No. I won't flatly say "yes". I'll just tell him that I'm interested in getting to know a little more about him, which is the truth. I don't want to be quick to say "yes" without knowing what I'm getting myself into.

Ask.

You don't know what you're talking about and with that attitude, you're going to continue having bad luck with women. I found the man that I described and you know what? I married him without a second thought about it. We are still happily married. I would never consider giving the type of man you described even a chance.

The right mixture!

I second this. The original post does NOT describe what women want at all. I, personally, avoid those men like the plague. I want a man who has a backbone, but also romances me like a woman. If he starts acting like he owns me or never caters to my needs here and there, he can go. That's an asshole for sure, but not an attractive one by any means. Relationships are about compromise. I will do for him if he does for me...

That doesn't work on women who also know their self worth. Lol.

Not threatening at all... I just think, "Good for him." There are more attractive things in a man to me. Of course he has to have a healthy sense of self esteem. That's important for everyone. But, how does he treat other people? What are his goals in life? Is he interested in settling down? Is he loyal? Those things are far more attractive.

I can't speak for all women, but I can speak for myself. And the answer is yes.

I don't believe that that's true. I was very attracted to my husband when I first met him. I still am. But, I didn't feel the need to jump into bed with him right away. I wanted to see what he was all about first. It would have been a turn off if he was pushy about even kissing on the first date. I would have found it disrespectful.

I second this. If tries to move too fast on the first date, I will push him away. I'm not into that and it makes it seem like that's all he wants.

No. I'm not going to sleep with someone right of the bat. Showing genuine interest means that you view me as a person with feelings, emotions, interests... not just a silly woman who can be manipulated into doing what you want. If you directly try to flirt, you're getting shut down. It will make me think that you're the type of person who doesn't think about the long-term, only immediate satisfaction. So, it's a turn off.

Don't neg at all... Negging is a major turn off for me. When it comes to negging, I see what you're doing. And it's not going to end well for you. Lol.

It's all about the vibe they give off. Subtle things will tell you a lot about someone's personality. We have to be friends first before I'd consider dating them.

More so them having an interest in me other than sex is what is essential. We need an emotional and/or intellectual connection of some sort.

If I think I might like the person.

Well, I'm always standoffish at first. I really need to get to know this guy if I'm going to be investing time, energy and emotion in him. If he seems okay, I'll be cool about it. I'll let him take the lead. But, I might (and I'm just being honest) be talking to a few people at the same time until I figure out who, if any, I like the most. If I'm serious about talking to someone, I won't keep talking to anyone else. Once I'm in a relationship, that's when I'll be a little less cold. It takes tim…

And whether I agree to the date or not depends on where I'm at in life. If I have a boyfriend, if I'm interested in someone else (but not dating them) or if I'm heavily focused on some aspect of my life other than dating, I'll say no.

I have to find their personality attractive more than anything else. As long as they have good hygiene, decent style and can carry on an intriguing conversation, then things are good.

I actually HATE when men do this. There was a time when I genuinely didnt want a boyfriend. So, when they asked I would tell them "yes" in the most firm, unemotional way possible and then change the subject to least "sexual" I could think of that was still relevant. If I said "no", they would try to flirt or ask me annoyingly personal questions. So, I learned to never say no to that question whether it was true or not. What does work? Asking about my hobbies and interests and just flat out askin…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
