Yeah I would wait until she's about to walk away then ask. Sit by her if possible, talk throughout class when possible, and right when everyone is packing up ask her then but maybe try and wait until she's away from most of your classmates so they don't hear the exchange. I will say that it is so much easier to ''go out'' while you're in HS. Especially at 17, You could go as far as setting ''study dates'' with girls at either yours or her parents house. Fast food restaurants are also a possibility. As far as being in a rural area that is a bit of a toughfy. You say you already have the confidence to approach girls which for many guys is the hardest part so I say go for the college freshmen if you can. Otherwise dating apps will be your best bet.
