This guy is on point. If the girl generally talks shit about people she considers friends, she WILL use it against you. I have a couple of close girlfriends and noticed that both of them never talk badly about the people they care about even when they are fighting. These kind of people are trustworthy. Just watch how she deals with fights with her friends. If something is going on they both tell me "yeah were in a fight. Im just mad at her/him" and they leave it at that. You can also test this b…

What you listed are not a problem. If you have the right attitude, confidence and dodge women's shit tests, you actually stand out. It shows that you are so confident in yourself that these kinds of activities do not diminish your self esteem. You will stand out too. Kind of like peacocking. Its all about the right frame.

Yes I thought it was weird and stupid at first! But after doing it it has changed my life. I used to be so negative and unhappy. Now I'm cool as a cucumber. Living in the moment is great.

Can you explain it more? I hear people all the complain about benign things like being stuck in traffic or their boss is an ass. I dont see those things as big deals anymore. I easily brush them off and dont see the need to feed negative energy to other people. If I do complain about something, I do it in a light hearted way and try to make it funny. If I have a question because I'm bothered by something and need my bf's view to help solve it, I open up. But I dont try to bore him with mundane t…

I'm addressing this to you and to the similar replies: Thanks this makes more sense. I was confusing the idea of complaining with asking for help (which is more feminine). Thanks all for the clarification!

Not only that, it teaches you to be happy no matter the circumstance. Great for long term happiness. And self control!

Ditto. New study came out debunking red wine benefits. Alcohol puts stress on our bodies and is a form of poison. If you want to drink fine, but don't kid yourself that it does well for your bodies. Italians are indeed less fat than Americans but they also have much higher instances of liver cancer.

Jesus christ this is disgusting. The people who are telling OP she can do whatever she wants because shes 19 are going to be god awful parents. How the fuck does anyone in the right mind that drunken promiscuous sex is OK? STDs? Low self esteem? There's sciefientic evidence that links the two. These are such obvious red flags that no rational person would disagree. If she dated casually that's one thing, but fucking a new guy once a week while drunk is something different. Are these people fucki…

Spot on. The basis is rooted in developmental psychology. He pretty much talked about attachment theory and attraction which are pretty established ideas. Men who grow up in an unstable family life, or are uncomfortable in their sexuality and emotional self, will subconsciously seek out women who recreate the past. It's one thing if you date a crazy and dump her and remember the red flags. It's another if all your relationships end up with crazy women.

I agree with this 100%. Honestly, I hear this a lot that it shows that you're confident enough with yourself that she isn't going to cheat by letting her go out alone for the night and get drinks with a mixed group. I think it ultimately dismisses human nature and is disrespectful for women to do this (men as well). I think going out for drinks with coworkers is fine if it meets these conditions: you're allowed to bring your SO, it's only a couple drinks and you'll be home by 8 or 9pm (or whatev…

I agree. We talked again and agreed that it's a red flag, but since he doesn't have concrete evidence, he can't really confront him. We agreed to ignore him for now and if anything else happens, he'll talk or drop him.

I'm not trying to be a dick but are you sure your tone is neutral? If not, then: how about saying she should login as well. She should look at her purchases and categorizes them. It gives her something to do and makes her feel like she has some responsibility and independence. I can't really imagine her getting upset over this if she is giving you such a hard time about "control."

Try saying this: hey babe, im trying to organize our budget using this site x. I just like to keep things efficient and this y purchase wasn't automatically categorized. Which category was it? I think that gets to the point without any accusatory tone. You know what your intentions are but she is sensitive.

I understand what you mean. Could you give an example though? This is a bit vague and it's hard to give advice.

Can you give an example? It's possible that you may come across as bitter which fuels other people to react negatively. If you are assertive but use wit and humor to push them back, people tend to step back. Or it could just be they are bitter and are voicing it. In that case, don't say anything. Keep your ground. It just depends; we need more context.

Yeah, that's what I think too. There are stuff I don't tell him about when guys approach me (I just tell him hey, I'm taken and go on with my life) because I see it as some weird thing that is trying to instill jealousy. I hope that makes sense. I can deal with that no problem. This was being really weird because he was asking to keep it between us--um no--unless he genuinely wanted female perspective to help out his gf or planning some kind of surprise.

I dont tell my bf when I get hit on by other dudes because I brush them off. This is different because he's his friend. I told him and hes fine. No harm done.

Updated. He was fine with the convo because he didn't say anything crude. Im more skeptical than my bf on his intentions but if he's cool with it, then I'm fine I guess. I feel more disrespected and uncomfortable than he is strangely enough. If a girlfriend did that to me, she would be done as a friend because she wants to keep a convo a secret and followed up with weird messages (I can understand in some cases but this was not it). I added more info in original post

What do you mean by that? I did tell the dude upfront that it isn't cool. I'm debating between telling him or not which I've decided I will. Im going to let him read the convo and decide for him self.

I've decided to tell him. I'll update you guys on how it went.

Does he know better now? His response to me was, "hey, you're making me walk on eggshells!" indirectly putting the blame on me for cutting it short. If he said something like 'oh, hm i can see how it was out of line, please don't interpret like that' then yes, I can agree that he finally got a moment of clarify and will have better self control. And thanks!

Hm, you're starting to sway me. Honestly, I hated the fact that he told me, "wow, you're making me walk on eggshells" because I pointed out that I didn't want to disrespect my bf. From that very little info, it's very obvious to me he's the kind of person that will cause drama and wrong people, but will never take responsibility. There is no way he will own up to his friend 'oh yeah i tried to flirt.' So I don't trust him at all. I'm pretty good at judging people's character, so it seems to me h…

The thing is that we have only been dating for a year, while they have been very good friends for much longer. I think he mentioned that he is his best friend. He was being sneaky about how he was approaching the situation so I'm worried this may backfire on me and his friend will paint me as some drama queen because it's possible for him to backtrack on what he said. IE, there's a case for plausible deniability. I do not trust him at all. My bf is more forgiving than me, so I don't know how he …
