Marriage has undergone drastic changes in the last 50 years. What used to be a life-long commitment, unbreakable barring the most severe circumstances, has been relegislated into something entirely new thanks to the lobbying efforts of radical feminists and the divorce industry. In trying to make divorce “fail-safe” for homemaker or lower-earner spouses, the bad ones included, society has made marriage “unsafe” for virtually everyone else. Marriage was a worthy goal for a man about 50 years ago.…

Filing first gives you a mental edge, not in any legal. It’s the same principal as propaganda during war; so long as the opposing side sees it too. It inflates the narrative of one side’s story only and in certain circumstances, directs the narrative. What it does is deflate the willingness to fight back based on overinflated “facts” Get your ducks in a row, know the actual facts, and nuke em’ when they’re looking the other way.

Brother, if you’re anything like me then just being around my kids and having them in my life makes me a better human being. Anything worth fighting for is always scary. Us, and all dads before us and all the dads after us are behind you one hundred percent. The times are a changin’ and it starts here. You got this.

Absolutely not. I have 2 young daughters half the time and there’s nobody that I’ve met that even comes close to what I would consider worthy of taking my time and energy away from them, let alone jeopardizing their future inheritance from me. I will continue to have fun and play the field with complete honesty and transparency with no possible risk to my children or myself. Never again

It’s true, but because it’s childcare expenses a percentage of the cost can be billed back to my kids’ mother. I don’t have any family close and I wasn’t willing to give up 50/50. Where there’s a will, there’s a way

I hired an awesome nanny, she picks up my kids and brings them to our house and hangs out until I get home.

Keep it, the courts will have a hard time justifying taking the home the kids grew up in away and raising your spousal or child support payment. It is your protected retirement fund

Single dad of 2 young daughters. They get the best of you now. You’re not juggling to keep their mom happy as well so all your energy is theirs. Its calmer in my house. I cook, I clean, I have friends over, we do outside stuff, we watch movies, we have play dates. (Bonus: lots of single moms). We do whatever we want, whenever we want. I’m a better dad to my kids than I ever was when I was married. I’m happier and so are the kids. You face adversity in the family courts without any recognition of…

Keep your retirement, also note the 2 are not equal dollar for dollar. Most pensions have not had income tax deducted yet. $100 in today money is most likely worth more in tomorrow money. Besides, who wants their ex to come knocking when you’re busy fishing or playing golf?

Read the original post again, the dude is proud to be learning how to do things he couldn’t do. That’s what matters here, feeling good at overcoming fear. Go back to the sub you crawled out of

Get him to send any and all emails or texts written to his ex to you instead. It’ll give him and a chance to vent safely, give you a window into his feelings and advice and editing on how to respond safely and tactfully. Edit: if you’re married, my sisters husband was my best support during my divorce. Just a thought.
