Had to cut one friend out myself as well, for the same reason. I'd never see the guy without his new girlfriend. He started gossiping with her and she couldn't keep her mouth shut. A friend should never talk shit about you behind your back imo, especially to their girlfriends. I'm still hopeful he'll change and I might give him another chance.

Why college kids though? Hang with people who you like as company. That aside, bonding is mostly done by hobbies/similar interests. Be active, join some clubs, try something you might be interested in. There's no easy way.

I consider myself to be great with speeches. I mostly find myself looking around the room, making eye contact with most people, when explaining a point. This usually gets them to nod along. Also make sure to not rush it. Just think of it as explaining these people what you know and they dont. Its your job to make them understand and they will understand, if you let them think about what youre saying. I havent found a cure for the anxiety before though.
