since we’re working from home, he even makes me lunch 70% of the time. He’s continuously shown me he’s a HV partner over the years so sometimes when my anxiety is high I’ll feel like I don’t deserve him, but making dinner once? That’s like praising an intern for showing up for their internship.

Not the above poster either but my husband made it clear on the first date he was looking for a wife. He introduced me to his close friends about 3 weeks into dating & his parents shortly after that. He asked me to be his girlfriend / exclusive on the 3rd date. We even waited to kiss until we were in a relationship. RSD is something that comes along with his adhd from what I understand (you’d know more than me about that). Trouble remembering to pick up after himself is probably also a symptom of ADHD because messy rooms is apparently something they struggle with. He was living with us for no issues for over a year before the problems first started back in April & got progressively worse. I guess I should update on that. My brother-in-law went to his regular therapy session & she really helped him. He apologized & is doing much better. He has RSD— rejection sensitivity dysphoria— which means that he can feel attacked / judged by totally normal requests. My husband asks me about every purchase that isn’t budgeted (and vice versa). We talk 2 times a month about the budget. We never say no to the other person, instead we’ll discuss a timeline for the purchase (e.g. we need to save 3 months for it) or ask the other if it’s worth giving up xyz for that thing. So, neither of us ever feel judged for it wanting to purchase something. We have a really healthy relationship around money / finances. In my state, it doesn’t matter how separate you keep your…

My state law protects me on that given I’m in a community property state. Moving money with the intention of divorcing a spouse will get you raked financially by the courts. A friends ex wife drained their accounts when she left & the judge delayed child support until the value of what she took that should have been his was made whole. Though she was granted temporary custody, she ultimately lost primary custody to her ex. You’ll end up with a huge asset distribution disparity if you try that in…

Lol this is really funny and in my limited experience so true. I have a LVM 2nd cousin who married a Russian woman. She put up with his BS until she got her green card. She was so out of his league that we all kind of knew she was with him for the green card. He is a jerk / bully & makes fun of people in front of the family for fun— so no one really likes him all that much. Agree. Anything but monogamy is a trap. The old school version of poly— swingers / “wife trading” — also worked in men’s favor a lot of the times. Free poly makes these insecure men jealous of their primary partners success; which can be dangerous for a woman. Poly is a bad idea for women.

Having a family system doesn’t make one immune to abuse.... it just means it’s easier to get out of a bad situation. My mom had a great family system too (about 1/3 of my nearby relatives are from her side), yet her first husband (whose my half brothers dad) was abusive. She got herself out but it didn’t make her immune to it in the first place. Knowing the red flags— because my mom talked to me about it— helped me avoid bad men. He’s really diligent about money & has helped me be better with it. He added me to all his accounts when we got married. HVM vary in conventional physical attractiveness just like HVW do— it’s normal to date people who are about the same attractiveness as yourself. HV is way more about behavior and life attitude than looks. If you value conventional physical attractiveness in a partner, then leveling up your own physical appearance will help you land a HVM at the level of conventional attractiveness you want. I didn’t start mine until 15 & felt like a freak because of it. Every other girl I know started theirs in late elementary or early middle school. Mine didn’t start until the tail end of freshman year of high school.
