you quickly find out that people are usually more receptive than you expect Exactly! Think to yourself "would I be interested in what I'm about to say" and if the answer is yes, then odds are other people will be too.

The friends bit is great. I was with a girl who had strong lmr that I couldn't get around; it took a few dates before we slept together. I don't remember exactly how the banter went, but I ended up saying "at the least we'll be good friends". Boom, next time I saw her we slept together. It seems to come from them genuinely liking you and being afraid of the friendzone.

Her: I don't want this to be a one night stand. You: If you play your cards right, I'll let you jump me again.

Make small talk, find out when she's done working, and meet up for a couple drinks. Depending on your sense of humor, it could be pretty funny to invite her for a cup of coffee.

Similarly, if you're leading her through a crowd, or anywhere else where she's behind you, sick your hand back for her to grab on to.

For serious. It's amazing what you can get away with when you have a smile on your face.

Its a great qualifier. I'd call that more of a filter; I don't want to be with a girl that can't have some fun.

Nice. I'd probably go with "I could use a sandwhich"

ha I did this with my now-girlfriend a few times. It was tons of fun! Sitting and people watching is hilarious. Point the dorkiest kind on the playground: "I bet you were like that one growing up." On a related note, one of the best dates I had involved getting a 6 pack of beer, grabbing a pizza to go, and having dinner in the park. It was pretty cold so I brought a blanket to snuggle under..

How should I play it up with the girl I'm talking with? Act like it never happened. You're thinking way too hard about this.

I cannot speak from experience (obviously) but they say that women being direct to guys yields worse results than women playing coy and making guys approach them. Direct as in "here's my phone number; call me", or as in starting a conversation? I can see the first one not working (it happened to me once and it was really uncomfortable), whereas the latter is far more natural.

"geez if you wanna be spanked, just ask.....I know a dom, she'll hook you up."
/r/seduction23/01/11 10:39 PM

It's also completely normal way to start a conversation with strangers. If you use one that's in all the literature then yes, you run the risk of getting caught. If you use something relevant to what you're doing right now, you can't get busted because it's real. I asked strangers' their opinion on things long before I ever heard of PUA and I wasn't even single. It's just a natural, social, fun thing to do. Also, you can get your non-PUA friends to unwittingly help you out. Disagree with them on…

Stop labeling yourself as an introvert and go talk to people. Also, cheer the fuck up. It wil help.

If you pay attention you can see hot girls gaming bouncers all the time. That right there is a great conversation starter.

Be fun, interesting, unpredictable. Those are probably what landed her in the first place. Be confident; it doesn't matter if other guys hit on her, you don't need to check in with her, etc. Continue to talk to other girls and get them to flirt with you. Remember, though, you do need to open up and be soft every now and then. If you're always gaming her she'll get sick of you. I'm not saying to turn in to a pussy or anything, but it's good to straight up tell her you like her every now and then.
/r/seduction15/01/11 05:31 AM

Loudly participate in the conversation she's having. "seriously? steve is going out with mary?? I'll give it a month tops."
/r/seduction14/01/11 08:34 PM

Open everyone. You'll come across someone that you want sooner or later. A line I've used with some success is "I'm trying to meet everyone in the building. Come with." Great way to get social proof, meet lots of people, and an easy IOI for the girl you've invited along on your adventure.
/r/seduction11/01/11 03:30 AM

I'd just go with it. "You know it, babe." "Sure am. Why do you always chase after my type?" "I get that all the time. What happened to the good old days where a guy could just be friends with a girl? Now I start one conversation everyone thinks I'm out to fuck them." etc.
/r/seduction09/01/11 03:15 PM

Don't text, call. Never text to set up a date, unless you were really good friends with this girl. Texting is very informal, and quite rude. How old are you? This is how an entire generation communicates now.
/r/seduction09/01/11 03:11 PM
2

Ergo, keep doing what you did to get her in the first place. I think my original point still stands, regardless of PUA/game/whatever. If have a chick chasing you, keep doing what you're doing since she obviously likes it.

Go shoot some pool. Bars are overdone If you have an interesting local bar you're golden. Good home brews, a great band, etc.
/r/seduction05/01/11 04:25 PM
2

Frankly, people go to the bars to have fun. Generally politics and science are not fun topics. Not to say that weather and their jobs are fun per say, but it's within their comfort zones. It's easy conversation. Next time you're talking to a guy make the conversation situational. Ask him if he saw that drunk chick doing the crazy shit over there, the dude with the crazy hat, whatever.
/r/seduction04/01/11 04:36 PM

It's all about being playful. I don't see why it wouldn't work, though I could see some guys being turned off if you're too quick-witted.

I'm not going to say whether that's good or bad because it's all in the delivery. If you say they're cheap drunks and look like you mean then they're going to be pissed. As far as what I would do, I'd probably drag it out. Me: "Me? You'll never guess why I'm here." Her: "oh, really." Me: "Really. Not in a million years." etc. Make her work for the answer.
/r/seduction04/01/11 01:01 PM

I usually end up talking about music, so we go to listen to whatever the latest album by some band is. Similarly, if you were talking about some video you saw online then you can go watch it. It doesn't have to be good excuse. Just something she can tell her friends tomorrow morning. I was actually talking to my girlfriend about this the other day. We were talking about the first date we had, which went really well. Her: "Do you remember why we went back to your place, anyways? Me: "I don't reme…

I usually go with "What got you out to the bar tonight?". If they give you an interesting answer (it's my friend's birthday, whatever) you've got an easy conversation going. If they don't have an interesting answer then you give them shit for being cheap drunks who are using guys to get free drinks all night. This does mean, however, that you have to have a good story prepared about why you're out and about tonight. This is a great chance to spew complete bullshit and get them laughing.
/r/seduction03/01/11 03:31 PM

To the backburner with her. I'd say completely ignore what she told you, but don't pursue heer too much. On another note, you should probably give her an excuse to go back to your place (eg show her that video you told her about).

Practice on everyone so when one that makes your legs turn to jello comes along you can cruise on autopilot. Also you should be less shallow. Give people you normally wouldn't consider a shot. You'll be pleasently surprised.

Rebuttals: Compared with those in the early sex group, those who waited until marriage: Rated relationship stability as 22 percent higher Rated relationship satisfaction as 20 percent higher I would hope so! They've got a hell of a lot more invested in that relationship. Rated sexual quality as 15 percent better Possible selection bias as the people who wait until marriage have likely had fewer partners (quite possibly none) and therefore have little to compare to. I banter with everyone about everything; it's just plain old fun! The first date I had with my now-girlfriend involved bantering about how she could never be on the board of directors of my evil empire because of <some lame excuse>. I decided to be nice and let her be the assistant manager of the mischief department.

It's really funny how reading things without context, intonation, or body language changes how it comes across. For a great example, take your favourite comedian's stand-up routine and put it in a script. I bet it's not nearly as funny. EDIT: I tell stories to strangers as if I've known them all my life. It's not bragging, showing off, or whatever, it's just stating the bare minimum number of facts to set the scene for the story. It also leaves a lot of hooks for her to grab on to if she's inter…

Your stories/experiences should tie fairly naturally into the questions/topics you're interested in. For example, my conversation hitlist is music, travel, and athletics. Stories are pretty easy: "I was at the such and such concert last week....", "when I was in some other country last year...", "I was out running the other morning...", etc. If you play it right you can still have a great conversation even if she hasn't experienced any of these things. For example, if she hasn't travelled much y…

And don't limit yourselves to club/bars. That part was to make it funny. If you're in a bar you have to be over 18.

New favorite opener: "hi! Who's legal?" This would pretty funny in a club/bar actually. Extra hilarity in a cougar bar.

Agreed on all counts except 4-5 days. The point, as is with many pua techniques, is to be different than every other guy. waiting a while works because she wonders why the hell you didn't call her. sending a short and funny text within an hour of meeting her also works because she wasn't expecting it.

I'm going to point out, for those who don't see it, that what makes these stories great is that she can relate to them. You're trying to show that you get how she works and you get bonus points for showing her that you get how dating works. And, for those who don't know this either, women relate better to emotions, while men relate better to facts. That means you can take that story about how your car broke down and make it awesome to both men and women by changing what you're emphasizing. Going…

*shrug* more women for us, I suppose. What I don't like is people lacking common sense, like this I've got a friend who is moving from LA to NYC today to be with a girl that he met on OKCupid, AND HE HASN'T EVEN MET HER IRL YET!! PUA aside, that is a clinically retarded decision. An AFC friend of mine somehow broke out of the friendzone with a girl I know and ended up dating her for a couple months. I was quite impressed, but he ended up blowing it in one of the stupidest acts of relationship-ma…

Perhaps a word stronger than "attracted" is needed. Don't be jealous. As an alpha male, you know that she's in love with you and not to any other guy out there. Don't be jealous if she has male friends, gets hit on, etc.

The idea of pua is that you've got options and that they must compete. A LTR you don't have that. Sure I do. Girls flirt with me all the time; I could dump my girlfriend and pursue them if I wanted to. You can even play hard-to-get in a LTR. She knows it isn't for real (ie she will get you), but it's a ton of fun. Shit, you can even use the same lines found in PUA material. For example, if she sends you a suggestive text message you can send back something cocky/funny ("yeah, I'd want me to"), r…

Stay alpha We've all seen the lists on alpha male qualities. These transfer over to LTRs, as well. Here are a couple ways to remain alpha in the context of a LTR: Don't be jealous. As an alpha male, you know that she's attracted to you and not to any other guy out there. Don't be jealous if she has male friends, gets hit on, etc. Make decisions. Ever done the whole "what do YOU wanna do?" thing? Cut it out. Make a fucking decision. Don't apologize if you don't mean it. IMO this also includes not…

Put in the effort to stay interesting Once you get past the honeymoon phase things die down and the reality of mundane day-to-day life kicks in. This is where a lot of relationships, especially in young couples, tends to fall apart. How do you fight that? Stay interesting! I've been doing this in three ways: I don't call her "just to talk" if I don't have anything to talk about. I try to remember at least one interesting thing that happened to me every day, so when I do see her I'll have somethi…

** Consistency** This, IMO, is the absolute most important thing with respect to PUA and LTRs. She fell for you for a reason; don't change that now! So, for example, keep teasing her, keep flirting with her, and keep making her chase you.

I'm not sure what your status with this girl is e.g. FWB, essentially girlfriend, etc., which matters quite a bit. Since you haven't used any of these names yet then it's coming out of the blue and she will notice. If she's interested in pursuing a relationship then she'll love it. If she isn't going for a relationship then you might turn her off in fear of you falling for her. I see tons of guys that call girls they just met 'sweetheart' You can use those in non-endearing or even condescending …

If she does anything remotely sexual: "I need some wining and dining first, jeez" I found these work well whenever she suggests a date idea. For example my now-girlfriend (she wasn't when I did this) suggested a movie night. We hadn't had sex yet, so this was an obvious ploy for banging all night. I gave her every reason under the sun for not being able to watch a movie including "I'll be too hungover" and "I'll be all sweaty from the gym". It was really funny watching her shoot down every excus…

The thing is one of my most recent fcloses has just managed to lock me down into an LTR. She has found out about me going out sarging, and needless to say she wants that to stop. You're sarging while in a LTR? You're an asshole. You should either spend your time, you know, enjoying your girlfriend or, for her sake, dump her because you can't fucking handle a relationship. It's shit like this that make the seduction community look like a bunch of sleezeballs. This leads me to a dilemma. I want to…

I gave an upvote but wanted to make sure you know that I read this. Thanks for the long and detailed response. I do, however, disagree with this premise Sex, IMO, as much as I love it, is the domain of committed people, it's 2 people bearing their soul, their body, hearts and minds to each other. I don't think that's true at all. There's different kinds of sex, among which exists intimate sex as you've described it, but also meaningless sex. Problems arise when two people aren't experiencing the…

Give them nicknames that you can remember. I've done this several times when meeting large groups of people. I let them all go around and introduce themselves, I smile and nod attentively, then say "Nice to meet you all! A lot of that is bordering very closely to douchebaggery, but the general principles are there. The biggest two, which are repeated throughout that page, are confidence and not giving a fuck. You can project confidence by speaking loudly, clearly and slowly. Confidence is also projected through body language: a solid stance with feet apart, arms at your side, make eye contact, good posture. It feels very uncomfortable at first, but I've found it makes a big difference in my day-to-day life. You …

A couple suggestions: Don't worry about getting everything exactly right. The joy comes from making the meal together, not necessarily the final product. Actually, a fucked up dinner can be a bonding experience if you laugh it off and don't take it too seriously. All you need for a "good opener" is some confidence, a smile, and friendly attitude. What comes out of your mouth is totally irrelevant, because nobody ever really remembers what you said anyway. It's not like you walk up to a bunch of women, whisper "laaaaadieeees" in their ears and immediately start asking them riddles. Thats creepy as fuck. Once you've already opened and got them talking, then you say "oh my friend showed me this puzzle....", then you give them shit for falling for it.

Doesn't sounds like you're completely out of it. Although it was awkward conversation, she knows you have at least one other option. I think you should have probed around to sort out logistics before suggesting dinner. Eg "What's your schedule look like next week?" instead of inviting her for dinner. I can't say I've slept with any 9s or 10s, but I have some friends in that category and good lord is there a ton of drama. On the upside, the one I can't stand is really dumb so it's easy to make fun of her. Unfortunately she takes it as flirting, but that's a different story. I find myself attracted to girls that would traditionally be considered "cute", rather than "hot". As a bonus, these girls are usually sane, and often really cool.

girls have constantly been saying, "I cant tell when you're joking". You can make it more clear that you're joking by having a smile on your face, winking, arm on her shoulder, etc. (not all at once obviously). This sounds like your body language is not friendly enough, so the things you say come off as being serious.

If your whole base for attraction hinges on getting or not getting her a drink you have bigger problems. I think the first date sets some expectations. I don't think that anyone should be expected to pick up the tab and being stubborn about splitting the bill is indicative of a personality trait I dislike.

I've heard of instances where a girl will ask for space, the guy will give it to her, and she will be pissed at him because he listened to her. WTF? I know this is /r/seduction where the goal is (usually) sex, but that's a total deal-breaker for me. I wouldn't want to fuck anyone who plays those kinds of games.

FTOW = Find...that other woman? Fuck ten other women. Yeah, though she's said before that I should call since "I'm the guy". I don't really buy into it. Bull. Any relationship (romantic or otherwise) should have both parties participating equally. However, I don't want to have something go nowhere because I didn't do anything. That's fair. It seems you have been actively pursuing her and she isn't biting. Move on. That said, it's probably right that even if she thought that, she'd give me a call…

Part of your second point is building tension. When you send mixed signals it makes the other person wonder what is going on. For example, whispered in their ear, "mmmmmm you smell good" pause, then push away with "too bad you're such a dork"

/r/seduction09/11/10 04:25 AM

How can I dress well without looking like a dweeb? Two things. First: confidence. You only come off as a dweeb if you're uncomfortable and think your'e a dweeb. Second, dressing well doesn't necessarily mean dressing fancy. If you give a shit about what your appearance and put some effort into looking good (even if it's a t-shirt and jeans) then you'll send all the right signals.
/r/seduction09/11/10 04:13 AM

It also demonstrates preselection, higher value (you're turning women down), and not only that you "get it" but that you're ok with talking about it.

I've had this happen once, so the sample is pretty small. Anyways, I ended up relating to her over it ("omg I know exactly what you mean. Some girls are so dumb, they just don't take hints") and we hit it off pretty well.
/r/seduction08/11/10 01:48 PM

Those aren't negs. Negs are supposed to be subtle and make the girl think twice about what you're saying.

Sending mixed signals is usually a sign of disinterest. If she was truly interested in you she wouldn't be backing off. These girls are feeding off of the attention you give them. Stop giving her attention when she wants it (become scarce) and you'll suddenly be higher-valued. What do I mean by that? Don't always go out when she invites you. Don't return attention when she gives it to you. For example if she sits on your lap, playfully push her off with a "get off me, punk". Be scarce. You don't…

If she thinks you're bringing up the awkward thing because you don't know what else to talk about, you're fucked. Well yeah. It's all about the frame. If you're having a great conversation and just through that out there it could be pretty funny. "Wow we're getting along way too well. Let's have an awkward silence." And then carry on like nothing happened.
/r/seduction31/10/10 11:14 PM
2

But it also seems awkward to just pick someone and start talking to them the second I walk in. As always, it's only as awkward as you make it. If you don't feel comfortable talking to people you don't know then you'll either have to fake it, or come up with some way to feel comfortable. I used to be kind of shy, so I'd tell people I'm having a contest with my friend where <insert reason to talk to people>. Do interesting things and you'll have interesting stories. The key part is to relate over feelings that she has. How so? Ask her a couple questions about what she likes to do, then try to relate to a feeling that she describes. Also, stop thinking of yourself as boring. The things that you do may be boring to others, but as long as you're passionate about them it will show. Passion counts a lot.

Pray tell, how does one go from never touching any of their family or friends affectionately to "correctly" touching them a lot without them wondering what the fuck is going on? I've said this in a previous thread, but I'll repeat here. PU teaches you to be interesting, cool, funny, sexy, unpredictable, and mysterious. The single most important thing is being consistent with your actions when you met her. PUA techniques teach you how to appear interesting, cool, sexually attractive, etc. Once you get a girl hooked and you find yourself in a LTR you must retain that image. That means you have to be interesting, cool, sexually attractive, etc. Remaining interesting is, IMO, involves at least two things: doing cool shit with her and doing cool shit without her.…

"Where have you been lately?", "What's your wackiest adventure?", etc. Another approach is make outlandish assumptions about her based on absolutely zero knowledge. These can be a LOT of fun. When the conversation dies a little: "You know I'm starting to thing you're a drug dealer...", "I think you and I could conquer the world. You…

There is, of course, not a single hint of doubt in the book: being more successful with women equates being a better person all around, the two elements always go in parallel in the book. Why? I think the biggest thing people learn through the various PUA techniques is confidence. You're no longer afraid to talk to strangers, to say what's on your mind, to joke with people, etc. The book teaches you how to sell yourself to women, but that can easily be transferred over to other areas of your lif…

If I was the dude being ripper on I'd just ignore it. No eye contact, no head movements, nothing. If I was one of the other two guys not involved in the confrontation, I'd use it as an opener. Pick sides on who's going to win, make bets, ask her if her friend is impressed by the AMOG, etc.

find something interesting to do, rather than things that require you to be on your A game all day. Mini golf, pool hall, batting cages, go carts, etc. Is there something you're particularly good at? Teach her about it. Is there something she's particularly passionate about? Go there and get her started on her interests. If things are going well make sure you have a plausible reason to go back to your place. "Oh I should show you that funny video I told you about...", "You should meet my cat..."…

What is a good way to make sure this NEVER happens again? I feel like I should have just stopped dancing, turned her around and kissed her. Isolate her.

Then when you want to talk, make the "lean closer, I'm about to talk" gesture, Seconded. It's a good way to find out if she's interested in talking to you too. Once you've had a bit of a conversation you can isolate by saying "I can't hear shit...let's go to <quieter location>".

Do you generally set boundaries on what does on in private too? Regarding, for example, staying the night, cuddling after sex, etc. I know some people are ok with having sex and leaving, but if it's 3 AM I'd feel weird kicking her out of my bed.
/r/seduction06/09/10 08:04 PM

i would say listen to the words and then follow emotionally from there. This times a million. Wanna make a connection with girl? When she tells you something she likes doing ask her how it makes her feel, then relate it to something you like to do.
/r/seduction06/09/10 07:55 PM
5

Dude, just be a flirt. Tease her, touch her, etc. Sure she'll like you even more, but so what? Now you've got social proof when you're around the other girls in the group. BTW hinting that you only want to be friends will drive her CRAZY. Try it. For science.
/r/seduction04/09/10 05:18 PM
2

How did you ask her out? How exactly did she reject you? What's so awkward about talking to her? It's not a big deal; act like nothing happened. If she starts coming on to you again just flirt with her, but don't act on it for a while.
/r/seduction04/09/10 05:12 PM

Nice. Thoughts on this one? "I'm in, but I'm going home with the hottest girl in the club" If she wants you she'll look smoking. Otherwise, you're free to game anyone else.

Protip: tell her what footwear is needed. Alternatively - I read this on reddit somewhere - have three different places ready to go when you pick her up and pick the one that best suits the way she's dressed. A classy martini bar, a casual pub, and batting cages, for example.

she wants to keep the date going obviously... its good for me. Light making out in the karaoke booth. Very nice. Later I go home and I get a text from her 'great night, blah blah blah lets hang out again soon, I want you to cook for me.' Nice. Why didn't you take her home?
/r/seduction03/09/10 02:59 PM

How old is she? If she's young texting is probably the way to go. It's just how people communicate now. Text her with something interesting that happened to you, something funny that reminded you of her, etc. Try to work callback humour into it. If you've got nothing interesting to say then doing something goofy like sending a knock knock joke might work too. Since it took persistence and convincing to get her number don't be surprised if you never here from her again.
/r/seduction03/09/10 02:56 PM

I think you could have played it off a little better by getting her to jump through a hoop of yours too. The keyboard jockey in me would have first given her the "ugh I'm feeling tired" stuff, then when she asks again respond with "sure, but the coffee's on you". She gets a lift from the bus station, you've kept her in line, and you get wild crazy-lady sex.

In particular, notice he says that if you're in public, you should hold hands discreetly, maybe behind her back where nobody else can see. I believe that he says that primarily so she isn't embarrassed in front of her friends. If there's no friends around then it shouldn't be as big of a deal. That being said, being discreet is always a good idea but you don't necessarily need to be covert about it on a date.

Push for logistics: ask if she's tired, hungry, seen the movie etc. etc. Eliminate all possible reasons not to come over until she's left with "Why not?" I don't like arguing with women logically. Change her mood and she'll want to come over.

For engineering/hard science majors: Yes, the guy to girl ratio in your class is likely to suck. I was once an undergrad engineer. Your electives are your friend, especially ones where you can split off into smaller groups (not just giant lectures). Use this to your advantage! Men in engineering are stereotypically antisocial for a reason. Be the guy that's smart and social. Chat up all the girls in your classes. After all, they probably have some hot friends!

I feel extremely uncomfortable touching people as well, but have been working on it gradually. I'm fine with the shoulder/arm touching to emphasize a point (e.g. "oh! *touch shoulder for a second\* I meant to tell you about....") and guiding women by touching their back, but I've been having trouble moving on from there. Here a couple things that I've tried and have worked, but keep in mind that they fit in with my personality: If you're at a bar with a band you have an immediate reason to sit b…

7.Saying “I’m not really looking for a relationship” = blue balls: You know it, and she probably knows it too, but you never want to explicitly SAY that you’re not looking for a relationship. To her, that translates to “I want to fuck you and not call you back.” Not very romantic to say the least. There's a time and a place for that discussion and, IMO, you should make sure it happens so that everyone involved is on the same page.

Nicely done. I like your response to the "hussey" comment. As far as planning things, I find it's good to ask "what's your schedule look like this week?" and pick a time that works in with that. It stops the fifty messages back-and-forth when you're trying to pick a date. Alternatively, you can say something like "Lets get a drink. Monday or Thursday?" and pick a couple days that work for you. Not only is this harder to blow off (she can't just say "no"), but you can tell if she is genuinely bus…

I read somewhere that "the least you give a fuck, the more you become an object of desire". That's sums it up for me. I've also found that if someone can't/won't have a conversation with me I probably don't want to be friends with them anyways. My philosophy has become "I am who I am and fuck you if you don't like me."

And rather than make a question personal, like "what's your favorite candy", just ask a question, like "have you tried this, is it good?" IMO you're better off not asking yes/no questions because it tends to result in yes/no answers. Making statements (e.g. "I love this candy! Haven't had them years...") or asking open-ended questions (e.g. "Any suggestions?") results in a conversation, rather than an interview.

Two things recently: First one is cheesy but true: "girls just want to have fun". Seriously, lighten the fuck up and have some fun. If you can have a good time with someone they will like you. To put that in perspective, I got a girl interested in me by having her help me install blinds in my living room. How? Because we kept fucking up and it was hilarious. Secondly, I've be using the word "we" a lot more lately to great effect. It seems to bring people a lot closer than using just "you" or "yo…

Thats the main thing I worry about, not having interesting (true) things to talk about when I converse with women. They don't have to be interesting. You just have to make them interesting. Thanks, I do struggle with this. I am independently wealthy; my company is worth $10mm, I take home about 200k per year. The money is trivial to me. Seems bad to keep firing out offers of dates, but also seems bad to ask them when they are free. There's some ups and downs here. Me: Hey Pauline! Are you interested in joining a friend of mine and I for some stand-up comedy and drinks tonight? Sounds a little needy. A better approach is to assume she's coming. "out with a friend for drinks, see you around 10" Me: Cool, join us at 930 then; Perfect. She came out with you, which is obviously good, but I'm not convinced she's that in to you. Some feedback on what I would have done: I think taking her hand was a good move (personally would have gone arm-in-arm a la Wizard of Oz) but you should have let go pretty quickly. Give her a BS reason eg "too long; you're creeping me out" When she didn't sit on the rock I would have motioned for her to sit on my lap.
