These are all great points! For your point about social movement, in college I think there is social movement but it's a lot of partying and just sleeping. Strenuous housework for sure, because girl......I strongly dislike deep cleaning lol

All of these reasons make sense. I despise the health at every size moment, because promoting the idea that being 500 pounds is healthy is so dangerous. And I agree with you, if I go out and I look like a mess, I feel gross!

I used to be slightly overweight in high school before I lost a ton of weight (although in the most unhealthy way), and my god it made me feel awful about myself. Once I lost weight all the attention I wanted from guys finally came. That's why I don't understand why anyone would purposely want to be and stay that way

If it's someone I went on a date with and I ended up not liking them, i'll just kinda shut down. I will barely respond to their texts, their advances, etc. If they don't take the hint then I'll explain why I am rejecting them. If it's someone I don't know I don't necessarily care about being polite

I kept the post vague just to get straight to the point. I have never been ghosted before so I am just trying to see why this would happen. It's very obvious now that these guys must not think they're attractive at all

Okay that makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

Absolutely. I have one of the most common surnames in the United States. My current boyfriend who I am in an LTR with, and who I hope to marry, has such a unique European last name that I love.

But if that's true, why even act like you're interested in the first place?

What do you mean by not good enough for more dates? Because they never slept with them, at least not that I know of

Have you ever had an experience where you actually ended up telling her why you ghosted her?

That makes sense. I'm gonna have to watch that video, thank you!!!!

Thank you so much! I had an eating disorder, and I feel so much healthier now. I do feel like everyone is looking at me, and even though I know people dgaf it still nags me. It's just gonna have to be something I need to get over

I suggest Ayesha Curry's cookbook, it has SO many recipes! I love it because most of them are very simple and easy

Please please please, enjoy your high school years as much as you can!! I spent my 4 years so stressed about boys and about my looks that I never enjoyed myself. When I graduated last year, I realized I had no memories that I truly wanted to cherish for my life because I was so caught up in the pettiness of high school. Associate with people who truly care about you, not just your looks. And if you meet a guy that you really like and it works out, then great! And if not, who cares! Have as much …

I love dresses!! I like showing skin and I live in such a hot climate (south Florida) so I feel super comfortable. I also like wearing makeup that makes my skin look dewy and fresh. I just love a makeup look that's on the border of natural and caked...if that makes sense lol

To me, these women seem like they just have no other personality traits besides being educated and smart. It seems as if they have been so engulfed in building themselves into the "smart girl" that they're just not interesting any other way.

Right! I'm just grateful I haven't had a horrible experience yet.

Wow...your job in college sounds horrible. I do understand tweaking things on your appearance to be more effective. I get commission on my job, so when I look extra good, I try harder to sell because it benefits me. Luckily I haven't had a bad experience so far, but I have also never been told explicitly to flirt or lead on the customers.

if your tag is accurate, I just turned 19, so we are close in age. I'm also in a committed relationship, and I agree that I wouldn't be if I acted like some of my family members or other black women that I know

I'm mixed race with a black mother and I identify as black. I didn't always see the "strong black woman" dynamic, but it was definitely there. I was always told to stop being shy, quiet, and sensitive. I tried really hard to not be, but my true self always came through. It's always tough to read articles that put black women down because of the stereotype, and I always have to realize that stereotypes are just that. And of course, some of us are the stereotype, but not all. I love being a woman …

Has that ever made you feel uncomfortable, even though you have benefited from it?

You're absolutely right, I meant outside of my job when I'm trying to get something I want, lol. But I never have purposely lead someone on, that's cruel

That's a great way to think about it, thank you! Like my looks get their attention but I have to get them to listen

Well yeah, I understand being the face of a business and I am not one to oppose being all dolled up. I usually come to work in hair and makeup because I like to. In anything other than a workplace setting, I have used my looks for things like discounts, free drinks, etc. I purposely don't do it all the time because I do have a boyfriend and I don't want to be known as like a huge flirt or something

It does make me feel uncomfortable sometimes because I feel like I'm just being used for my looks. I always tell my boyfriend I want to be known for other things

Thank you for your answer! I always want to be appreciative and grateful for everything he does; now and in the future. The sex thing I feel like is SO important because sex itself is very important to a relationship...and I would hate to be in a sexless marriage :-/

Thank you for your comment. I am currently in a relationship, and have been for almost 2 years. He's two years older than me, and he's very masculine and that's something I like most about him. In response to your comment about what a father has taught a women, in my case, my father has also always encouraged feminine activities and feminine qualities. Even though he did teach me a lot about football (go Giants!).

Your answer really is helping me see from multiple angles as well. I only brought up drinking because it's their only hobby and its wrecking their bodies. Being in college definitely has opened my eyes to how strongly I want to hold to my values, and not be like them at all!

To me, that is honestly baffling but mostly because I have no one in my family like that at all. I can definitely see how if you're not used to dressing up it could be weird, but it's just sad to see one with no self worth at all :-(

That makes sense, it could definitely see how it could be entitlement, and for me personally I never want to get to that point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
